"No, that’s impossible," Aurelia definitely said.
If Mason Nightshade liked her back then, why did he suddenly disappear after she stole a kiss from him?
She searched for him in many places but couldn’t find him.
Aurelia looked at Mason, hoping he would give her an answer.
Mason, knowing the knot in her heart, calmly recounted the events of back then: "I went to M Nation for a mission. The sudden departure was because I received an urgent task and had to leave imdiately."
"I thought about saying goodbye to you, but the mission was urgent and didn’t allow any ti for delay. By the ti I wanted to return to M Nation to find you, my brother got into trouble."
The brother he ntioned was Victoria Blake’s biological brother, his cousin.
Aurelia tried hard to recall the mories from when they t, but too much ti had passed, and she had gone through so much; no matter how she tried, she couldn’t piece together every little detail from back then.
The only vivid mory was when she bravely stole a kiss from him and then ran away in a panic. The next day, when she wanted to approach him, he had suddenly disappeared.
No matter how she searched, she couldn’t find him, and his friends wouldn’t say a thing.
This was her regret.
"So, if you hadn’t left at that ti, what would have happened?" Aurelia asked.
Mason gazed at her, his eyes sincere, "I would have let you say goodbye to ."
Aurelia raised an eyebrow, "Let confess to you?"
Mason chuckled softly, "Aurelia, back then I was in control, and you were passive, just like at the ball when I deliberately gave you a chance to kiss . Later, I would have found the right mont to give you the chance to confess to , and then..."
He leaned forward slightly, whispering in her ear, "Make you feel like you had won over."
But in reality, he had won her over.
Aurelia gradually understood, "Mason, where is your face?"
Even chasing after a woman makes the lead have to turn around and chase you; where is his face? His integrity? Where have they gone?
Mason looked at her, "So now I’m getting my couppance. Whatever I owed you before, let repay you now."
"Aurelia..." Mason called her na, climbed into bed, and pulled her into his arms, "Are you satisfied with my answer?"
Slling the faint lemon scent and the fragrance of body wash from Mason’s body, Aurelia felt sleepy again, yawned, and drowsily said, "So-so."
Mason gently rubbed her head, his fingers sliding down, brushing over her back, as if smoothing a cat’s fur, stroking again and again, his deep voice resonated in his throat: "Go to sleep."
"Mm."
Aurelia responded vaguely and soon fell asleep.
Mason held her, but let out a long sigh; his heart was full, yet what accompanied it was the fear of losing her.
He really had lost too many tis.

In the morning, during breakfast with Mason, the housekeeper hurriedly ran in from the courtyard.
"Young master, there are a lot of reporters outside for so reason."
"Reporters?" Mason frowned. Since when did reporters dare block his door?
"They’re not blocking the door but hiding on both sides, behind the trees, and in the parking spaces at the entrance," the housekeeper noticed Mason’s confusion and explained proactively.
They were just not hiding very well. She noticed as soon as she stepped out the door; usually, there wouldn’t be so many cars at the entrance.
