"So, are we a couple now?" Huo Shaojun asked, his deep ocean-like eyes firmly fixed on Jian Liangtong.

Jian Liangtong’s throat hitched, and her eyes avoided his gaze.

Huo Shaojun felt as if his breath was frozen by sothing.

He gripped Jian Liangtong’s wrist tighter, "Last night..."

"Isn’t it normal for such things to happen between a man and a woman?"

Jian Liangtong looked at him, her pupils slightly constricted, and spoke softly.

Was she suggesting... a one-night stand?

Huo Shaojun’s somber face quickly turned cold, staring intensely at Jian Liangtong with eyes that were both ominous and sharp.

Jian Liangtong’s eyelashes fluttered rapidly as she averted her gaze from his face, "We’re all adults, so things really don’t need to be taken seriously. Just because sothing happened, doesn’t an we have to be responsible for each other, right?"

"Jian Liangtong..."

"My dad has to work overti today and can’t pick up Hao Hao from kindergarten. My mom has to go to the market to buy groceries for dinner. So I have to pick up Hao Hao. If you have business to attend to..."

"You don’t have to deliberately say such things to intentionally distance yourself from , denying the intimacy between us. I’m not in a hurry to demand that you willingly stay with right now," Huo Shaojun said coldly.

Jian Liangtong swallowed, "Let’s go pick up Hao Hao."

Huo Shaojun’s pupils held a dark glint, his sharply defined face icy as he stared at Jian Liangtong for a few seconds, lips pressed tight, saying nothing as he drove towards the kindergarten.

However, Jian Liangtong clearly felt the fluctuations in speed were a bit excessive.

...

Jian Liangtong and Huo Shaojun went together to pick up Hao Hao from school, which greatly surprised him.

In the car, he lay on Jian Liangtong with excitent, his bright black eyes gleaming, "Mom, Grandma said you didn’t co ho last night, were you with Dad?"

Jian Liangtong patted his head, "Did anything interesting happen at kindergarten today? Tell mom about it."

Jian Liangtong didn’t directly answer Hao Hao’s question, instead, she said this.

As soon as she finished speaking, she felt a deep gaze piercing her body.

Jian Liangtong’s eyelashes drooped rapidly, and she imdiately lowered them further.

"Xixi and Brother brought Jiu Jiu to school today. Jiu Jiu is much chubbier than Xixi was when she was young." Hao Hao’s eyes sparkled as he suddenly looked at Jian Liangtong, "Mom, can you give a chubby little sister too?"

Jian Liangtong was suddenly embarrassed, her ears burning hot.

Upon hearing Hao Hao’s words, Huo Shaojun’s cold eyes under his sunglasses darkened deeply as he looked at Jian Liangtong.

"Well, having Hao Hao is enough for mom," Jian Liangtong stamred.

"But I want a sister," Hao Hao said.

"...Don’t you already have Xixi and Jiu Jiu?"

"It’s not the sa," Hao Hao frowned.

"How is it not the sa? Does Hao Hao not like Xixi and Jiu Jiu?"

"I like them, but if I had a sister, I would like her even more," Hao Hao thought for a mont and then said to Jian Liangtong with utmost seriousness.

"..."

Jian Liangtong was at a loss for words. After a while, she awkwardly pinched Hao Hao’s tender white cheek and said, "You said Xixi and Hanhan secretly brought a sister to school?"

"...Yes." Hao Hao squinted his eyes, a little dissatisfied as he eyed Jian Liangtong, who was obviously changing the topic.

"Your Aunt Jin and the others didn’t know at all?" Jian Liangtong asked, puzzled.

"They didn’t know," Hao Hao replied.

"Weren’t your Aunt Jin and the others very worried?" Jian Liangtong was both surprised and concerned, thinking Hanhan and Xixi were too bold.

"That’s why Brother called Aunt Jin and the others shortly after to tell them that Jiu Jiu was with them. Not long after the call, Aunt Jin and the others ca to take Jiu Jiu back," Hao Hao said.

Jian Liangtong let out a breath.

After sitting for a while, Jian Liangtong suddenly thought of a question.

Looking at Hao Hao, her expression was bewildered, "But how did Xixi and Hanhan secretly bring Jiu Jiu out?"

As far as she knew.

Xixi and Hanhan had special drop-offs to school.

"Xixi put Jiu Jiu in a backpack and brought her,"

What?

Jian Liangtong’s mouth twitched hard, "Fit, fit in there?"

Cough cough cough.

Alright.

Jiu Jiu’s little body was just too good.

Hao Hao rolled his eyes, "A bigger backpack would do."

Uh...alright.

Jian Liangtong pressed her lips together, unable to hold back a laugh.

Xixi was really quite the troublemaker.

"When are you going to give a sister, mom?"

Jian Liangtong, "..." still rember that, huh?

...

This was the third ti that Huo Shaojun had dinner at Jian Liangtong’s ho, and He Xinyun and Jian Ningfeng expressed that it didn’t feel as awkward as the first two tis.

Obviously.

He Xinyun and Jian Ningfeng were also trying hard to accept Huo Shaojun again, leaving behind the unpleasantness of the past.

After dinner, Huo Shaojun and Hao Hao sat on the living room sofa playing gas.

Jian Ningfeng and He Xinyun squeezed together on a sofa watching family dramas.

Jian Liangtong sat cross-legged on a single sofa, a laptop on her legs, browsing news on the web.

A notification popped up on the bottom right corner of the screen from WeChat.

Jian Liangtong moved the cursor and clicked on it.

"Do you have ti tomorrow?"

Jian Liangtong paused, glanced at the profile picture, and realized it was soone who had recently added her as a friend, without a nickna.

"Who are you?"

She quickly typed these two words on the keyboard and sent them out.

About ten seconds passed.

"You didn’t even recognize your own flower jacket, sigh."

Your flower jacket?

Jian Liangtong blinked blankly.

Thinking of sothing.

Her eyes suddenly shifted to his avatar.

Previously, she didn’t think much of it.

Now, looking again, she realized the abstract figure in his avatar was clearly the pattern of the flower jacket her grandmother made for her as a child.

Jian Liangtong pursed her lips, her fair fingers touched the keyboard, hesitated a bit, then deftly typed a line, "I have to go to the company tomorrow. Sothing up?"

"Yeah, want to take you out for dinner."

Jian Liangtong stared at the few words he sent over, her fingers slightly curled into her palm, and after a while, she replied, "Let treat you. What ti tomorrow? Noon?"

"Yes."

Jian Liangtong waited for a long ti before receiving his reply with a single "Yes."

She looked at that word, lightly pinching her thumb with her other hand.

...

At half-past ten at night, Jian Liangtong ca out of the room after coaxing Hao Hao to sleep.

Jian Ningfeng and He Xinyun had already gone to their room to rest because they had to work the next day.

Seeing Huo Shaojun still sitting on the sofa, Jian Liangtong tucked her lips slightly and walked over, "It’s half-past ten. You should go ho."

She didn’t know if it was the evening’s influence, but Huo Shaojun felt that Jian Liangtong’s tone had beco gentler.

Huo Shaojun leaned back, lightly resting against the couch, with his eyes deeply fixed on Jian Liangtong.

"What... what’s wrong?"

Seeing him staring at her like that, Jian Liangtong twitched her lips and asked.

Huo Shaojun squinted his eyes slightly, "Nothing. Just thought you looked nice, so wanted to look at you so more."

"..."

Jian Liangtong’s cheeks felt warm, yet her eyes looked at Huo Shaojun with curiosity.

It was rare for him to say sothing pleasant, let alone sothing so sentintal and flirtatious!

Huo Shaojun uncrossed his long legs and stood up from the sofa, heading towards Jian Liangtong.

Seeing him approach, Jian Liangtong’s heart fluttered slightly.

Huo Shaojun stood in front of her, his impressive height towering over Jian Liangtong.

She felt as if all the light in front of her was shadowed by him.

Huo Shaojun looked down at her slightly concealed long eyelashes, his voice rich and llow, "Tongtong, I’m not afraid to wait. I believe I’ll wait until you’re willing to be with ."

Jian Liangtong’s eyelids gently trembled, slowly raising to look at Huo Shaojun.

Huo Shaojun, staring at Jian Liangtong’s complex and shifting pupils, suddenly smiled slightly.

Jian Liangtong’s vision wavered slightly, and she felt sothing brush her nose.

Her long eyelashes blinked rapidly a few tis, and Jian Liangtong instinctively touched her nose, looking at Huo Shaojun with puzzled almond eyes.

A kiss could be so simple and direct; only Huo Shaojun could manage it!

Jian Liangtong still stood there dumbfounded, not even realizing for how long Huo Shaojun had already left her house.

...

The next morning.

Jian Liangtong walked out of the community, spotting Huo Shaojun’s car parked at the entrance.

She paused for a few seconds before walking over to his side, opening the passenger door, and getting in.

"Have you had breakfast?" Huo Shaojun leaned in, buckling her seatbelt, then reached over to touch her head and ask.

Jian Liangtong lowered her eyes and nodded, "Yes."

Huo Shaojun gazed at her.

Jian Liangtong glanced at him, "Is there a problem?"

"You didn’t ask ." Huo Shaojun’s lips curled slightly, looking at Jian Liangtong’s eyes with so grievance.

Jian Liangtong’s mouth twitched, "Well, did you eat?"

"I’m not in the habit of having breakfast."

Jian Liangtong, "..."

Speechless!

Huo Shaojun chuckled, pinching Jian Liangtong’s lightly twitching cheek.

Then he sat up straight, shifted gears, and started the car forward.

"Huo Shaojun, have you not been working recently?" Jian Liangtong looked at him.

"Postponed."

Huo Shaojun replied simply.

Jian Liangtong frowned, "Why?"

Huo Shaojun turned his head, his deep eyes fixed on her, "Focused solely on pursuing the wife."

Jian Liangtong blushed deeply, gritting her teeth, "Pretend I didn’t ask!"

Huo Shaojun raised an eyebrow.

Jian Liangtong turned her gaze out the window, and after a while, she said, "I have a lunch appointnt."

Huo Shaojun’s eyes moved slightly, looking at Jian Liangtong through the rearview mirror, "With a friend?"

"..." Jian Liangtong furrowed her brow, "Sort of."

Huo Shaojun stared at Jian Liangtong for several seconds without saying anything more.

Since he didn’t speak, naturally, Jian Liangtong wouldn’t say anything either.

...

At eleven forty, Jian Liangtong finished up the signing and onboarding process for Xu Jiaren and Wang Er, and arranged their training from the company before leaving.

She didn’t see Huo Shaojun’s car in the parking area at the company entrance.

Thinking he had driven ho, she walked to the roadside, hailed a taxi, and got in.

And just as the taxi left the company premises, a black sports car slowly erged from behind a tree at the side of the company building.
