Since there’s a reason, why should she ask further?

Tang Yige perhaps hadn’t even realized herself, she was becoming more and more understanding about things and people, becoming more open-minded and enlightened.

...

Not long after Gu Yan and Nie Xiaoxing left, Tang Yige went to the temple cafeteria with Lei Yicheng to have a vegetarian al.

Tang Yige didn’t ask why Gu Yan left, but she could clearly feel the change in Lei Yicheng’s aura since Gu Yan and Nie Xiaoxing ca and left.

During the al, watching Lei Yicheng holding chopsticks without eating, Tang Yige furrowed her brows and softly said, "Yicheng, are you forcing to ask what happened between you and Gu Yan at the pavilion?"

Lei Yicheng’s resolute face twitched twice, slowly raised his overly deep set of eyes to look at Yige.

Tang Yige frowned tighter, glancing at his rice bowl which hadn’t been touched, said, "Eat your al."

"..." Lei Yicheng clenched the chopsticks in his hand and nodded.

Tang Yige’s eyes trembled slightly, pressed her lips together, didn’t say anything more, and lowered her head to continue eating.

Lei Yicheng watched Tang Yige’s long lashes hanging down for a mont, deeply inhaled, then buried his head and started to eat.

After finishing their al, the two of them walked to Yige’s room silently.

As they approached the room, seeing Lei Yicheng distracted, Tang Yige said, "Yicheng, are you really not planning to tell what happened?"

The drifting gaze of Lei Yicheng focused on Yige’s face, after a few seconds of silence, he said, "I’ll tell you once things beco clearer."

"..." Tang Yige was stunned, puzzled, looking at Lei Yicheng.

She hadn’t actually expected Lei Yicheng to really answer her just now.

But his response now clearly implied that it was related to her.

Tang Yige lightly inhaled, stared at Lei Yicheng, "Yicheng..."

"Shall we go for a walk along the path behind the temple since we just ate?"

Before Tang Yige could finish speaking, Lei Yicheng interrupted her.

Tang Yige’s lashes flickered lightly, then lowered, "No, my eyes are still not clear now, as it gets darker I can see less, so I won’t go."

"Then I’ll brew so tea for you." Lei Yicheng said.

"...I don’t feel like having tea now." Tang Yige said softly.

Lei Yicheng was slightly taken aback, looked at Yige, paused for a few seconds before saying, "Then get so rest early, I’ll take you tomorrow morning."

Tang Yige nodded, "Okay."

Lei Yicheng looked at Yige for a while, raised his hand and touched her head, "Goodnight."

Tang Yige lowered her head, without making a sound.

Lei Yicheng clenched his fist, turned and walked out of Yige’s room.

Listening to Lei Yicheng’s footsteps gradually drift away outside the door until they could no longer be heard, Tang Yige frowned tightly, raised her head, her eyes seemingly filled with an indelible mist of sorrow, staring blankly at the door.

...

The temple’s dinner ti was fixed at six o’clock in the afternoon.

This ant Tang Yige returned to her room by seven at the earliest.

At this ti, it might be too early to go to bed and rest.

Therefore, Yige walked to the courtyard, sat on the stone stool beside the round table in the courtyard, and spaced out.

There were street lamps hanging in the courtyard, the wattage wasn’t very high, casting the entire courtyard in a dim, yellowish glow.

In fact, since over two months ago when Yige removed the dical gauze from her eyes, the world she saw was always blurred, and it hurt to look, sotis it was serious enough to cause bleeding.

Gradually, the pain disappeared, bleeding beca rare, but what she saw remained blurred.

She didn’t know if she was avoiding seeing the world clearly, or if her eyes weren’t completely healed.

The first month when she ca to the temple, her emotions were very unstable, she often cried, without tears, but blood.

At that ti Lei Yicheng called a doctor, lived in the temple with them to conveniently care for her body and prevent accidents.

So, she didn’t know how many tis the gauze in front of her eyes was changed.

The first month, she always had dreams.

In her dreams, there was a child smiling at her, she couldn’t see his face clearly, but she could always hear his laughter.

Later, whether it was day or night, even when she was awake, she could hear it, moreover, it felt like he was sitting beside her.

Several tis, that feeling was particularly real.

She asked Lei Yicheng if there really was a child beside her?

But Lei Yicheng said no, there was nothing.

However, she clearly heard it, it was there, indeed!

Therefore, she tried talking to him, but he just laughed and didn’t reply to her words.

Strangely, she didn’t mind, and continued to speak with him.

Thus it persisted for almost a month.

One day she again heard the child laughing by her ear, so she spoke to him again.

But when Lei Yicheng heard her speaking with the child, he lost his temper.

He loudly told her that there was no child, the child... was gone!

His voice pierced her eardrums, she felt her head about to split, every bone in her body, every piece of flesh, every cell began to ache.

She didn’t know how that night she survived.

The whole night, she felt like soone was roasting her with fire, the cruelest possible torture in the world tornting her.

She was worse than dead!

At that ti she had only one thought, just wanting... to hear that child’s voice again.

But throughout the night, she never heard his laughter again, and she, pained enough to wish she could just perish.

Yet.

The most torturous thing in the world is.

Not dying, but having every hope shattered, all the ugly truths ruthlessly laid bare before you, you feel despair, pain, want to die, but sohow struggle back to life, and still, hopelessly, continue living, wishing for death but unable to die!

After that night, she never heard the child laugh by her ear again.

And she didn’t cry anymore.

During the following two months, everything seed to have improved.

Her body, her eyes.

So mories seemingly could settle in the past, not needing to be recalled.

That way, it was possible to pretend nothing had happened and continue on in life.

But what about the direction?

Tang Yige... where is your direction?

Yige bit her lips in bitterness, her red eyes moving amidst the blurred intricacies in the courtyard.

Suddenly, a tall dark figure erged from the direction of her room, walking along the stone steps towards her.

Tang Yige inhaled, quickly raised her hand to press her eye corner, curved her lips at the figure, "Yicheng, is that you?"

The figure abruptly paused, froze in place.

Seeing the figure stop, Tang Yige pursed her lips in confusion, "Yicheng?"

Yige called again, waited for a while, still heard no response, not even a breath.

Probably due to her eyes not functioning well now, Yige’s hearing was quite good.

Yige suspiciously closed her eyes, after a while opened them again to look.

The figure remained.

That ant she wasn’t seeing things, soone indeed was there.

But this courtyard was where only she lived, usually, besides Lei Yicheng, no one would co.

If it wasn’t Lei Yicheng, Tang Yige couldn’t imagine who else it could be.

Thinking this, Yige stood up from the stool, cautiously stared at the shadow, didn’t dare to approach.

Though it was a temple, just in case.

"Who are you?" Yige asked, her voice slightly tense.

After she asked, about four or five seconds passed.

A breath was heard, sowhat heavy.

Tang Yige’s body trembled slightly, instinctively stepped back, placed a hand on the round table, her eyes frantically swept around, though she couldn’t see, but this, was like a sort of instinctive panic.

Suddenly.

The figure moved towards her again.

Tang Yige gasped, quickly retreated behind the round table, her beautiful face taut, voice trembling, "Who the hell are you?"

That person didn’t answer, just accelerated his move towards her.

Like a black flash of lightning instantly reached in front of her.

Yige widened her eyes, inhaled sharply, lips parted, couldn’t even manage a scream before her waist was suddenly gripped tightly.

Soon after, her whole body was pulled into a chest emitting a faint tobacco scent and the unique breath of a familiar man.
