Behind Danyang was a troop of soldiers clad in armor; presumably, Danyang had gone back in her desperation to bring back reinforcents.
Danyang refused to allow Gu Shengyin to ride a horse again, and forcefully brought her to sit in a carriage on the way back.

"Let's go ho first," commanded the Great General, after informing the County Princess Danyang, personally escorting his daughter back to their mansion.
"My Ah Zhen!" Auntie Wen Cheng, having received the news earlier, had been eagerly waiting at the door. Upon seeing Gu Shengyin unscathed, her tears imdiately began to fall.
Gu Shengyin was at a loss; she had never experienced such familial affection before and could only clumsily embrace and console Eldest Princess Wen Cheng.
After so difficulty in calming her mother, Gu Shengyin was brought forward by the couple and they ticulously inquired about the whole incident.
