「10 a.m.」
The head of the nursing departnt found Qin Mu and subtly inford him about sothing.
「In the courtyard.」
Qin Mu put down his phone. He stood up from the lounge chair, ending his period of slacking off, and went straight to the deputy director’s office.
"Xiao Qin, co, have a seat. How’s work recently, busy?" Wan Zhongyuan greeted him with a warm smile as soon as they t, enthusiastically making him a cup of tea.
Qin Mu’s expression turned a little odd. Busy? As if.
His job paid less than two thousand a month, which was among the lowest in the nursing ho. There was no way for him to be truly busy. Usually, he just looked after the elderly, kept them company in various ways, provided psychological counseling, and the like. Ever since Zhang Qingyuan and the others beca engrossed in attending court hearings... he’d had even more free ti.
"AHEM. The reason I wanted to see you was primarily to ask about how to divide property," Wan Zhongyuan coughed dryly, revealing his purpose.
Qin Mu was taken aback for a mont.
"To be honest, after watching the court hearing yesterday and seeing the plight of Elder Feng Cuihua, I feel... I need to take precautions against that unfilial son of mine," Wan Zhongyuan heaved a long sigh, explaining his reasoning.
He had watched the entire court hearing yesterday. After getting ho, the more he dwelled on it, the more frightened he beca. He was terrified his own son would treat him the sa way in his old age.
Consider this: Feng Cuihua had four sons, yet she still ended up like that. And he... he only had one son! For that woman’s sake, his son hadn’t visited him in months, nor had he even called.
Therefore, to ensure a peaceful old age, he felt the need to take precautions.
"Actually, the money I’ve saved is enough for my retirent. I’m not worried about him failing to support ; I’m more concerned that..." Wan Zhongyuan sighed, then said with a wry smile, "I’m worried he’ll continue to sponge off , squandering all my retirent savings."
"If I stop supporting him... could he turn around and sue for abandonnt?"
His son. He knew him all too well. He lacked any real skills. After graduating from college, he hadn’t bothered to find work and had been living off the allowance he provided.
"I’ve t your son too. He’s able-bodied, capable of working, and an adult, so you don’t have to worry about that," Qin Mu’s mouth twitched as he explained. "He doesn’t et the criteria for the three categories of abandoned individuals, unless he deliberately injures himself to the point of disability."
Only under those circumstances... would Wan Zhongyuan be obligated to continue supporting him.
"As for property division, find a reliable civil lawyer and have it notarized."
Then, Qin Mu thought for a mont and added, "If you don’t want to leave your property to your son, you can draft a will in advance to remove him as an heir."
As for the Wan family’s situation... he knew a little about it. The exorbitant bride price incident back then was entirely the doing of that sycophantic son of his. Qin Mu had even helped him get the bride price money back. Unexpectedly... after all this ti, the Wan family’s situation had only deteriorated.
"I understand."
「Half an hour later.」
Wan Zhongyuan’s expression was bright, a look of dawning realization on his face. He hadn’t fully understood the legal statutes regarding the cri of abandonnt, rely perceiving it as any act of desertion among family mbers. After Qin Mu’s explanation... he instantly felt a great deal more relieved.
「The nursing ho. Afternoon.」
Qin Mu lay in the courtyard, continuing to enjoy his leisurely, slacking-off lifestyle.
What felt strange was that Old Zhang, who usually loved a ga of chess, hadn’t sought him out for a match all day. He hadn’t even seen a sign of him.
"Mr. Li, where’s Old Zhang?" In the end, unable to restrain himself any longer, he asked Li Weiguo.
Li Weiguo said casually, "Oh, him? He went out early this morning. He ntioned that not enough people were attending the wedding, so he went to hand out more invitations."
Qin Mu frowned, puzzled. Nearly a whole day had passed. What kind of invitations took so long to deliver? Besides, Old Zhang didn’t know that many people. Logically, he should have finished delivering them long ago.
"I think he ntioned... the courthouse?" Li Weiguo scratched his head and said uncertainly.
"What?!" Qin Mu’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Sending invitations... to the courthouse? Old Zhang was really aiming high!
