Zhou Mu nodded upon hearing the words.
Gu Changsheng, however, turned and walked towards the grand hall behind him, instructing the female officials behind him in a deep voice, "Send word down, have the Dark Night Army stationed outside the city fully ard and enter the city imdiately!"
At this point, Gu Changsheng addressed Zhou Mu, "Lend your token."
"Okay!" Zhou Mu said without hesitation, tossing the token from his waist to the female official’s hand.
"I’ll go imdiately!" The female official replied as she held the token, then quickly turned and disappeared into the Heavenly Palace.
Gu Changsheng then grabbed Zhou Mu’s hand and took a shortcut through the back hall towards the courtyard where Borjigin Nian resided.
"You’ve decided?" Zhou Mu’s low voice sounded behind Gu Changsheng.
"If soone knowingly lets my old dad and foster father be in danger without telling , even if to protect , I would undoubtedly hate them to the core!" Gu Changsheng spoke in a deep voice without turning his head, "Do not do unto others what you do not want done to yourself. To us, Borjigin Nian is more important than family, we cannot leave her in Great Zhou and let her unknowingly lose her father!"
"Alright." Zhou Mu heard this and, with a slight smile, responded softly.
Under the afterglow of the sunset, the figures of the two swiftly threaded through the Heavenly Palace Traveling Palace. Arriving at the courtyard where Borjigin Nian was supposed to be, they did not find her, but Gu Changsheng was not worried. He ordered to start packing Borjigin Nian’s belongings.
Since the belongings were of a girl, Zhou Mu felt it was inappropriate to handle them, so he stood at the door watching his own little woman lead several female officials busily back and forth.
On the evening streets of Capital City, as the sun set in the west and night fell, a woman riding on a nimble Gale Gu transford into a stream of light, weaving through the avenue.
"Ah! What was that? I felt a chill down my back just now!" A street vendor preparing to set up a night stall was startled.
"Look! That’s a ssenger Gu from the Southern Border!" Another person pointed to the distant figure of a person and snake weaving through the street, exclaiming.
"Heavens! Why is the Southern Country deploying the ssenger Gu so urgently to leave the city? I heard that the Crown Prince had a fight with his old father-in-law yesterday, could sothing have happened? Did the marriage between Great Zhou and Southern Country fall through?"
"Bah! Don’t talk nonsense! Seeing them in such a hurry certainly indicates sothing happened. But whatever it is, it doesn’t concern us! Doing business is what matters!"
"Indeed..."
"..."
The people chatted amongst themselves briefly, then went back to their own business. When the Southern Emperor had visited the city, they had seen the enormous Gu snake among the Southern Country’s procession. Now they were not quite as afraid.
After all, it is the unknown that humans fear the most. Once the veil of the unknown is lifted, all becos less terrifying.
The townsfolk admired and praised for a while, then went back to their own activities. As their stalls were set up, the sound of galloping horse hooves from afar accompanied by distant warnings drifted towards them.
"Dark Night Army marching, make way, citizens!"
"Dark Night Army marching, make way, citizens!"
"..."
Initially, soone didn’t react and stood foolishly in the street, then two vanguard female soldiers arrived swiftly, skillfully wrapping their whip around the person’s waist and tossing him to the side of the road.
The disoriented person got up, brushing off the mud on his clothes, and looked amazed.
"My goodness, whose young woman is this? From her attire, she doesn’t seem like a Southerner, yet her moves are so agile, tossing people out like feathers, and I was remarkably unscathed!"
"You fool! Didn’t you hear what they shouted at first? Dark Night Army marching! Dark Night Army!"
"Dark Night Army?"
As the people chattered noisily beside the road, several columns of cavalry swept past them on the street like a tempest, the sound of horse hooves striking the ground was eerily consistent, shaking the ground as if it reverberated alongside them. Dark red capes, dark red light armor, light crossbows, short daggers... various weapons hung on their bodies, and the expressions of the riders, both n and won, were resolute and dare not be stared at directly!
They seed able to sense the battlefield’s bloody aura enveloping them, fierce and ruthless, making even their breathing rapid.
"Dark Night Army! The army that could conquer cities with six won, that could confront a million tiger-wolf armies with only a hundred!"
"Southern Emperor Changsheng’s legitimate lineage personal guards! The Dark Night Army born from Great Zhou!"
"It’s really the Dark Night Army! Heaven! It’s truly the invincible and omnipotent Dark Night Army!"
"Weren’t they stationed outside the city conducting drills day and night? How did they enter the city?"
"So majestic, this, this is simply the most invincible force I’ve ever seen; their marching alone carries such a presence. If they go to war, wouldn’t that be sothing indescribable? No wonder they once created legendary battle achievents the Dark Night Army!"
"..."
Various words of admiration and reverence echoed into the ears of the n and won of the Dark Night Army, but they remained indifferent as they urged their horses anxiously towards the direction of the Heavenly Palace.
The orders they received were to be fully ard and imdiately head to the Heavenly Palace!
Following orders is the duty of the Dark Night Army!
Their master has summoned them, and now is the ti for them to fulfill the orders!
The Dark Night Army passed through the streets, stirring half of Capital City. Countless citizens stood at the street corners, fervently talking about the legendary existence of the Dark Night Army they had just seen!
The won in the Dark Night Army were charming and adorable yet possessed the courage to guard against a thousand n, while the n of the Dark Night Army were full of blood vigor, able to fight against a thousand...
At this mont, within the Heavenly Palace, Borjigin Nian, who had been pursuing Yue Xilou, was finally found by female officials and brought back to her own courtyard. As soon as Borjigin Nian arrived at the courtyard, she was stunned by the scene before her; her habitual items were in disarray, while the essentials had been packed into several streamlined bundles. Gu Changsheng was leading so female officials in sorting everything out in her courtyard.
"Gu Changsheng, what are you doing? Why are you rummaging through my things?" Borjigin Nian’s mind was flustered, and without another word, she dropped Yue Xilou and ran over.
"You’re back." Gu Changsheng turned his head to glance at Borjigin Nian, then instructed the female officials beside him, "Pack up quickly; unless it’s essential, everything else should not be packed!"
Yue Xilou, standing not far from the courtyard door, heard this and involuntarily furrowed his attractive brows.
After instructing the female officials, Gu Changsheng finally turned around, looked at Borjigin Nian standing beside him in anger, and spoke solemnly, "Nian, I’ve almost packed your belongings; you must leave now!"
"What do you an? I haven’t finished attending your and my senior brother’s wedding yet, you..." At this point, Borjigin Nian was startled, looking at Gu Changsheng in disbelief and spoke hesitantly, "You know?"
Yesterday, the Heavenly Palace held a banquet, where she received a ssenger from Northern Mongolian saying that her father king’s health was declining and urged her to return ho quickly.
She thought intently that if Gu Changsheng and her senior brother’s wedding date were set and near, she would wait to attend the wedding before returning since her father king’s health was never really good and often used it as a reason to summon her ho.
"Borjigin Nian, things are not as you think!" Gu Changsheng looked at the deep-features outsider beauty before him, who was the life-and-death friend of his; he reached out, grabbed her shoulder, and spoke urgently, "This ti, it’s truly a matter of life and death! Borjigin Nian, Zhou Mu and I have just received a personal letter from your father king; there’s an internal struggle for legitimate succession within the Qiyan Tribe of Northern Mongolian, your father king is trapped, and he has urgently requested us to keep you in Great Zhou by all ans, regardless of the situation, you cannot return to Northern Mongolian! However, Borjigin Nian, while Northern Mongolian remains undecided, your father king’s life is not in danger yet, but once the successor is established, your father king will truly be hanging by a thread!"
"What? No! It can’t be!" Upon hearing this, Borjigin Nian imdiately shook her head in disbelief, "Impossible! Gu Changsheng you’re lying to ! How could my father king send a ssage to you? My Qiyan Tribe is about nationality, most generous, how could there be a struggle for legitimate succession! It’s impossible! This is impossible!"
"Borjigin Nian, wake up! Royal power reigns supre! There’s nothing impossible!" Seeing this, Gu Changsheng imdiately grabbed Borjigin Nian’s arm, stabilizing her retreating figure, and shouted sternly.
Borjigin Nian was stunned by Gu Changsheng’s shouting; born into the Imperial Family but not raised there, she heard many rumors about the power struggles within the Royal Family. She was Mr. Di’s disciple, learning not only martial arts but also military tactics and strategies, she was not a naive princess...
Just then, Yhan Ting, Diao Chan, and several other Dark Night Army generals ca to the courtyard gate, reined in their horses and swiftly approached, kneeling on one knee and speaking solemnly.
"Subordinate greets the lord!"
"Subordinate greets the lord!"
"..."
Gu Changsheng glanced at them, then turned back to look at Borjigin Nian, speaking in a deep voice, "Nian! Zhou Mu and I are about to wed, this wedding is of great importance to Great Zhou and the Southern Country, garnering attention from all over, and cannot be missed! Nian, you once led the Dark Night Army in battles across the south and north; I now call upon the Dark Night Army to lend them to you, your belongings have been packed, you must depart imdiately, head back to North of the desert!"
As Gu Changsheng spoke, he grabbed several bundles nearby, took hold of the still dazed Borjigin Nian, and walked out of the courtyard. He lifted the bundles onto a horse, then turned back to Borjigin Nian, pulling out several tokens from his chest and stuffing them into her arms, speaking urgently, "Nian, this is Zhou Mu’s token; with this token, you can travel unimpeded within Great Zhou Territory!"
"This is my Changsheng’s Order; with this token, any dicinal firm that has benefited from my dical writings will provide you with herbs for your journey!"
"This is the Fengyun Order of the Itinerant World; the Itinerant World is everywhere, with this token, you can quickly understand the situation even if you reach North of the desert!"
