"Grandpa." Before the other side could speak, Aurelia was the first to say, her tone calm, though it wasn't hard to hear the joy and respect hidden within that calmness. "Calling all of a sudden—what's up? Did you miss ?"
Kai Nightshade laughed heartily with delight. "You little rascal, the whole internet's blowing up about you and you still have ti to joke around with this old man."
Even Grandpa has heard about this?
Aurelia's eyes dimd a little.
Kai Nightshade's aged voice continued, "So how are things going between you and Mason these days? Since he chose to make it public, it shows that kid actually cares about you. When he wanted a secret marriage back then, I was annoyed. If you hadn't protected him, I would've taken my whip to him already."
The old man's whip wasn't an ordinary one—it was custom made, barbed, and one lash could strip a layer of flesh off.
Back then, Aurelia hadn't been reborn yet—of course she didn't want Mason getting hurt in the slightest.
"It's not what you think. I was at a classmate reunion and accidentally got caught in a photo by one of them. There were too many people at the ti, I couldn't control it, and it got leaked online. Now… I'm afraid even if I deny it, no one will believe ." She spoke in a gentle tone.
So sooner or later, she'd divorce Mason—she didn't want Grandpa to have any expectations for their relationship. He'd already worried so much about them.
Kai Nightshade snorted in disbelief. "Don't bother trying to fool this old man. I know exactly what Mason's capable of—if he really didn't want it out, not a peep would get past the Q City dia. Aurelia, this just proves that kid has you in his heart."
"Ah, finally, you've made it through! Luckily that kid still has so conscience—he didn't let down a good girl like you. I might finally get my grandchild!"
The housekeeper, Li, looked at the old master clutching his phone, grinning from ear to ear, and felt happy for him.
"I heard Mason even beat up one of your old teachers?"
Aurelia didn't hide anything from him—if Grandpa wanted to look into things, he could easily find out what happened at the ti, and everything about Hadriel Wilson as well.
"Mason finally did sothing to please . You two co ho for a al in a couple of days."
"Grandpa, I have filming these days, I'm afraid…"
"Don't try to feed those busy excuses—I'm not that easy to fool. The day after tomorrow! You and Mason both co back to see !" Kai Nightshade cut off all her ways out.
Aurelia patiently explained, "The crew's been on hold the past couple days, so we're behind schedule. The day after tomorrow we have to catch up, I really won't have ti to go back. How about in a few days? I promise, once I finish this batch of work, I'll co see you! Oh, right, I've picked out a gift for you."
Kai let out a prideful "hmph," but hearing there was a gift, his mood improved a little.
He reminded her again, "What about that Eliza in your crew—how are you going to handle it? A scandal like this blows up and drags the whole team down. Don't let her drag you down with her. With soone like that, better kick her out of the crew as soon as possible."
Aurelia glanced at Amanda Fuller. "Don't worry, I'll handle the Eliza situation. Okay, you go get so rest. I'll co see you in a few days, pinky promise!"
After she hung up, Amanda Fuller brought up Eliza on her own, "Eliza's XO video with an investor got leaked, it's going viral online. Now the Stardust Crew is in a total ss over this. I reckon… Eliza's role in Stardust is going to get axed."
