But seeing the pure joy and expectation on Gu Shengyin’s face, he hesitated for a mont, and then obediently lowered his head, biting into the candied haw.

The place he spoke of was the high platform of a tavern in the city.

Even the stars were scarce tonight.
Yu Wenrui simply smiled, “Look up.”
Following his instruction, Gu Shengyin looked up and a deafening noise startled her at first, but then she was utterly captivated by what appeared before her eyes.
Grande bursts of dazzling fireworks blood before her, trailing long, brilliant tails as they fell from the sky.
Standing at a high vantage point, Gu Shengyin saw so of the sparkler’s tails even seed to fall close to her.
She joyfully tried to catch them with her hands, only to discover that these beautiful little things turned into a pinch of ash that the wind easily dispersed when they landed in her hands.
But even more breathtaking fireworks started to burst forth in the sky.
“So beautiful!” She turned back and smiled at Yu Wenrui standing behind her.
Yu Wenrui was a bit dazed as he watched the woman across from him. She had a blooming beauty, standing slim and graceful, with the splendid fireworks of a prosperous age behind her.
In such a scene, with such a person, he thought, I will never forget this in my lifeti.
At that mont, Gu Shengyin suddenly walked towards him.
Then softly, she kissed him on the cheek.
“I read in a book, humans, use this to show their liking.”
