But Sophie Nye didn't notice.
She strode over, picked up her phone, and swiped to answer, "Hello, who is it?"
Aurelia Shaw's expression turned cold.
Sophie Nye shivered, the hair on her back standing up, and she swallowed in fright. But then she rembered they were at the old residence; no matter how bold Aurelia was, she wouldn't dare do anything to her.
She puffed out her chest and glared at Aurelia arrogantly.
"S-Sister?" A timid voice ca through the phone.
The malice in Sophie Nye's eyes faded. She rembered the Shaw Family's second daughter, obedient and well-behaved—just the way she liked.
She intentionally softened her voice in front of Aurelia.
"Oh, it's Jovana, isn't it? What's the matter with calling Aurelia?"
"A-Auntie?" Jovana Shaw was both surprised and delighted, not expecting Sophie Nye to be next to Aurelia. However... "Oh, no, nothing special. It's just that we're going out tonight, weren't we hurt? I called to ask if Sister needs to take care of her."
"When we're at ho, I'm the one taking care of Sister. I'm afraid she'll be uncomfortable with soone else."
Sophie Nye snorted coldly, intentionally speaking loud enough for Aurelia to hear, "Wow! The eldest daughter of the Shaw Family is really spoiled. Even the maids of the Nightshade Family can't serve her."
Aurelia picked up a book beside her and pretended not to hear.
Jovana Shaw secretly rejoiced. Foolish Aurelia, irritating your mother-in-law—how will you live comfortably at ho now? I hope she'll get even more upset with you, so I can take your place.
"Auntie, I'm sorry. Did I upset you?" Her soft voice barely concealing a sob.
"It's not your fault; it's that other person, hmpf. She can't even do housework at ho, just lazes around on the sofa all day. Oh, why couldn't you have been my daughter-in-law instead?"
Jovana Shaw was overjoyed, "Actually, I admire Mr. Nightshade a lot. If Sister hadn't married him first, he would be my ideal husband."
Sophie Nye's face showed displeasure.
Although she liked how obedient she was, as her daughter-in-law? No daughter from the Shaw Family was worthy.
Her most satisfactory daughter-in-law was Isabel Bennett, especially as Isabel was becoming more successful in the entertainnt industry—a star daughter-in-law would bring her pride.
Still smiling, she said, "Alas, past matters are beyond our control."

The two exchanged words and glances, yet Aurelia was completely unaffected.
Sophie Nye glanced at her every few minutes, puzzled by her calm deanor: Why was there no reaction? She must be pretending to be unfazed.
Mason Nightshade entered and saw Sophie Nye standing in the living room while Aurelia sat quietly on the sofa, calmly reading a book. The outside commotion seed not to reach her. Her seaweed-like long hair draped over her shoulders, covering her small fra.
Mason's eyes deepened. He stepped forward, hearing Sophie saying sothing oddly on the phone.
He bypassed Sophie and went straight to Aurelia.
"What happened?" he leaned down and asked.
Aurelia looked up lazily, glancing at Sophie still on the phone, "Your mom is discussing with my sister about kicking out and marrying my sister into the family."
Mason's eyes darkened. This mother of his was truly becoming more and more out of line!
However... it seed like she hadn't suffered any losses, yet his mother had been angered trendously.
"Are you tired? Do you want to go upstairs to rest for a bit? You're still not fully recovered and shouldn't sit for too long."
