Seeing Mason Nightshade’s arm stretch out of the hole, Aurelia Shaw imdiately grabbed his arm and pulled him up with all her strength.
Mason stumbled unsteadily, taking two steps before collapsing onto her.
The rescue team could tell at a glance they were a couple; the two of them were covered in dust and dirt, but they didn’t recognize who they were.
"What are you all standing around for? Go let the doctor check you over first, call your agent and have her co over, hurry up." Mason straightened his body, took a step back, left her embrace, his steps unsteady.
"Okay." Aurelia replied; right now, the most urgent thing was to contact soone she knew and let them know she was safe.
But after only a couple of steps, Aurelia suddenly sensed sothing was wrong.
Mason said... let Amanda Fuller co pick her up?
That wasn’t Mason’s personality.
She suddenly had a bad feeling, and just then she heard soone behind her shouting anxiously: "Hey, what’s wrong with you... Soone co quick, where are the dics? Soone’s fainted, hurry up and get over here..."
Aurelia spun around, and saw Mason collapsing; she dashed over and caught his falling body, ending up being pressed to the ground by his weight.
"Mason... Mason!" Aurelia called his na over and over, watching his face go pale in an instant, his body cold, his heartbeat so faint she could barely feel it.
How could she have thought he was burning up these past few days, thought his heartbeat was racing, thought his body was fine?
He wasn’t fine at all, it was clear he was badly hurt! He’d shouldered it all himself!
Aurelia helped the rescue team lift Mason onto the stretcher. There weren’t enough dical staff, so she took the initiative to help, lifting a corner of the stretcher and hurrying toward the rescue station.
A rescue worker gave her a puzzled look; it was the first ti he’d seen soone trapped underground for days co out without a scratch. But... he glanced at the man on the stretcher and understood.
It wasn’t that she was unhurt—soone had protected her, shouldering all the damage himself.
Grayson Quinn arrived, just in ti to see Aurelia carrying a stretcher. She was so slender, and the man on the stretcher was twice her size—he didn’t know where she found the strength.
When he saw clearly whose face was lying on the stretcher Aurelia carried, Grayson instantly understood why. He rushed over and took the stretcher from her hands.
Aurelia was stunned, then looked up and saw Grayson.
Grayson glanced her up and down, "He wore himself out protecting you like this. If he wakes up and knows I let you do such heavy work, he’ll kill . Enough, enough, go rest, do it for my sake, at least."
He really didn’t get what was so good about won, wearing themselves out like this—he swore he’d never fall in love with any woman in this lifeti.
Grayson set Mason down at the rescue station and dialed a number, "Send two helicopters over, and also send a dical team to Q Mountain to aid with the earthquake rescue."
The helicopters arrived quickly.
Grayson carried Mason up to the helicopter, then looked at the woman standing below, his tone cold: "Are you coming or not? Mason risked his life to save you, you could at least co check on his injuries. That’s not too much to ask, is it?"
"I’ll go with you." Aurelia leapt onto the helicopter.
Even if Grayson hadn’t asked, she would have gone anyway.
"Let’s go!" Grayson shut the helicopter door.
As the helicopter was about to land on the rooftop of Q City Hospital, the waiting dical staff imdiately surged forward, taking Mason straight to the operating room.
