The on-site reporters saw what happened to the male reporter—who would still dare to give Aurelia a hard ti? They snapped a few airport photos and hurriedly tried to leave.
Just then, a commotion rose from inside the airport.
The reporters looked over, gasped, and cast odd glances at Aurelia.
Eleanor Spencer was coming out.
Now there was going to be a real show.
But this was a show they had no interest in watching!
The reporters plotted how to slip away before the fireworks began, to avoid getting caught in the crossfire, but Eleanor's greeting rang out, "Hello, dear reporters! You're always right on ti waiting for here. You've worked so hard—I completely understand, it's just your job."
For the first ti, the reporters wanted to rip apart her seemingly gentle, serene face.
Who said they were here waiting for her! They just wanted to catch her at her worst, post it online, and get so clicks. So fake.
Eleanor struck a pose, lips curling in what she considered her most attractive, gentle smile, waiting for the reporters to crowd in for an interview. But her smile was about to freeze—it never happened.
What was going on? And why were their eyes on her so hostile?
Was her makeup off today or sothing?
Eleanor's eyes flicked around, spotting Aurelia; an idea popped into her mind. She walked over, lifting her warm smile. "Aurelia."
"Ugh—" Amanda Fuller rudely mid retching.
Eleanor's expression froze for a second, but she had to maintain her persona. Even now, she kept that smile—kind, considerate, and unflappable.
"What's that about?" Nancy Carter frowned.
Amanda patted her chest and laughed, "Lunch sat a bit wrong—I'm feeling a little queasy."
Keeping up the gentle, caring act must be exhausting. Even when people take shots at you, you have to grin and bear it. Thank God Aurelia isn't stuck with that kind of public image.
Nancy's face didn't look great, but she couldn't scold her either.
No way could Eleanor tell Amanda was picking a fight. Even Aurelia's agent was insufferable.
She smiled at Aurelia, saying, "Aurelia, I said hi to you at the Q City airport earlier. Why didn't you acknowledge ?"
As she said this, the corner of her eye darted to the reporters, noticing they were staying put—sothing suspicious: What's up with these reporters? Normally they catch the faintest whiff of drama and stick to soone like a leech—why so quiet today?
Maybe Q City didn't relay the news?
That can't be right.
Eleanor was uneasy.
Aurelia had actually explained this to the reporters earlier, but Eleanor didn't know and was trying to use this old trick on her. Since the reporters wouldn't make up stories anymore, was she supposed to be scared?
Aurelia's stunning face broke into a light laugh: "Didn't hear you."
Just four words, but they made Eleanor choke; there's no way she didn't hear. She clearly ignored her on purpose, didn't she?
Eleanor glanced at the surrounding reporters and found them unnaturally quiet.
What the hell was going on today? Weren't these reporters always hungry for gossip? With such a big scoop right in front of them, why weren't they digging?
What Eleanor didn't know was they'd already tried, gotten severely humiliated, and had no intention of tempting fate again.
Besides, just one look at the three n behind Aurelia said they weren't ordinary people. The reporters didn't want any trouble—they valued their lives.
Nancy started sensing sothing was off with the atmosphere, narrowing her eyes to study Aurelia. This woman looked young, but she was no lightweight. Who knew what trick she had up her sleeve now?
