The receptionist was lost in thought when she glanced at Aurelia Shaw taking out her phone to make a call. She thought to herself: Could she be calling soone here?
"Hello, I'm telling you, we have security here, if you're planning to cause trouble..."
"I'm at your company." The receptionist's words were cut off when she heard Aurelia Shaw talking to soone on the phone. Your company? Could it really be…
The receptionist stared at Aurelia in surprise, looking her up and down, but unfortunately, the other person was wearing a mask, making it impossible to discern who she was.
Aurelia heard the heavy breathing from the person on the phone after she said that, followed by a deep, familiar voice, "You said you're where?"
"Your receptionist won't let go up, can you please tell her?" Aurelia handed the phone to the receptionist.
The receptionist anxiously took it, and then indeed heard the voice of the CEO coming through the phone, "Keep an eye on her, and if she leaves, you can forget about working here."
The receptionist hung up the phone with a look of utter desolation, trembling as she handed the phone back to Aurelia. What had she said just now? Does she really know the CEO? The things she said earlier, she wouldn't tell the CEO, would she?

Aurelia casually took back her phone and put it in her pocket.
The receptionist's worries were unnecessary; not allowing strangers to simply enter the building was part of her duties. Besides, Aurelia wouldn't waste energy gossiping about a receptionist behind her back.
"Can I go in now?" Aurelia moved forward, only to be stopped by the receptionist once again. The receptionist gave her an apologetic smile and whispered, "Sorry, the CEO didn't say you could go up."
Aurelia frowned deeply.
The receptionist's heart skipped a beat, feeling tearful and helpless. The CEO indeed didn't say that; he only told to keep an eye on you and not let you leave. Being a receptionist is really hard, Mom, I want to go ho.
As they stood in a stalemate, the elevator door opened, and a tall figure hurriedly walked out, stopping in front of Aurelia. Aurelia looked up and saw Mason Nightshade's distinctively cold face, his deep black eyes fixed on her.
"Co with ." Without waiting for her to speak, Mason had already turned and walked into the elevator, standing inside waiting for her.
Aurelia sighed and stepped in.
Once she was in, Mason pressed the elevator door.
In the confined space with only the two of them, neither Aurelia nor Mason spoke, until the elevator door opened with a "ding". Mason strode out, but Aurelia hesitated and didn't move, a subtle unease stirring in her mind, feeling like a lamb entering a tiger's den.
Noticing that she hadn't followed, Mason stopped and looked back at her, his pitch-black eyes filled with a commanding presence that left no room for refusal.
Aurelia squinted her eyes, sizing him up.
He was dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, his tall figure exuding an air of elegance and aloofness, his handso face with sharp lines imposing when he wasn't smiling.
So this is what he looks like at work.
Aurelia looked away and followed him.
Only then did Mason turn back and continue walking, his heart thumping wildly because of her scrutinizing gaze, his ears red, his brows furrowed, his eyes deep and intense.
The corners of Aurelia's lips curled up under her mask, her eyes shaped like a fox's slyly arched, pretending not to notice his slightly unruly steps.
