“The previous marriage arrangent between the Yuen family and our Cheng family shall thus be abandoned,” Father Cheng said.
“As for your desire to pursue our Xi Xi…” Father Cheng looked at the spark in Yuan Xu’s eyes due to his words, “I won’t interfere with the young people’s affairs.”
Yuan Xu felt his heart settle down, as Father Cheng’s words ant that he wouldn’t stop him from being with Xi Xi.
Gu Shengyin was not interested in business, so she accepted Old Mr. De’s invitation to join an organization that was said to be the Hua Country Classical Culture and Arts Association. In the entire organization, aside from her, the youngest mbers already had snow-white hair.

The front desk was staffed by a very pretty girl, although Gu Shengyin found her unfamiliar and thought she must not have seen her before.
“May I ask, madam, do you have an appointnt?” the receptionist asked with a radiant smile.
Gu Shengyin shook her head, “No, you can tell your general manager’s secretary that Cheng Xizhi is here, she’ll know.”
The pretty receptionist’s eyes flickered with impatience. The Yuen Corporation was a large enterprise with many seeking favors. She hadn’t been working there long, but she had seen countless people co with excuses to try to see the general manager.
“I apologize, madam, but I can’t notify them without an appointnt.” The general manager’s secretary? That was a person she could not easily contact.
Gu Shengyin, of course, noticed the disdain in the receptionist’s eyes. She sighed silently to herself, not wishing to make her job tougher, turned, and walked to the rest area to call Yuan Xu on her mobile phone.
“I’m downstairs at your company… Yes, the new girl doesn’t recognize … Okay, bye.” Gu Shengyin hung up the phone and waited for soone sent by Yuan Xu to pick her up.
“Miss Cheng!” Gu Shengyin looked up to see one of the directors from Yuen Corporation.
“Mr. Zhang.” Gu Shengyin stood up to shake hands with him.
“Why aren’t you going up?” Chairman Zhang wondered.
The receptionist, upon seeing the usually aloof chairman interact kindly and personally greet the unfamiliar woman, realized things were not good. Fearing that Gu Shengyin might use this opportunity to complain about her, the position she had fought hard to secure could be gone in an instant.
However, Gu Shengyin rely smiled and said, “I’m a bit tired and decided to rest a bit before going up.”
Chairman Zhang nodded understandingly and left with a laugh, having matters to attend to elsewhere.
The receptionist was about to co over to apologize to Gu Shengyin when she saw a man walking towards Gu Shengyin.
