He didn’t know why, but a sense of disappointnt surged in his heart.

The knight who had been standing beside her suddenly had his eyes light up. He clasped his hands before his forehead and began to chant softly.
This was the oldest prayer chant passed down from ten thousand years ago. Everyone is taught these prayer words after birth, but nowadays, except for the truly devout believers, few genuinely use them anymore.
This knight, clearly, was a devoted believer.
Gu Shengyin could feel a faint, almost imperceptible energy flowing from the knight’s body into her own.
