Ignoring Nathan Johnson’s slightly stiff expression, Aurelia signaled to the makeup assistant, who imdiately understood and ca over to help her remove her makeup.
After taking off her eye makeup, Aurelia didn’t see Nathan Johnson again.
She changed into her own clothes as Caleb’s urging call ca in again. He was only reassured to hang up after confirming multiple tis that she would definitely co.
Walking out of the set, Aurelia glanced at several parked cars by the roadside. Their windows were so darkened that you couldn’t see inside. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a silhouette erging from the set—
She leaned in and whispered a few words to Amanda Fuller.
Surprise flashed in Amanda Fuller’s eyes as she glanced around and nodded.
The two stayed in the shadows for a while. Two minutes later, "Aurelia" strode out. As she reached the middle of the road, reporters suddenly sward out from the cars.
Caras focused on her, and flashes continuously flickered. The reporters’ questions fired one after another like artillery shells:
"Miss Aurelia Shaw, it’s said that you married Nightshade Corporation’s President Mason Nightshade, is this true?"
"Your fans online claim that you’re hiding your marriage to avoid hype, but why didn’t President Mason step up to clarify when rumors about you being kept as a mistress were spreading wildly? Is it because President Mason doesn’t actually like you? And is it true that you pursued him and forced him to marry you?"
"Please address this question directly!"
These reporters were clearly paid off. Their questions were not only sharp but also suggestive.
No matter how Aurelia answered, there was a risk they’d take her words out of context to concoct the answers they wanted.
"Sorry, Aurelia is not accepting any interviews now." A deep voice rose with displeasure as the man encircled Aurelia’s waist and cast a warning glare at the reporters.
Rather than being intimidated, the reporters seed to latch onto a major scoop, snapping photos furiously and asking even sharper and more aggressive questions.
"President Johnson, why are you here? Can you explain your relationship with Aurelia Shaw?"
"President Johnson, are you aware of Aurelia Shaw’s marriage to President Nightshade? Isn’t it risky for you two to be alone together at night, fearing it might make President Nightshade jealous?"
"I am friends with Mason Nightshade and am just protecting my friend’s wife. Would that anger you?" Nathan Johnson answered the reporters politely.
But in reality, he hadn’t provided a substantial answer.
"President Johnson, where are you heading next? Will you personally escort Aurelia Shaw ho?"
"We’re going to have dinner, and later I’ll take Aurelia ho. There’s no need to worry. Alright, we’re leaving now, please..." Nathan Johnson smiled at the reporters.
His voice suddenly vanished because he saw the woman in his arms take off her sunglasses.
"Phew!" Amanda Fuller took a deep breath, ruffling her hair as she looked down at the reporters with a light smile turning to Nathan Johnson, "President Johnson, my dear Aurelia hasn’t agreed to dine with you. Saying such things in front of reporters might cause misunderstandings."
Turning around, facing the reporters, her smile was gracious.
"Looks like everyone mistook for soone else."
This statent was akin to finishing a delicious pot of soup only for the waiter to co over and inform you that there was a rat dropping in it. The feeling was utterly disgusting, so vexing.
"Why didn’t you say you had the wrong person earlier? Damn, wasting my ti." Still peering, seeing even the last light inside had been switched off.
Amanda Fuller kindly reminded, "Aurelia already left."
"Damn it!" A reporter couldn’t help but swear, "After waiting here all day, turns out it was a false alarm, why not say so earlier!"
