Mason returned to the room to find Aurelia still awake.
She was sitting on the bed with a laptop on her knees, browsing the latest entertainnt news. Hearing the sound, she looked over at him, "Did Sophie leave?"
Mason pulled her into his arms and kissed her forehead, "I'm sorry you had to deal with that."
Knowing Mason felt guilty, Aurelia lifted her head, a bold smile at the corners of her eyes, "Do you think I'm the type to feel wronged?"
"No." More than feeling wronged? She was naturally audacious, and with his indulgence, wouldn't the situation be more about her making others feel wronged?
"Why did she co to see you?" Aurelia asked.
She knew Sophia Nye well; there wouldn't be any way she'd co over without a purpose. She didn't think Sophie would take a long trip just for curiosity.
"She asked to let Eleanor Spencer go." Mason didn't hide anything from her, as he gently threaded his fingers through her soft hair.
Aurelia smiled.
She had guessed as much.
She just hadn't expected that, at this point, Sophie still couldn't bear to let go of Eleanor Spencer as her daughter-in-law?
Sophie would rather have an obedient daughter-in-law than care about the woman's integrity?
Aurelia suddenly felt great animosity toward Sophie because if that were true, it ant she didn't care about Mason at all.
