This rapid healing situation started to subtly appear when I broke my leg.
Could it really be that my body's chanism has mutated?
If she can't figure sothing out, Aurelia never bothers. She just got out of bed when her phone buzzed; it was a call from Caleb.
"Director Fan, do you need to help promote 'Dawnsong'?" She thought it was about that since Caleb had called her several tis over this in recent days.
"No," Caleb said. "There's a charity gala tomorrow, and the organizers gave a few invitations. I wanted to give you one."
A charity gala?
"Many big-na celebrities and directors will attend, along with various fashion industry moguls."
At this, Aurelia understood.
"What ti tomorrow?"
"It starts at 8:30 PM, entrance begins at 7:30 PM. Do you want to drive you?"
"No need, I'll drive myself."
"Alright then, rember to wear an evening dress." With this instruction, Caleb ended the call, seemingly aloof, but actually chuckling to himself while holding the phone.
He was selling such a big favor to Aurelia, thinking he'd ask her to repay it by taking on a role in the future, hehehe... Only, he didn't count on Aurelia always taking advantage of a good deal when she finds one. Another good deal? Only if she's in the mood.
An evening dress?
After hanging up on Caleb, Aurelia contemplated this as she headed downstairs, when suddenly her wrist was grabbed, making her wince in pain and hiss. She slapped away the hand and looked coldly and sharply at the person!
Sophie Nye was startled, her face pulling into a stiff smile, "Aurelia, you rarely stay ho these days, and it's been a long ti since Mom had a proper chat with you. How about going out shopping with Mom?"
What's Sophie Nye up to this ti?
Aurelia furrowed her brows, scrutinizing her suspiciously from head to toe. She was about to refuse but suddenly rembered she needed to buy a dress. "Okay, when do we leave?"
"How about now?" Sophie let out a sigh of relief from her tense nerves. Since when did Aurelia exert such a strong sense of oppression like her son?
"Now?" Aurelia raised an eyebrow and looked at the window as the day was getting late.
"We can have dinner outside. Your dad's gone to a friend's gathering, Mason is busy with work, and you wouldn't want him running back and forth between the company and ho just to keep you company, right? It'll just be the two of us tonight. We can go shopping after dinner," Sophie said with a smile.
Aurelia beca even more convinced that there was so conspiracy behind this.
Well, her body had pretty much recovered. Yesterday, she was kidnapped and traumatized, harboring pent-up frustrations that needed an outlet. Let's play along then.
Aurelia went upstairs to change clothes, putting on sunglasses and a hat.
This disguise may not effectively prevent people from recognizing her, but for a celebrity, attire is more about fashion statents than actually avoiding recognition.
Aurelia and Sophie arrived at a restaurant.
Soon enough, Aurelia realized the purpose behind Sophie's invitation—Jovana Shaw, looking nervous and shy, nodded at her and timidly greeted, "Sister."
Aurelia turned her gaze to Sophie Nye.
The latter's face changed swiftly, a smirk of disdain and contempt appearing on her lips. "I asked little Ruo to co and join us for shopping. Last ti she went shopping with , I found her taste was superb. You don't mind, right?"
Does she even have the right to mind? Aurelia shook her head; she had already expected Sophie Nye to be up to no good.
Without the anticipated reaction from Aurelia, Sophie furrowed her brows and gave Jovana Shaw a look.
Jovana understood the signal, pursed her lips, and timidly glanced at Aurelia twice, "Sister, are you... angry? If you are, I can leave imdiately."
