Now reading: Chapter 248: Introductions Complete from Today, I Have Yet to Become a Doll, a Romance novel by Hua Hua Liao.

Tan Xiao's self-introduction went as follows:

“My name is Tan Xiao, the ‘Tan’ from 谈笑风生, the ‘Xiao’ from 谈笑风生. Just call me Brother Xiao! I entered the pugilistic world at eight, swore brotherhood at ten! I've drifted through the jianghu for decades! Relying on my bare hands! Depending on brotherly loyalty! If you have any problems, just e find me! Brother Xiao will absolutely not shirk his responsibility!”

Note:谈笑风生 (tán xiào fēng shēng) means a light-hearted and enjoyable conversation.

After finishing, he put his hands on his hips, revealing a set of pearly white teeth.

Everyone: "…"

Tan Xiao looked left and right. Surprisingly, no one applauded.

He felt dejected.

Only Bai Youwei and Pan Xiaoxin were left to introduce themselves.

Pan Xiaoxin glanced at Bai Youwei.

Bai Youwei half-closed her eyes, looking languid, with no intention of speaking.

Pan Xiaoxin: "…"

He hesitated for a moment, then said, "My name is Pan Xiaoxin. I live with my grandparents in Hangzhou. I'm in fifth grade at the Central Primary School… After the incident in Hangzhou, I had nowhere to go, so I wanted to find a team to travel with. But… those adults, I don't know why, they were always arguing, always messing things up… Many people died…"

As he spoke, he noticed Bai Youwei squinting at him.

Pan Xiaoxin felt a little guilty, and his voice lowered:

"Later… later I met Sister Weiwei and Brother Mo. They were willing to take me into the maze. I felt… this team could survive, so I stayed with everyone."

"Little kid, you're not being honest~~" Bai Youwei's tone was slow and drawn out.

Pan Xiaoxin hung his head and honestly admitted, "I inflicted those injuries on myself. But I didn't want to harm you. I was just afraid… afraid you would suspect me, so…"

"A scheming little friend, truly not cute at all." Bai Youwei clicked her tongue, lazily saying, "But, you're not a pet, who are you trying to be cute for? As long as you can survive, that's enough."

Pan Xiaoxin was stunned and looked up at her.

"It's my turn, right…" Bai Youwei stretched, looking a little tired. "My name is Bai Youwei, a cripple."

That was it.

Everyone waited in silence for three seconds.

Then, realizing she really had no intention of saying more, they felt a bit plicated.

"Weiwei, that's too unfair," Tan Xiao plained. "You didn't even say your age!"

Bai Youwei glared at him. "Is a girl's age something you can just ask?!"

Tan Xiao: "Everyone else said theirs!"

"Hmph, I'm not saying it anyway." Bai Youwei proudly turned her head away, refusing to look at him. "Only two people in the world can know my age, one is the person who gave birth to me, and the other is the person who buries me."

"Why?" Tan Xiao was puzzled.

Bai Youwei said, "Because the person who buries me has to write on my tombstone, 'Bai Youwei's Tomb, born in such and such year and month, died in such and such year and month.' Don't you even understand this?"

Tan Xiao let out an "Oh." "…Seems to make sense."

The others were speechless.

Yan Qingwen asked one more question: "You seem to be very skilled at these clearance games. Have you had any training in this area before?"

"I wouldn't say skilled. Playing a few more times naturally makes you more proficient than others." She rested her chin on her hand, speaking casually. "It's like… hmm, playing a lot of Connect Four, your hand-eye coordination improves. Same principle."

She asked Yan Qingwen, "How many games have you played?"

"Three." Yan Qingwen smiled. "We cleared the first game and got an item called a self-healing bandage. The second game was too difficult and cost us five puzzle pieces. The third… was the Lucky Quiz. If you count this one, then it's four."

Bai Youwei nodded seriously: "That is a bit few. It's best to enter the games a few more times. Practice makes perfect, lest you suffer losses later."

Li Li couldn't help but say: "The games are getting more and more abnormal, and you want to enter a few more times? What if we die before we get proficient?"

Bai Youwei chuckled: "Then we'll just erect a tombstone for you, 'Li Li's Tomb, died in such and such year and month~'"

Li Li: "…"

He shouldn't have asked.
