Single desks ant no seatmates.

Byakuya and the Yasuhisa twins were just neighbors.

"Nice to et you."

He offered a token greeting.

Kurona acknowledged him with a slight nod before looking away, expression cold.

Nashiro didn't even make eye contact. She'd glanced at him when he spoke, then imdiately retreated—clearly introverted and shy around strangers.

Their hair colors matched their nas: Kurona's hair and dress were black; Nashiro's were snow-white.

As identical twins, their features were virtually indistinguishable—delicate and cute. The contrasting colors made it easier to tell them apart.

Even their figures and heights were nearly identical: slender builds, 160cm—practically ideal by Japanese standards.

Byakuya didn't mind their attitudes. His impression of the twins had always been that they were the reserved type.

"Today's topic is quinques. You'll be testing them soon, so let's cover the basics first. Turn to page 128..."

The instructor began class.

"Quinques were invented several decades ago by forr CCG Chairman Yoshitoki Washuu and German CCG Director Adam Gehner. Their developnt dramatically closed the power gap between humans and ghouls."

"Kagune are the primary material for quinques. They're harvested from ghouls—but the extraction thod has strict requirents. The kagune must be fully released, then removed along with the intact kakuhou. Only then does it et manufacturing standards."

"Since quinques are 'dead' rather than living kagune, they lack growth potential, flexibility, and extension. However, they offer superior control and stability. As technology advances, quinque modifications continue improving."

...

The theory class lasted forty-five minutes. Reasonable duration.

Most of the content Byakuya already knew, but he listened patiently and respectfully.

As the instructor ntioned, after a short break ca practical training.

The combat instructor was a proper investigator assigned by the CCG—typically Rank 1.

Byakuya noted their instructor wasn't Tokage—just so unfamiliar investigator.

Tokage was the interrogator who'd tortured Yamori "Jason" so brutally that he'd snapped ntally, inheriting Tokage's sadistic personality and cruel techniques.

That included the finger-cracking habit and the infamous line: "All the unfairness in this world stems from the inadequacy of the one being unfair." Yamori passed those on to Kaneki later...

Tokage was practically the root of all that evil.

"You haven't used quinques yet. For your first experience, we'll start with specialized firearms similar in concept."

The combat instructor had prepared enough weapons for everyone.

Various types: handguns, rifles, submachine guns, and more.

"Pick whatever interests you. These are standard firearms, but the bullets are specially manufactured from kagune. Ordinary bullets barely affect ghouls."

The instructor demonstrated while explaining.

"These are mass-produced anti-ghoul bullets called 'Q Bullets.' Four types exist, corresponding to the four kagune types."

He extracted so bullets from a magazine to show them.

Elite investigators used proper quinques, but quinque authorization was strictly controlled. Investigator Assistants and Rank 3 Investigators couldn't use them.

They were limited to these specialized firearms.

Byakuya grabbed a handgun resembling the famous Desert Eagle. If only the System gave him infinite ammo—a classic post-apocalyptic novel cheat: Desert Eagle plus unlimited bullets.

"Get familiar with them first, then start target practice."

The instructor continued: "I don't expect accuracy right away. Just learn proper grip and stance."

He went around correcting each student's form.

Then they fired at distant targets.

Stationary targets, not moving ones—no need to start at maximum difficulty.

Byakuya had never fired a gun before. The instructor helped adjust his grip.

But aiming and shooting? That was his forte. Even without activating his Sharingan, his vision and perception far exceeded normal humans.

He lined up the fixed target, roughly calculated wind and gravity—though those factors barely affected handguns—

And fired.

BANG.

He checked the result: roughly ninth ring, almost tenth.

Not perfect, but excellent for a first attempt.

The instructor had just finished correcting Byakuya's stance and watched his shot.

Seeing ninth ring, his eyes widened.

"Impressive talent. Hitting that on your first try is remarkable."

He imdiately praised Byakuya.

This student had struggled with basic grip monts ago—clearly inexperienced with firearms. Achieving this demonstrated genuine gift.
