Suddenly!
A shadow flashed before her eyes, and Aurelia Shaw couldn’t make out who it was. She raised her cane and struck down, only hearing a "thump," as the man fell to the ground. She didn’t give him a chance to react and swung the cane a few more tis.
"Ouch, ouch," cries of agony sounded.
The man curled his back, his arms protecting his head, and pitiful cries continuously erged from under his arms.
Aurelia found the voice strangely familiar.
"Stop... stop hitting, I... I’m Hadrian Turner."
Hadrian Turner?
Aurelia paused, furrowing her brows, looking over at the man squatting on the ground with his head in his arms.
She kicked him lightly and called out, "Hey, lift your head up."
The man tried to move a little, slowly lifting a face bruised and swollen, glasses hanging loosely on his ear, one lens shattered, looking quite a ss.
He squinted, seemingly trying to see the person in front of him clearly, but due to the broken glasses, he could only make out a blurred shape, still stunningly beautiful under the moonlight.
"Uh..."
The girl awkwardly brushed the tip of her nose.
She rembered now, Hadrian Turner from the editing team.
Usually a quiet person, not saying much on set, with few friends, she almost forgot there was such a person.
Realizing she had hit the wrong person, Aurelia, like a child who made a mistake, stuck her tongue out apologetically, looking at the other party, she asked, "Um... are you okay?"
Hadrian tried to move, seemingly wanting to stand up. Aurelia quickly approached with her cane, but Hadrian, thinking she was going to hit him again, crouched back down in fright.
Aurelia’s face turned slightly red with embarrassnt, as she set the cane aside, reaching out to help him.
"Sorry about that. I didn’t know it was you. But you could have made so noise. At night, if soone suddenly appears, any girl would be scared."
Any ordinary girl would be scared, but having faced death once, Aurelia harbored a mindset intent on harm towards anyone approaching. Fortunately, Hadrian spoke quickly, otherwise... Glancing at the small knife hidden in her leg cast, Aurelia was grateful she didn’t act rashly.
Hadrian pushed up his glasses timidly, lifting his head, looking at the hand extended towards him, slender fingers, palm lines clear against pale skin. He paused for a mont, slowly reaching out and placing his hand on that soft, fair palm.
The girl’s fingers tightened, fingertips touching her soft palm, her hand trembled slightly, and in the dark, the man’s face quietly flushed.
"Why are you out here in the middle of the night? You suddenly popped out, I thought you were a thief." Aurelia said with a laugh.
"I... I..." Hadrian’s face reddened, stamring for a long ti without saying a complete sentence. Brushing the dust from his body, he regretfully looked at his glasses, seemingly beyond use, yet he still wore them, stealing glances at the girl’s bright face, unsure what to say.
Should he say he was actually sitting right next to her?
Should he say he followed her after seeing her co out?
Or that he was waiting for her at the restroom door... she might think he was a pervert.
Aurelia sighed.
She didn’t expect to hear anything from him,
they weren’t close anyway.
"How are your injuries? Do you want to go to the hospital for a check-up?"
"No, no." Hadrian quickly waved his hands.
"Really no need?" Aurelia frowned at him, jokingly saying, "If anything happens in post-production, I’m not responsible."
Hadrian hung his head low, saying nothing again, just shook his head vigorously.
Ah~ talking to soone like this is really tiring.
Aurelia sighed inwardly
"Alright then, I’ll head back first."
Picking up her cane, Aurelia turned to leave. Hadrian, panicked, shouted anxiously, "Wait, wait! I..."
