It started to rain in Q City.
The cold wind cut into people's bones, chill to the marrow, as muffled thunder rumbled through the heavy clouds. The sll of blood and rain hung thick in the air, oppressive and terrifying.
Mason Nightshade stood at the scene of the car accident.
Before him was a car wrecked beyond recognition, the driver's seat severely damaged, blood stains marking the airbag. Blood pooled on the ground everywhere, rainwater washing it into crimson streams, the stench of blood perating the air and making one's stomach churn in disgust.
"Mason, all the brothers we sent to protect Aurelia have been wiped out. All we found was this."
Grayson Quinn handed over the item with a grave expression.
Mason took it.
It was the knife he'd given her.
Which ant, right now, she didn't even have a single thing left to defend herself!
"This is Aurelia's phone." Grayson handed over the phone as well, knowing just how serious this situation was.
She might have left so clue in her phone. Mason unlocked it, needing a password. He paused for a mont, then swiftly tapped on the screen, a string of garbled text flashing by, and the phone quickly opened.
What appeared on the screen was her chat history with Amanda Fuller.
"Why do you think in those rebirth novels, even after the heroine is reborn, she can still so easily forgive the male lead?"
Mason's eyes narrowed sharply!
"Uh… maybe because she loves him too much? From what I've read, there's always so misunderstanding between them, and though the heroine cos back, it doesn't an the old feelings are gone. The greater the hatred, the greater the love, right? Most importantly, the male lead is so fiercely loyal and warm!"
"Is that so? But if it were , I'd never love again."
"Oh co on, Aurelia, you're saying that kind of thing again…"

Mason's mind went blank, buzzing! His trembling fingers frantically scrolled upwards.
Amanda said 'again', which ant they'd discussed this more than once!
But why would they bring this up?
Why…
Had she sensed sothing, or…
A suspicion threatened to burst from his mind.
Mason's fingers shook as he scrolled, the sa hands that just confidently and quickly cracked the password now trembling uncontrollably.
What filled his vision were her previous chat logs. Each line was a blade, stabbing deep into his heart.
What he used to try and ignore could no longer be avoided. Bloody wounds torn open, the raw truth exposed before him, forcing him to face reality!
Grayson had never seen Mason like this!
No—he had, once. When Aurelia had been giving him the cold shoulder, he'd seen a similar expression of grief on Mason's face. But this ti, his despair was even worse.
He glanced at the phone, not seeing anything strange. Why was Mason…
"Grayson!" Mason's voice was cold as storm-laden rain.
Grayson tensed imdiately.
"We must find Aurelia! Now!"
"Mason, soone found out that today Aiden Campbell had a conflict with Aurelia at the hotel…"
Mason turned abruptly and strode away!

Aiden Campbell, who'd been drinking at a bar with the girls, was suddenly and confusedly kidnapped to Overpass Riverside. The surging river flowed, fine rain falling from the sky.
Aiden's hands were tied, his body carelessly dumped on the ground. He struggled a bit, but couldn't break free.
Damn it! Who the hell had the guts to tie him up?
"Who the fuck raised you, don't you know who I am? You wanna die, tying up…"
His words were cut off—a hamr-like fist smashed into his face. Soone grabbed his collar, hauling him up off the ground, his feet dangling. In his dizzying vision appeared a pair of terrifying, bloodshot eyes.
