After spending an afternoon shopping with Victoria, we walked out of the mall and realized it was raining.
"I’ll drive you ho," Victoria offered, starting up her car.
She was the one who had driven Aurelia to the mall.
Aurelia glanced at the darkening sky and politely declined Victoria’s offer with a smile, "No need, I feel like walking for a bit."
"In this weather?" Victoria looked at the increasingly heavy rain, then glanced at her with concern.
Aurelia chuckled lightly, "I think I’ll take a taxi."
"Oh," Victoria replied awkwardly.
She thought maybe Aurelia wasn’t thinking straight after spending this ti following her, and if that were the case, Mason would definitely have words with her once they got back.
"It’s getting late. Why don’t you call Mason to pick you up?" Victoria suggested, feeling a bit uneasy.
Aurelia checked the ti, "No need, he should be busy right now. He said he would go to the base this afternoon, probably urgent matters to handle."
Understanding Victoria’s concern, she hailed a taxi, turned back to smile at Victoria and said, "Drive safe, I’m heading off."
Victoria was montarily lost in thought by her smile, watching the taxi drive away. She inwardly sighed: Pretty people truly can be forgiven for anything!
Mason is lucky to have found such a beautiful wife.
My future nephew or niece will surely be exceptionally cute and beautiful.
"Miss, where to?"
Aurelia gave the address of the Nightshade Residence and then stared at the scenery outside the window.
The driver was quite talkative, noticing Aurelia with a hat and a scarf covering her face. Concerned she might be hot, he turned up the air conditioning a bit, "It’s not cold in here, you can take your hat and scarf off."
Aurelia gave a small nod in gratitude but didn’t do anything.
Sotis passengers have unique quirks, so the driver didn’t mind, "Where you’re going is a wealthy area, really... Haha, to be honest, I’ve long wanted to visit there. Thanks to you, I get to see it too, and can brag to my fellow drivers about taking a wealthy passenger."
Aurelia’s lips curled up.
Though she didn’t respond, the driver’s enthusiasm didn’t wane, "This rain today is quite heavy, and oddly enough, it’s raining in winter — a strange occurrence, almost as surprising as snow in midsumr."
Aurelia suddenly froze.
"Crack!" Suddenly, a loud peal of thunder struck.
The sky was split in half, the red streaks of lightning spreading to the horizon.
The rumbling thunder reverberated, causing the windows to shake.
The driver was startled and murmured, "My goodness, that thunder is really loud..."
Winter rain, bloody thunder...
The raindrops pattered on the glass, and sporadic flashes of mories rushed through Aurelia’s mind. Her face instantly paled, and she sharply directed the driver:
"To the Royal Bar!"
"Huh?" The driver didn’t respond imdiately.
"Hurry! To the Royal Bar!"
"Alright, okay."
Seeing Aurelia’s worried expression, the confused driver changed direction, heading to the Royal Bar.
Kindly, he reminded, "Miss, I’ve heard that place isn’t very safe. It’s not secure for a girl to go there alone. Are you eting soone? If not, you should call a friend to go together."
The driver noticed her lowering her head to make a call, thinking she’d listened to his advice.
Amanda, please don’t let anything happen.
Aurelia called Amanda Fuller several tis, but no one answered.
Her heart grew increasingly uneasy.
