Jin Jumo ca out of the bathroom and saw Rong Mochen wrapped up like a silkworm cocoon.
Feiran’s lips curved into a slight smile as Rong Mochen walked over, sat on the edge of the bed, and silently stared at the cocoon for a while before smiling and saying, "Not going to wash up?"
There was no movent from under the blanket for a long ti, and just as Rong Mochen was about to reach out and lift a corner, a soft white hand slowly erged, followed by a blushing little face.
Having just co out from under the blanket, Jin Jumo’s long smooth hair was sowhat tousled, and beneath the ssy strands, a pair of water-filled peach blossom eyes flickered, with swollen lips gently trembling, finally managing to squeeze out a few words, "You go out first."
Rong Mochen found her reaction truly adorable and amusing. With his eyebrows raised high, he deliberately teased her, yet remained seriously playful as he asked, "I heard you call out just now. Did I hurt you?"
"..."
Jin Jumo’s cheeks visibly trembled, blushing as she looked at him with embarrassnt, "I, when did I... call out."
Rong Mochen leisurely watched Jin Jumo, and his expression, falling upon her eyes, clearly implied he was convinced she had.
Jin Jumo stared wide-eyed, rendered speechless by his reaction.
Not soone who easily gets shy, she now just wanted to hide under the covers again.
Rong Mochen understood the importance of knowing when to stop. He smiled, pinched Jin Jumo’s chin, and then got up and left the room.
Watching him leave, Jin Jumo used the corner of the blanket to cover half her face, gently exhaling.
The lingering ambiguous atmosphere in the air and the sensory remnants of the experience felt as though they had just... really been...
But they hadn’t!
With her cheeks burning red hot, unable to bear it, Jin Jumo swiftly tossed off the blanket and hurried into the bathroom.
The next morning, Jin Jumo took Xixi and Hanhan to Xinfu Kindergarten.
Standing at the entrance, she watched as the two little ones held hands, following the teacher into the classroom. As she turned to leave, her eye sensitively caught a flash.
Jin Jumo frowned and looked towards the flash, spotting a man in a peaked cap suspiciously leaning against a car, holding a cara and snapping away at her.
Even seeing Jin Jumo looking at him, the man didn’t avoid or hide; instead, he took more blatant photos.
Jin Jumo’s eyes glimred with coldness as she solemnly walked towards the man.
Despite this, the man continued taking pictures zealously.
Jin Jumo’s lips were tightly pursed, her eyes filled with greater chill.
Seeing Jin Jumo close to within two or three ters of him, the man finally casually turned and was just about to run across the road.
Jin Jumo’s eyes narrowed, and she was about to quickly chase after him, but suddenly heard the man let out a cry, clutching his knee and slumping to the ground.
Jin Jumo was slightly startled and halted her steps.
Soon, a tall and formidable figure appeared before her.
Jin Jumo drew a light breath, watching as a cold-faced man leisurely stepped towards the man on the ground.
In plain sight, Jin Jumo saw his thin lips creep into a sinister smile, as he then pressed a foot onto the man’s arm holding the cara.
The man cried out in pain.
Jin Jumo swallowed her throat, watching as the man disdainfully kicked the one on the ground away, then elegantly glanced at Jin Jumo with a look.
Jin Jumo furrowed her brows, quietly observing the man.
The man crooked his lips, his naturally cold and hard features making his handso face seem eerie even when smiling.
He raised his hand and waved, prompting two n to step forward. One lifted the man from the ground, while the other picked up the cara from the ground and respectfully handed it to the man, before both carried the photographer towards a secluded alley near Xinfu Kindergarten.
Jin Jumo watched the man being taken away, lips pursed tightly.
"Little Mo, aren’t you coming over?" The man spoke softly but firmly, his eyes seemingly still curled with a smile, appearing gentle.
Jin Jumo glanced at the cara in his hand and walked over.
Standing before the man, Jin Jumo remained composed, "Thank you, Mr. Mu."
Jin Jumo said this while looking at the cara in Mu Qinnian’s hand, thankful for him retrieving it.
Mu Qinnian spread his hands and handed the cara to Jin Jumo.
Jin Jumo furrowed her brow and received it, one by one scrolling through the photos inside the cara, finding pictures of herself, as well as Xixi and Hanhan, both front and back.
Jin Jumo furrowed her brows deeply, deleted the photos cleanly from the cara, then looked up at Mu Qinnian.
She didn’t expect Mu Qinnian to be looking at her, his dark eyes like the depths of an ocean, causing tiny ripples when she looked his way.
Jin Jumo held her breath and looked again in the direction where the man was taken away, "He probably took money to do soone’s bidding, Mr. Mu should give him a lesson and let him go."
Mu Qinnian suddenly laughed, "Do you want to beat him too?"
"Just don’t be too harsh," Jin Jumo said lightly.
"Alright, I’ll listen to you." Mu Qinnian said, naturally gripping Jin Jumo’s wrist and guiding her towards the car.
Jin Jumo was startled and asked, "Mr. Mu, where are you taking ?"
Mu Qinnian glanced back at her, calmly saying, "I ca here early to wait, but haven’t had breakfast yet. Co and join ."
Mu Qinnian opened the passenger door, coldly gazing back at Jin Jumo with a faint smile on his lips.
Jin Jumo furrowed her brows, staring back at him, her peach blossom eyes exuding a rebellious intent, "Mr. Mu, you keep appearing before , what exactly is your purpose?"
Mu Qinnian seemingly fondly touched Jin Jumo’s hair, and the more indifferent and distant she was, the gentler his tone beca, "Don’t worry, when the ti is right, I will tell you."
Jin Jumo furrowed her brows even deeper, "If I refuse to get in the car, would Mr. Mu use force to drag in?"
Mu Qinnian was amused by her words, "Maybe."
Jin Jumo gritted her teeth, shook off his hand, and got in.
Mu Qinnian stood outside the car, smiling as he stared at her face filled with indignant endurance for a mont before closing the car door and getting into the driver’s seat.
"Seatbelt." Mu Qinnian glanced at Jin Jumo, reminding her.
Jin Jumo looked at him.
Mu Qinnian sighed softly and leaned over to fasten her seatbelt.
Jin Jumo slled the light mint scent on him, her eyes slightly anxious, and her low voice filled with doubt, "Mr. Mu, have we t before?"
"No," Mu Qinnian said affirmatively.
"Since we’re strangers, what is it that Mr. Mu wants to confirm with ?" Jin Jumo asked.
Mu Qinnian lightly tapped the steering wheel with his hands, his cold eyes fixed on Jin Jumo, "Little Mo, you don’t need to be so defensive and nervous around , I won’t harm you."
"Won’t you? Then why won’t Mr. Mu just tell your purpose directly?" Jin Jumo said softly.
Mu Qinnian pressed his lips, raised an eyebrow, "Really want to know?"
Jin Jumo’s eyes flickered, then looked at him with determination and nodded.
"Alright. I’ll tell you," Mu Qinnian said.
Jin Jumo held her breath.
Mu Qinnian looked at Jin Jumo’s serious expression, his deep eyes slightly narrowing, "But not here."
With that, Mu Qinnian started the car, and as the tires slid over the ground with a whispering sound, his distinctive deep voice reached her, "After breakfast, we’ll find a suitable place to talk, and I’ll tell you."
Jin Jumo’s eyes flickered, "I know a place where you can have breakfast and it’s quite suitable for a conversation."
Mu Qinnian didn’t look at Jin Jumo, but the corners of his mouth lifted, "You’re still afraid of ."
Jin Jumo kept silent.
The place Jin Jumo chose was a unique breakfast-only restaurant near the apartnt.
At this ti, it was past the restaurant’s busiest hour, so there weren’t many custors now.
Mu Qinnian and Jin Jumo sat facing each other near the window.
Mu Qinnian seed very picky about food, flipping through the nu back and forth several tis before finally deciding what to order.
Watching the waiter leave with the nu, Jin Jumo looked at Mu Qinnian, "Mr. Mu..."
"Don’t rush." Mu Qinnian glanced at Jin Jumo, a gentle smile on his lips, "Let’s wait until I finish breakfast."
Jin Jumo bit her lip and didn’t speak again.
By the ti Mu Qinnian finished breakfast, half an hour had passed.
The waiter cleaned up the table and brought two drinks.
Mu Qinnian tapped the drink in front of him, squinting at Jin Jumo’s small face which was obviously growing extrely impatient, smirked lightly, but didn’t speak.
Jin Jumo frowned, "Can Mr. Mu speak now?"
Mu Qinnian turned to look out the window, and after a long silence, his ghostly cold voice ca, "Wait a bit longer."
"Mu..."
"Young Master Mu." Jin Jumo’s words were interrupted by another voice.
Turning her eyes to the man quickly walking over, Jin Jumo’s eyes filled with doubt.
Mu Qinnian was still looking out the window, "Put it down."
"Yes." The man placed the docunt envelope he was holding on the table with both hands and left.
Jin Jumo couldn’t help but be drawn to the docunt envelope on the table.
Mu Qinnian turned around now, his expression surprisingly serious and eerie, staring at Jin Jumo, "Open it."
Jin Jumo was stunned, looking at Mu Qinnian in confusion, yet was startled by his stern cold expression.
"Didn’t you want to know why I was looking for you? Open it, and you’ll find out." Mu Qinnian’s voice carried a hint of eerie coldness.
Jin Jumo was sowhat nervous.
She stared at the docunt envelope on the table for a long ti before slowly reaching out, picking up the envelope.
The docunt envelope was rather old-fashioned, sealed with wax.
Jin Jumo reached for the seal, took a deep breath, and tore it open.
She took out the docunts from the envelope, and upon seeing the title on the cover, her eyes narrowed.
"DNA Identification Report..." Jin Jumo murmured, her throat trembling slightly, lifting her eyes to look at Mu Qinnian.
"Look at the contents inside," Mu Qinnian said expressionlessly.
Jin Jumo swallowed, flipped open the docunt, and upon seeing her na alongside Mu Qinnian’s on the title page, her heart jumped to her throat suddenly.
