Kids are the easiest to fool.
Aurelia Shaw ca back with band-aids, and the boy was still sitting in the sa spot. Sensing her approach, he imdiately curled into a ball in fear.
This reminded her of how atball was when he first ca to her house, curling up at any slight noise, thinking that this would protect him.
Aurelia squatted down, held the boy's ankle, and felt the trembling of his calf in her palm; she keenly sensed his fear.
"Let put the band-aid on you, alright?" Aurelia asked him.
The boy made no response.
Aurelia took it as consent, cleaned his wound with water, dried it with a clean towel, and put on the band-aid.
"Luckily the wound isn't big. Look, it's all better now. Doesn't it hurt anymore?" Aurelia asked with a smile, her smile dazzling under the sunlight.
The boy blinked and stared for a couple more seconds, then blinked again, looking at the strange new thing on his knee.
He reached out with his small hand to touch it.
It seed... it really didn't hurt as much anymore.
The boy's skin was fair and clean, a bit chubby too, and Aurelia couldn't help but pinch his cheek.
Such nice skin.
And in the end, she couldn't resist pinching a few more tis.
"What are you doing?" a low, cold voice suddenly resonated.
Aurelia was so startled that she nearly stumbled and fell.
Ah, the white dress she wore today, it's been through a lot.
Aurelia patted her dress and stood up, looking toward the source of the voice—a man was standing there in the sunlight, wearing a black shirt, exuding a cold aura, with his narrow and deep-set eyes slightly narrowed, staring at her with a cold gaze that flashed icily beneath the surface.
Aurelia narrowed her eyes slightly as well.
She was the kind of person who reciprocates kindness, but once soone showed malice, she would beco defensive like a porcupine.
She sensed danger from this man.
"Who are you? Why are you in this backyard?" the man frowned and questioned her coldly.
Aurelia thought to herself, Old Master Campbell invited her over, not necessarily letting everyone in the Campbell Family know, so she replied, "Old Master Campbell invited ."
"Aurelia Shaw? That actress?"
Aurelia raised an eyebrow, what's with that tone? Looking down on actresses?
Mark Campbell's gaze fell on the band-aid on the boy's knee, then returned to scrutinize Aurelia, "Did you put the band-aid on his knee?"
"Yes, I did." Aurelia hesitated for a mont before responding.
Could it be that this child is so precious that outsiders can't randomly apply band-aids? So wealthy families do have these kinds of rules.
"I just saw that he was injured. If the wound isn't treated in ti, it might get infected. You can have soone check these things," she didn't bla him for being cautious.
"Mason Campbell, co here!" Mark Campbell said in a deep voice.
Mason Campbell? Is that his na?
The boy stood up from the ground, seed to sense Aurelia watching him, looked up to et her gaze for a mont, then hurriedly lowered his head and slowly walked towards Mark Campbell.
Halfway through, he suddenly opened his arms and hugged Aurelia's leg.
Aurelia, wearing a white dress, found herself unable to move from his embrace, and looked at the boy in surprise.
She could tell there was sothing unusual about him.
He didn't say a word, nor did he utter a sound, not even when he fell and hurt himself, he didn't cry, staying quiet as if he couldn't speak, and his eyes seed empty, as if there was nothing inside.
This boy was probably not a normal child.
