Aurelia frowned innocently, "Accusation? That's a serious charge. We weren't whispering during our chat. Can the mayor's daughter really not distinguish between slander and truth?"
"No... it's not like that..." Alia Sherwood was montarily at a loss to explain. That wretched Aurelia, when she wasn't careful, had sohow managed to turn the accusation onto her.
She took a deep breath, regaining her composure. "Azura, I didn't an it that way. Think about it; your status is so high, how can you squeeze onto a sofa with others?"
"Aurelia, stop fooling around, and make room for Anna." She then turned to speak to Aurelia.
Aurelia's lips curled into a mocking smile as she looked at Alia Sherwood, her eyes slightly bent in an apparent smile, but it made Alia inexplicably guilty, causing a chill down her spine, reminding her of how her father was sched against.
She was sure this whole thing was Aurelia's doing.
But the person who set up her father even knew the most confidential matters of the company; otherwise, the company wouldn't have suffered such heavy losses.
But where did Aurelia learn about these things?
People always fear the unknown.
"Alia Sherwood, you can flatter but don't try to flatter too," Aurelia said casually, before eating a piece of fruit.
If Alia hadn't said this gathering was organized by Anna Reed's dad, she couldn't care less about these two's expressions.
She could sche behind Anna's back all she wanted, but this ti she ca with Mason Nightshade and couldn't involve Mason Nightshade in trouble.
"You..." Alia Sherwood was angry. "Anna, why don't you sit for a while? I'll get you so fruit to eat."
Anna Reed snorted coldly and sat down on the other side.
Alia quickly brought a plate of fruit and two glasses of red wine. To get inside, she had to pass by Aurelia, and she struggled sideways to move inside, inch by inch.
Aurelia played with her phone, seemingly not seeing her. Her toes barely lifted—Alia Sherwood stumbled and fell towards Anna Reed, with the plate of fruit and wine spilling all over her.
"Ah!" Anna Reed scread, leaping up from the sofa and wiping herself with a tissue. She was wearing a white strapless dress, and the wine flowed down her cleavage, turning everything red with a tantalizing glimpse inside, unable to be concealed.
"Alia Sherwood, are you insane! Why did you spill wine on !"
Alia got up from the ground, her wrist and palm scraped by glass shards. Hearing Anna's angry voice, she hastily explained, "It wasn't ; I don't know how I ended up falling."
"It was her!" She pointed at Aurelia. "It's definitely you, isn't it?"
Aurelia looked at them innocently, "You're the one who knocked over the plate; what does it have to do with ? Just admit your mistake openly to Miss Anna, and Miss Anna might forgive you. Don't push your mistake onto to avoid responsibility."
"Sigh, I didn't expect that after so long, you're still so..." Aurelia didn't finish her sentence.
But Anna Reed sharply caught the key point, "You knew her before?"
She was speaking to Alia Sherwood.
Alia stamred, reluctantly admitting, "Mrs. Slate wanted to introduce to Mason Nightshade, but Aurelia seems... very particular about interacting with Mason Nightshade, so there have been so misunderstandings."
"You and Mason Nightshade are already divorced. Who Mason Nightshade associates with has nothing to do with you! A wild child with no mother from a young age will always lack manners," Anna Reed mocked.
