The sales assistant saw the two of them and ca over with a smile, "Miss Shaw, are you here to pick up the brush you custom-ordered from our store so ti ago? Please wait a mont, I’ll get our manager."
The sales assistant walked inside to fetch the manager.
The manager saw Aurelia, his face forming a standard yet respectful smile, "Miss Shaw, please wait a mont while I retrieve it for you."
She took out a key and opened the safe inside, retrieving an exquisite long box.
With both hands, she presented it to Aurelia.
"Miss Shaw, this is the purple hair brush you specially ordered from our store."
Aurelia took it, opened it, and saw a hard-bristle brush inside the box. She picked it up and stroked the shiny, black brush tip twice with her slender fingers, her red lips curving upward.
Amanda Fuller caught a whiff of fragrance, "This brush slls really nice, Aurelia, who are you going to give this brush to?"
Aurelia’s lips curved with difficulty, "To an elder whom I respect." She placed the brush back into the box and was about to close it when a familiar female voice rose sharply.
"This brush is so unique!"
A hand ca over uninvited, trying to grab it.
Aurelia flicked her hand, dodging her action, her eyes lifting to cast a sharp glance at the newcor.
Ha! Vianne Collins.
"I was wondering who it was; turns out it’s Aurelia." The woman’s voice was soft, but her gaze showed mockery and sarcasm as she clung to a man’s arm, half leaning against him, the scent of her perfu nearly suffocating.
"Do you two know each other?" The man raised his eyes to size up Aurelia, his gaze landing on her charming face, his eyes squinting slightly, a flash of greed in their depths.
Vianne spoke in a cutesy tone, "This is my classmate. Back in high school, she did sothing disgraceful with a teacher and was expelled afterward. We haven’t been in touch for a long ti."
She turned back, her tone filled with concern towards Aurelia, "Aurelia, we haven’t been in touch for so many years, where did you go? Don’t mind that matter from back then, it’s been so many years; aren’t we all just living our own lives now?"
"Oh right, did you know Mr. Wu got married? Although that incident greatly impacted him, fortunately, it didn’t affect his relationship with his fiancée. We attended the wedding, it was grandly held."
Vianne smiled smugly, her eyes showing a proud cold glint.
Then she suddenly felt she had misspoken, covering her mouth, "Did I talk too much? Mr. Wu didn’t send you an invitation, did he? Don’t bla him; back then your affair was uproarious, appearing at his wedding wouldn’t look good."
"Mr. Wu got married?" Aurelia showed a surprised expression, murmuring, "That’s really a pity; I had prepared a special gift for his wedding, looks like it won’t be delivered this ti."
For so reason, her tone was very calm, but Vianne felt a chill crawl up her back as she listened, her expression stiff and unnatural.
It was ant to embarrass her, yet she remains unaffected!
While she was lost in thought, Aurelia raised her eyes to glance at the man beside her, who felt his heart tremble under the gaze of her almond-shaped eyes, his eyes glued to her.
"Hello, I’m Tang Yili," the man introduced himself proactively.
Vianne’s jaw dropped; she hadn’t expected Tang Yili to take an interest in Aurelia, glancing at Aurelia’s beautiful face, alarms sounded in her heart.
She wanted to pull Tang Yili and leave quickly, but he stood steadily in place, his gaze unwaveringly on Aurelia, the light in his eyes unmistakably one of determination.
