Rong Mochen’s gaze was calm as he glanced at the doorway.
Wen Fu appeared at the door holding a cup of black coffee. Hearing Lei Yicheng and Gu Yan’s conversation, her face showed slight surprise. She hurriedly said, "I’ll get right on it."
Then, Wen Fu quickly stepped forward, placed the black coffee on Rong Mochen’s desk, and swiftly turned to leave.
Gu Yan glanced sideways at Wen Fu, curled his lips, and said, "Boss Rong, does your special assistant only recognize you? Lei the Second and I have been here for so long, and she hadn’t thought to offer either of us a cup of tea or sothing, acting like we don’t exist."
Lei Yicheng heard this, and a faint smile tugged at his lips.
Rong Mochen rely frowned and sat down in his executive chair.
"Could it be that Fu Mulan has so sort of clairvoyant ability? We clearly confird her location beforehand, and no one raised the alarm. How did she know we were going to catch her?" Gu Yan closed his eyes, biting back his frustration as he said this angrily.
Rong Mochen said nothing, his dark eyes intently watching as Wen Fu walked in from the doorway holding tea and coffee.
Wen Fu, oblivious to the conversation around her, clearly placed the tea and coffee in front of Lei Yicheng and Gu Yan, turned, and walked out, even considerately closing the office door behind her.
A cold glint flashed through Rong Mochen’s eyes.
Lei Yicheng noticed, his thick brows furrowing slightly, "Mochen, are you dissatisfied with your special assistant?"
Rong Mochen glanced at him, then frowned deeply, pushing the black coffee far from his hands, his tone unruffled, "As far as work ability is concerned, she is more qualified for the position of special assistant than Gu Yan."
Gu Yan clutched his chest, hurt, and opened his eyes to look at Rong Mochen, "Boss Rong, could you not say such pride-wounding words right to my face?"
Lei Yicheng smiled gently, sympathetically looking at Gu Yan, "Right, if you can’t even master your signature skill, what else can you excel in?"
Holy crap!
Gu Yan gritted his teeth, saying hatefully, "If you’ve got the guts, never co to for help again!" A bunch of lousy friends!
Lei Yicheng raised an eyebrow, symbolically offering comfort, "Co on, why make such a big deal over nothing? Just joshing you a bit."
"Do I freaking need soone to tease ?"
Gu Yan, annoyed, grabbed a cushion and covered his head, "Don’t talk to , I’m exhausted!"
Lei Yicheng reached out and patted his calf. Gu Yan mumbled, "Get lost!"
Lei Yicheng shrugged indifferently and looked towards Rong Mochen, "I’ve had soone check the airport exit records and the comings and goings at the train station; Fu Mulan hasn’t left Z City yet."
Pausing, Lei Yicheng’s voice turned stern and fierce, "As long as she’s still in Z City, I’ll dig her out of the ground if I have to!"
Rong Mochen fell silent for a mont, his dark eyes sweeping towards the direction of the office door, speaking heavily, "Yes, we cannot let her escape again!"
Lei Yicheng’s gaze shifted slightly, he too glanced at the door, pursed his lips, then looked back at Rong Mochen, squinting, "Don’t worry!"
Lei Yicheng and Gu Yan hadn’t been gone from the Rong Family for long when Rong Zhengfeng arrived.
Rong Mochen watched Rong Zhengfeng with a casual deanor, his lips lightly pressed together.
Rong Zhengfeng frowned, with heavy dark circles under his eyes, sat down on the sofa with a grievous aura, and said nothing.
After quite a while, Rong Mochen slowly opened his mouth, "What’s wrong?"
What’s wrong, what’s wrong...
Rong Zhengfeng glared at him angrily, "You tell what’s wrong? You are both over thirty years old and still have no children, and you’re not even embarrassed! If it were , I’d be so ashad I’d jump into the Huangpu River!"
Rong Mochen, "..."
Seeing Rong Mochen sulk in silence once again, Rong Zhengfeng was so angry he nearly suffered a heart attack, glaring at him, "I bet I’ll never see the shadow of a great-grandchild before I close my eyes!"
"..."
Rong Mochen frowned, staring at Rong Zhengfeng, "Your health is strong, you’ll live to a ripe old age."
"Live to a ripe old age, huh..." Rong Zhengfeng chuckled angrily, "At this rate, one of these days I’ll probably be infuriated to death by you two brothers!"
Rong Mochen pressed his lips together, taking a mont before saying, "What got you so worked up today?"
Rong Zhengfeng paused, looking at Rong Mochen with ill temper, "Was it only today that I got worked up?"
Rong Mochen fell silent.
Rong Zhengfeng glared at Rong Mochen for a while, his expression suddenly passing with sadness, the flas around him subsiding as he lowered his eyes miserably, his voice weak, "Mochen, Grandpa is old, really old."
Rong Mochen’s throat moved slightly, looking at Rong Zhengfeng, "Grandpa, you’re still going strong..."
"That’s a lie, still going strong... How could I ever keep up with you young folks, no matter how robust my body is?"
Rong Zhengfeng looked at Rong Mochen, "Grandpa’s more than half in the grave already. Living in this world, I have no other requests, just the hope of seeing you and your brother start families, have wives and children. Truly, that’s my only request!"
Rong Mochen’s brow furrowed even more tightly, "It will be soon."
Rong Zhengfeng waved his hand, "Don’t give unwarranted hope."
Although he knew Rong Zhengfeng was playing the sympathy card to appeal to his emotions, Rong Mochen still felt a heaviness in his heart.
Standing up, Rong Mochen walked to Rong Zhengfeng’s side and sat down, only to realize that the tall figure he used to look up to as a child had beco hunched with age, no longer as strong as before. Sitting beside him, his body could completely block him from view.
Rong Mochen’s eyes grew even deeper, yet he didn’t know what to say at this mont.
Rong Zhengfeng had intended from the start to play the family card, but seeing Rong Mochen’s tense and solemn face, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
Just as Rong Zhengfeng was about to speak to break the suffocating atmosphere between them and once again compromise with the younger generation, Rong Mochen spoke first, "Grandfather, so things aren’t urgent."
Rong Zhengfeng, "..."
The tender spot in his heart, which had just softened, was suddenly agitated by Rong Mochen’s words, sending anger rolling up from his chest as he glared at Rong Mochen and roared, "It’s easy for you to say, you’re not the one turning eighty soon!"
Rong Mochen looked at Rong Zhengfeng, whose face had suddenly beco invigorated with anger, and a trace of a faint smile flashed through his dark eyes.
Rong Zhengfeng was truly angry, truly exasperated.
Afraid that if he didn’t leave, he’d have to be carried out by an ambulance, Rong Zhengfeng gave Rong Mochen a hard glare and left the Rong Family with a livid face.
Coming out from the Rong Family, Rong Zhengfeng directly instructed Li Li to drive to the tea restaurant they visited yesterday.
Arriving at the tea restaurant, Rong Zhengfeng sat in his seat, clearly absent-minded, and his once awe-inspiring eyes occasionally scanned around, as if looking for sothing.
Li Li, sitting across from him, pursed his lips and said, "Old Master, are you looking for the two kids you t here yesterday?"
"Yeah, I wonder if that girl’s forehead bruise has gone down." Rong Zhengfeng glanced at Li Li and said.
"It wouldn’t have healed that quickly." Li Li said with a smile.
Rong Zhengfeng’s eyebrows instantly furrowed, and he glared at Li Li, "Can’t you speak properly?"
Li Li, "..." What did he do wrong?
"Are you trying to make more worried? What kind of person are you?" Rong Zhengfeng huffed.
Li Li’s face twitched. So, these days, you’re not allowed to speak the truth, right?
Rong Zhengfeng sat there again with a worried expression for a while, suddenly pointed at Li Li, and said, "Call her and tell her to co over!"
Li Li was a bit puzzled, "Call who?"
"Jin, who else!" Rong Zhengfeng said impatiently, giving Li Li a disdainful look, "Fool!"
Li Li, "..."
All right, he got it. No matter what he says now, it’s wrong!
Li Li, "..." All right, he understood. No matter what he says now, it’s wrong!
Li Li took out his phone and realized he did not have Jin Jumo’s number when he scrolled through his contacts.
Rong Zhengfeng saw him in a daze, not moving, and urged impatiently, "What are you staring for, make the call!"
"...I don’t have Miss Jin’s number," Li Li said reluctantly.
Rong Zhengfeng was stunned, then angrily said, "She said she’s willing to have tea with but didn’t even leave her number. I think she’s just scared I’d actually call her to accompany this old fool. Hypocrite!"
Li Li’s mouth twitched as he looked at Rong Zhengfeng and said, "Old Master, you don’t seem well today. Maybe you should go back to rest and arrange to et Miss Jin for tea another day."
"I’m not going back, I’m staying right here!" Rong Zhengfeng said.
"Old Master..."
"Can you shut up, you’re so annoying!" Rong Zhengfeng glared at him displeased.
Li Li genuinely felt that his job was becoming increasingly difficult!
The phone on the bedside table had rung more than ten tis. An arm, pale as white lotus root, stretched out from under the blanket, groped for the phone, picked it up, and answered without even glancing at it.
"Momo, you finally answered!" As soon as the call connected, a man’s relieved and happy voice ca from the phone.
Jin Jumo frowned, her tightly shut almond-shaped eyes opened a narrow slit. She lifted the phone in front of her eyes to look at the caller, and upon seeing Gao Qi’s na, Jin Jumo’s eyes suddenly opened wide with a trace of clarity, "Director."
"Momo, please don’t call that, just call Gao Qi." Gao Qi said cheerfully.
Jin Jumo moistened her dry lips, "Gao Qi, do you need sothing?"
"Momo, do you have ti now? Can you co out to et ?" Gao Qi’s voice carried a hint of apprehension.
"Is it to discuss sothing?" Jin Jumo asked.
"...Yes, you haven’t read the script yet, and I thought I could hand it to you now and discuss the show with you," Gao Qi’s voice suddenly beca cautious and nervous, "Can you co out?"
"Now?" Jin Jumo said.
"...Is that okay?" Gao Qi asked.
