Lu Yu watched as her eyes circled the room and then, as if she had discovered a new continent, she excitedly exclaid, “Top Student Lu, you’re not studying!”
Lu Yu, puzzled by her revelation, raised an eyebrow and asked, “Why should I be studying?”
Gu Shengyin proudly said, “The senior said if I knocked on every room right now, you all would definitely be studying. I didn’t believe it, and sure enough, you’re not.”
Lu Yu imdiately understood what was going on. These words, no doubt, were ant to be taken seriously by soone like her.
At this mont, Lu Yu’s roommate spoke up, “You can’t compare Lu Yu with us ordinary folks. I’ve competed with him so many tis, and each ti, I stayed up late studying while he never even brought a book.”
The even more torturous truth was, every ti, this guy who never brought a book defeated all those who studied hard and always ca first.

Lu Yu couldn’t bother to even give him a glance, “Isn’t it quite normal to show concern for soone as naive as her?”
After a thought, he added, “Anyway, she has a boyfriend. You better not think too much and tarnish her reputation.”
As for who he was addressing with that comnt, whether to his roommate or to himself, it remained unclear.
“Senior!” Gu Shengyin pushed open the door.
Seeing her delighted face, the senior directly guessed, “Let guess, soone wasn’t studying?”
Gu Shengyin nodded her head.
The senior murmured to herself wisely and then continued, “That person must be Top Student Lu.”
Gu Shengyin widened her eyes, “How did you know!”
The senior, helplessly, replied, “Top Student Lu never carries books when he leaves his room; everyone knows that.”
She had just said it off-handedly; how was she to know Gu Shengyin would actually take it seriously?
Gu Shengyin sat down smiling, “I also didn’t bring any books.”
The senior feigned anger, “I know, Lu is an anomaly, and now there’s a little anomaly added to that.”
The few of them could represent the university in national competitions, and were top figures in the school, seen as scholars by others.
But so people are simply born to defeat others.
