"Y-Your woman?" Nancy Carter looked up in shock, gazing incredulously at Mason Nightshade, then at Aurelia Shaw behind him.

With Mason's temper, how could he possibly want a woman who agreed to divorce? Sothing must have gone wrong. She must have misheard.
But Mason's next words imdiately shattered her illusion, "You touched my woman, you'd better imagine the consequences for yourself!"
"Mr. Nightshade, it wasn't like that. I didn't an to hurt Aurelia Shaw, it was all an accident. She bullied Isabel Bennett, and I just went over to reason with her, but accidentally knocked over the soup," Nancy quickly changed her story upon realizing Aurelia was Mason's woman.
She wriggled up from the ground like a maggot, her arms twisted and sagging in a strange shape.
"Accidentally?" Mason's lips curled coldly. He had seen it clearly when he ca in; she had tid it perfectly as the server brought in the dish, and without missing a beat, her hands had just knocked over that plate of boiled pork slices.
If he hadn't shown up, that plate of boiled pork slices would have been spilled on Aurelia's face by now!
Such a big plate of boiling soup could easily disfigure soone if splashed on the face.
"Was it accidental, or did you intend to ruin her face?" Mason coldly interrogated.
Nancy shivered, "No, it was really just an accident."
"Dylan Harper, have the kitchen prepare a dish of boiled pork slices in ten minutes," Mason ordered Dylan, who turned and went to the kitchen.
In less than ten minutes, a dish of boiled pork slices was brought in, placed on the table, the hot soup steaming.
Mason's lips curled in a half-smile, "Try doing 'accidentally' again for ."
Aurelia Shaw looked at Mason.
Mason squeezed her fingers and whispered in her ear, "Watch closely, see how to deal with these blind people, next ti don't hold back."
"Are you teaching bad things?" Aurelia asked him.
This man, on one hand, taught her not to have too extre thoughts, yet on the other hand, spoiled her without limits.
His bottom line was simple: those who deliberately ssed with her, he would deal with thoroughly.
Mason Nightshade had the duties of a soldier, but also soone to protect. If anyone touched the person he had to protect, then he would be a "rogue".
A soldier or a demon? Aurelia was the dividing line.
Mason affectionately squeezed her fingertips, "There's no need to hold back against those who bully you, but don't harm the innocent. That's your bottom line."
"What about yours?" Aurelia asked him in a voice only they could hear. She was genuinely curious; with Mason, this boundary seed always blurred.
In her previous mories, Mason was a particularly upright soldier, with the duty of guarding the country and protecting the people. He might occasionally show so roguishness, but he was absolutely a great soldier.
