"Mm." Hao Hao pursed his little lips, blushing as he swiftly kissed Jian Liangtong on the cheek.

Jian Liangtong was taken aback, but her glistening almond eyes quickly brimd with a deep smile.

She hugged Hao Hao for a while.

Jian Liangtong then led Hao Hao to stand up, her bright eyes fixated on Ruan Chen, who had considerately stood aside and didn’t disturb their reunion, "Thank you for bringing Hao Hao to , and thank you for taking care of him these past days."

Ruan Chen’s deep eyes flickered with surprise, and he smiled at Jian Liangtong, saying, "I thought you’d be angry with for bringing Hao Hao here without your consent."

Jian Liangtong smiled warmly, "Hao Hao is my son. Since his birth, except for this ti, we have never been apart for such a long ti. I missed him terribly. I’m too grateful that you brought him to to even think about blaming you."

Hearing Jian Liangtong’s words.

Ruan Chen’s eyes squinted a little, with a slight curl at the corner of his mouth, staring at Jian Liangtong without speaking.

Perhaps Ruan Chen had to handle so urgent business in Z City, as there was already a vehicle waiting for him outside the airport.

They got in the car.

Ruan Chen sat in the front passenger seat, while Jian Liangtong and Hao Hao sat in the back seat.

Ruan Chen watched Jian Liangtong and Hao Hao through the rear-view mirror, the comforting scene of the big and small figures huddled together, talking softly.

Ruan Chen’s gaze at them naturally softened, and he asked gently, "I have so work to take care of this morning. Should I drop you and Hao Hao at your place or sowhere else first?"

"You have work to do?" Jian Liangtong looked up, eyeing Ruan Chen.

Ruan Chen nodded warmly, "Did you think I just brought Hao Hao to you on purpose?"

Uh...

Honestly, she truly thought that.

After all, he had been looking after Hao Hao for quite a while.

Even though Hao Hao was well-behaved, he certainly caused so inconvenience.

And Ruan Chen is known to be a workaholic.

So, him bringing Hao Hao directly wouldn’t surprise her.

Jian Liangtong pursed her lips, "Your work is important. There’s no need to drop us off first; we can get off and take a taxi ho."

"No way." Ruan Chen frowned, resolutely saying it with a rather serious look.

Jian Liangtong was slightly taken aback.

"I’m taking you and Hao Hao first." Ruan Chen insisted.

Jian Liangtong, "..."

"Where to?"

"... Four Seasons District."

When the car stopped below the Four Seasons District, Jian Liangtong helped Hao Hao out, intending to say goodbye to Ruan Chen, but found he was getting out as well.

Jian Liangtong’s eyelid twitched slightly as she looked at him.

Ruan Chen approached her, glanced at the district, and smiled, "Is this where you’ve lived since childhood?"

Jian Liangtong lowered her eyelids, "Kind of."

Ruan Chen stared at her, "I might stay here for a while this ti, is that okay?"

Ruan Chen’s eyes shifted to Hao Hao standing next to her.

Jian Liangtong was montarily bewildered but then understood the aning behind his words as he looked at Hao Hao.

She tightened her lips, her eyes reflecting a complex mix.

After a mont, she lightly shook her head.

Ruan Chen’s gaze deepened as he looked at her, and after several seconds, he said, "I’ll be in Z City during this ti. If anything cos up, rember to contact ."

Jian Liangtong felt a slight stir in her heart, a flicker of touch passing through her almond eyes as she looked at Ruan Chen, "Thank you."

Ruan Chen squinted, reached out to pat Jian Liangtong’s shoulder, and then grasped it for a second as he left.

Jian Liangtong’s eyelashes trembled lightly.

"I’m off." Ruan Chen said.

"...Mm." Jian Liangtong smiled weakly at him.

No matter what.

Ruan Chen was helping her.

She couldn’t respond coldly to soone who had helped her.

Seeing the curve of Jian Liangtong’s lips, Ruan Chen’s eyes darkened slightly. He lingered on her for a mont before turning and getting back in the car.

Jian Liangtong held Hao Hao’s hand, standing by the road, watching Ruan Chen’s car leave, before the pair headed into the district.

As the elevator doors opened in front of her, Jian Liangtong was about to step in with Hao Hao, but suddenly withdrew her leg.

Hao Hao paused in confusion, looking up at Jian Liangtong with an innocent gaze.

Jian Liangtong took a breath, like she suddenly rembered sothing, looking down at Hao Hao, "Son, are you hungry?"

"No..."

"Yes, you are, right? Let’s go eat fried chicken." Jian Liangtong interrupted him.

Hao Hao’s corners of his mouth twitched, a few drops of black lines seed to fall from his forehead.

Sitting in a fast-food restaurant not far from the district, Jian Liangtong rested her elbow on the table, nervously biting her nails.

Hao Hao eyed the large bucket of fried chicken and big fries on the table, his chubby little face scrunching into a bun.

Not hungry at all, Hao Hao reluctantly ate a piece of fried chicken and half a packet of fries before he couldn’t eat anymore.

Frowning with difficulty, Hao Hao looked at Jian Liangtong, "Mom, you’re not eating?"

Jian Liangtong was startled, looking at Hao Hao, "I’m not hungry, you eat."

"..." How much could he eat?

Hao Hao looked at Jian Liangtong, who was lost in thought and distracted, and sighed inwardly, suggesting, "Mom, let’s pack up. We can eat at ho with Grandma and Grandpa."

"We can’t go ho now." Jian Liangtong suddenly said out of nowhere.

Hao Hao, "..."

"Why can’t we go ho?" Hao Hao asked in confusion.

"..." Jian Liangtong opened her mouth but couldn’t find the words to say.

Hao Hao was confused.

But he didn’t ask further.

He sat patiently for quite a while longer.

Finally, Hao Hao couldn’t help but say, "Mom, how long are we going to sit here?"

Isn’t it strange?

The two of us ordered so much fried chicken, it’s just sitting on the table and we’re staring blankly.

Jian Liangtong looked at Hao Hao in confusion.

With a look of "I don’t know either."

Hao Hao, "..."

Hao Hao folded his arms, raised his eyebrows, and stared seriously at Jian Liangtong. His childish voice carried a certain determination, "Jian Xiaotong, if you don’t tell why we’re sitting here foolishly and can’t go ho, I’m going to leave."

"..." Jian Liangtong looked at Hao Hao’s serious little expression, sat up slightly, and looked at him with eyes sparkling, unmistakably amused, "You’re going to leave? Where to?"

Hao Hao pouted, a bit annoyed as he glared at Jian Liangtong, but his tone had a hint of pride, "You don’t think I don’t know how to get ho, do you? You’re underestimating ."

Jian Liangtong pressed her lips together, barely able to hold back her laughter, her gaze filled with a mix of dote and tenderness for Hao Hao.

Hao Hao usually behaves so maturely in front of her that she often feels he’s too sensible to be just a four-year-old child.

He doesn’t cling to his mother asking for toys like other children his age.

Nor does he insist she play with him.

In front of her.

He acts like a little man. Since he gained so awareness, Jian Liangtong rarely sees him cry in front of her.

Even when he’s about to burst, he just gets red-eyed.

So, when Hao Hao exhibits such childlike behavior as now, Jian Liangtong cherishes it greatly and is very pleased.

In the end, Hao Hao blushed under Jian Liangtong’s gaze, his angry eyes turning bashful and unable to et her eyes.

He lifted his little chin, grumbled, and turned his gaze away.

Jian Liangtong reached out to stroke Hao Hao’s head, "Mom will make a call. Once I’m done, I’ll tell you when we’ll go back, okay?"

Hao Hao blinked uncertainly, turning his gaze to Jian Liangtong.

Jian Liangtong took out her phone, dialed the landline number at ho.

The call was quickly answered.

"Tongtong." Jian Ningfeng’s voice ca smiling through the phone.

Jian Liangtong lowered her lashes, "Dad, are you and Mom at ho?"

Jian Ningfeng laughed, "It’s almost noon, your mom is in the kitchen making lunch. Where did you go? When are you coming ho?"

"...Soon," Jian Liangtong said softly.

After a brief pause, Jian Liangtong continued, "Dad, is it just you and Mom at ho?"

"..." It seed odd for Jian Liangtong to ask this suddenly.

Jian Ningfeng was silent for a while.

When he finally spoke, his voice was cheerful, "Who else would be here besides and your mom? You, kid, hurry up and co ho, lunch is almost ready."

"Ok."

Upon hearing Jian Ningfeng’s reply, Jian Liangtong imdiately agreed with delight.

This left Jian Ningfeng on the other end bewildered.

She hung up the phone.

Jian Liangtong imdiately called the waiter, packed up the fried chicken and fries and left the fast-food restaurant with Hao Hao, looking relaxed.

Jian Chenghao glanced at Jian Liangtong several tis, puzzled.

Standing in front of their house.

Jian Liangtong took out her key, about to unlock the door, when she thought of sothing and put the key away again.

She looked down, excitedly at Hao Hao, and said, "Grandma and Grandpa don’t know you’re back yet. Let’s give them a surprise."

Hao Hao twitched his mouth, looking at Jian Liangtong and saying nothing.

She always pulls this trick!

Jian Liangtong imagined the surprised expressions of Jian Ningfeng and He Xinyun and couldn’t help but laugh a few tis herself.

Hao Hao, "..."

Thus, Jian Liangtong made Hao Hao stand behind her.

And carefully checked to make sure he couldn’t be seen from the front, then stood up straight.

Instead of using the key to unlock the door, she reached out and pressed the doorbell twice.

Around four or five seconds later.

The door swung open in front of Jian Liangtong.

What ca into view was not Jian Ningfeng and He Xinyun, but...

Jian Liangtong’s lightly smiling face was suddenly struck by thunder, her expression crumbled, with her heart stopping its beats for ten seconds.

"You’re back."

Huo Chengjin looked at Jian Liangtong gently, wearing a snow-white shirt and simple black trousers.

The sleeves of the shirt were rolled up to the elbows, exposing his lean arms.

But he was wearing a red apron decorated with elegant peonies on his chest...

Jian Liangtong’s cheeks lost all color, her throat seed to drum, "You, why are you here?"

Huo Chengjin’s handso face had a trace of blush, his lips slightly curving as he reached out to pull Jian Liangtong into the house.

Yet when he grabbed her arm and pulled forward, he found Jian Liangtong was stiff as a rock, not moving an inch.

Huo Chengjin paused, his long eyes flashing with suspicion, staring at Jian Liangtong, "What’s the matter?"

Jian Liangtong forced her lips to move, her expression as stiff as could be, "Nothing, you go in first."

Huo Chengjin frowned, not moving, squinting as he scrutinized Jian Liangtong.

Huo Chengjin, after all, was the general manager of Huo Group; rumors of the youngest Huo son being astute and ruthless were not unfounded.

So seeing Jian Liangtong this way, he knew sothing must be up with her.
