(Planet Yamuna, Leo's POV)
It took several long monts for Leo to steady himself, as he slowly rose to his feet while forcing his breathing to even out and his voice to stop trembling.
"I'm assuming Chaosbringer left a contingency plan for to follow as well, in case he ever died unexpectedly..."
Leo said, as he kept his tone level despite the fatigue weighing behind it, while Number Seven lowered his head in confirmation.
"He did, Cult Master. If you would follow , I will debrief you aboard the Cult Ship."
Seven replied calmly, as his posture remained respectful yet composed.
Leo exhaled through his nose and blinked once, pushing aside the lingering haze clouding his thoughts.
"Lead the way."
He instructed quietly, as Seven turned without hesitation and began walking, while Leo followed a step behind.
Soon, the duo boarded a Cult Destroyer-class vessel that Leo had never seen before, as its structure imdiately felt different from the warships he was accustod to commanding.
There were no visible troop bays or heavy cargo holds along its internal layout, as the corridors instead led toward reinforced data cores and secured archival chambers, making it clear that this was not a combat carrier but a doomsday-grade preservation ship designed to safeguard information arrays and critical blueprints above all else.
"Please enter your biotrics here, Cult Master.
Once you do, the doomsday ssage that Lord Chaosbringer sent you should be visible as a hologram.
Till then, I will wait outside and give you so privacy."
Agent seven said, as he led Leo to a ssage reading room, where three blinking dots appeared on the screen to suggest that
Chaosbringer had uploaded three Doomsday ssages before passing away.
"Very well. You may wait outside."
Leo acknowledged, as he pressed his fingerprints on the digital scanner ahead, which imdiately prompted the ssage to load
before him.
*FWOOSH*
The hologram flickered once before stabilizing, as Chaosbringer's familiar figure stood upright before Leo, immaculate as always despite the faint tremor in the recorded background.
"My Lord, if you are viewing this ssage, it ans that I am likely already dead, and that one of the Cult's most important planets, either the Ti-Stilled World or Ixtal, has been destroyed completely.....
While not ideal, do not worry, for I have already planned for such a scenario and devised two ergency protocols to handle them correctly!"
He spoke calmly, as though briefing Leo before a routine campaign rather than from the edge of annihilation.
"The first protocol is ant for to be replaced by a competent group of underlings, which I call the Shadow Servant Protocol.
Over the past two decades, I have secretly trained thirteen extrely talented individuals to beco your servants, and as an extra precaution, I have ensured that none of these thirteen are normal humans, and that all of them are beast-humans whose identities are
difficult to falsify and whose individual traits differ greatly from one another."
"They each specialize in separate fields, and if used correctly, they can beco the pillar of the Cult's administrative departnt in the future.
Whether it is political assassination, diplomacy, complex project execution, or simple day-to-day assistance, they will be able to support you in all matters."
"With them beside you, I hope you will not feel my absence too
heavily, and that though none of them equal individually, together
they will be able to fill the gap I leave behind."
Chaosbringer briefed, as the first indicator on the console dimd,
and the second segnt began automatically.
"The second protocol I have activated is called the Dead Hand Protocol."
His tone hardened slightly.
"This will trigger a series of retaliatory strikes across the universe, ant to ensure that our enemies never gain a narrative upper hand.
And ensure that our populace doesn't get demoralised or think that we have beco toothless..."
"Over the past five years, I have instructed our agents to plant high-grade explosives in nurous key cities and strategic planets.
And exactly twenty-four hours after this protocol activates, simultaneous detonations will occur across the universe."
"Those who harm the Cult will never again enjoy narrative superiority or peaceful nights.
As whether it be the Mu Clan, the Du Clan, the other Great Clans, or even the Universal Governnt, there will not be a single power untouched under the dead hand protocol, as we will hit them all!" "If a single one of our core worlds burn, so too shall theirs."
"However, to drive the point ho, alongside the explosions, a ssage will also be circulated on the Galaxy Net, declaring that any attack on Cult citizens will be avenged a hundredfold.
The ssage will be phrased in a way that instigates maximum panic, as it will make the Righteous Citizens believe that we have infiltrated all their institutions, and that none of them are safe from our wrath
anymore."
"The goal is to make the Righteous Faction believe that this is a new era of Cult Leadership under you.
And that, under this new era, the Cult doesn't strike just once a
decade, or once a century.
But rather strikes aggressively and without fear of retaliation, which
makes us dangerous to provoke."
The second indicator blinked out.
A final holographic file loaded.
Chaosbringer stood closer to the projection lens this ti, as the
background behind him shook faintly.
"My Lord, if this ssage reaches you at all, then it ans I have likely
fallen."
"Please do not be enraged at my loss or seek to avenge rashly. That
is not my wish."
"It was the greatest honor of my life to serve you, and if destiny allows, I would gladly do it all again."
"Until then... this is Chaosbringer signing off."
Chaosbringer said, as the hologram dissolved slowly into light, and
silence filled the room once more.
Leo remained motionless for several long seconds, as the weight of strategy and farewell pressed against him simultaneously.
"Chaosbringer..."
He muttered quietly, as grief tightened in his chest once more.
"In my darkest hours, it was my honor to have you by my side, my
friend."
His jaw clenched as he stared at the empty air where the projection had stood. "Hopefully... we will et again soday!"
