"These past few years, I’ve frequently traveled between Z City and France because Little Rui is in France, and I miss him, so I go to visit him every now and then," Tang Ruan sobbed.

"Since the child was born safely, why not bring him back?"

Tang Ruan shook her head, "How could I dare to bring Little Rui back? Mo Chen always thinks I was the one who caused his child’s death. If I brought Little Rui back under those circumstances, I’m afraid Mo Chen would harm both and Little Rui, so I’ve never dared to let you know of Little Rui’s existence."

Listening to Tang Ruan’s words,

Rong Sinan didn’t continue to ask more.

One must admit, Tang Ruan’s answer was flawless.

But... every sentence she uttered seed like a pre-prepared script, just waiting for him to ask.

Therefore, Rong Sinan was almost certain that no matter what he asked next, Tang Ruan would be able to answer smoothly and calmly.

If that’s the case, it might be better not to ask!

Tang Ruan looked composed, but her hands hanging by her sides slightly clenched, her gaze on Rong Sinan filled with cautious inquiry.

To see if he believed what she said!

At this mont, Rong Sinan’s expression was indifferent, his deep look making it impossible to tell whether he believed her or not.

...

Tang Yige didn’t know how she managed to walk out of the hospital.

The sound of static, like electric waves, endlessly buzzed in her ears, and her mind was a complete blank.

Amidst the high temperature of thirty-eight degrees, cold sweat covered Tang Yige’s body, while a chill surged from the soles of her feet, making her legs stiff and nearly unable to walk.

Beep—

Beep—

The blaring sound of car horns sounded chaotically.

Soone seed to be cursing at her, and Yige lifted her vacantly blank eyes to look over. Apart from a blurry face sticking out from a car window, she saw nothing.

She continued to walk forward.

The car horns continued to blare incessantly.

Screech—

A sudden brake.

Yige only felt a gust of wind hit her knees, her legs buckled, and she collapsed to the ground.

She pressed her hands against the ground, trying to stand up.

But after several attempts, she couldn’t manage to stand.

"Miss, are you okay?"

A panicked male voice ca from beside her.

Tang Yige blankly lifted her head to look at him, the face before her eyes still appeared hazy, she couldn’t see clearly.

"Miss, can you stand on your own?"

The man approached Tang Yige and helped her.

Tang Yige exerted herself, but she couldn’t get up.

So she looked at the man, "Could you please help up? I can’t stand."

Can’t stand?

The man was terrified, quickly checking Yige’s legs.

Could it be, could it be I broke her leg?!

"Why am I so unlucky!" The man muttered regretfully while helping her up.

Because it was a road with heavy traffic, many cars ca and went.

And Yige, who was crossing the street recklessly, almost caused a traffic chaos.

The man helped Yige up, glanced down at the ground, and paused seeing there was no blood.

"Thank you!"

Tang Yige said chanically to the man, then pulled her hand away from his grip and continued to walk forward.

The man looked at her legs; noticing she was walking slowly without seeming hurt, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Beep—

Beep—

Seeing Tang Yige striking forth into the traffic again, the man’s alarm escalated, breaking out in cold sweat.

Thinking he couldn’t just "stand by and do nothing," the man quickly rushed forward, grabbed one of Tang Yige’s arms, raised his other hand to signal the cars to slow down, and briskly led her across the street to the other side.

Once they reached the other side, the man glanced at Yige, intending to scold her. But seeing her in such a daze, with a pale face as if she’d suffered a trendous shock, he swallowed his words.

Before leaving, he kindly reminded Yige not to cross the street recklessly again, or she might not be so lucky next ti.

Tang Yige frowned, looking at the man with confusion, as if she had no idea what he was talking about.

Seeing this, the man felt like he was "playing music to a bull," despondently scratched his head, waved his hand, returned to his car still parked on the road, climbed in, and glanced back at Tang Yige before driving off.

When he saw Tang Yige standing dazedly by the side of the road, unsure of where to go next, he shook his head and sighed.

...

Tang Yige stood under the scorching sun, seemingly oblivious to the heat.

And she stood there for nearly half an hour.
