The hall doors silently opened, a sign from the person inside for her to enter.
Gu Shengyin walked in, familiar with the route.
The furnishings in the grand hall were all exquisitely luxurious. In the direction of the main seat was a square and upright White Jade Platform, upon which sat a figure in white.
This person in white appeared very young, barely into his twenties at a glance, but Gu Shengyin knew that he had looked this way for more than a decade already.
Perhaps even longer.
Nobody knew how many years the Great High Priest had lived; it seed he had always been living in the Xuantian Tower, guarding the vast Imperial City.

"Teacher," Gu Shengyin bowed formally toward him.
The eyes of the man in white opened.
As his eyes opened, the entire grand hall seed to brighten, and the face that had appeared sowhat blurred before was now clearly etched in Gu Shengyin’s eyes.
It was a face so stunningly handso that it was shocking. Every feature seed to have been carefully crafted by an artist; there was not a single flaw.
The only imperfection was that the eyes on this face were too calm, so calm that it seed as though nothing in this world could stir any ripple in them.
But that was only an appearance.
Because there was indeed one person who could do so.
Looking at his beloved little disciple, a gentle ripple finally stirred in the Great High Priest’s usually calm eyes. He spoke, "Linyin, have you co to see your teacher for sothing?"
His voice was as clear and resonant as the chi of jade breaking, exceptionally pleasing to hear, yet profoundly loneso.
