"Take care of it."
Mason Nightshade dropped these words and pulled Aurelia Shaw's hand to walk outside.
As they sat in the car, Aurelia's knee trembled slightly. This detail didn't escape Mason Nightshade's eyes. He took out a wet wipe, held her chin, and wiped the blood off her face.
He pulled out two more and tossed them to her, "Clean your hands."
Aurelia thought he was angry and didn't pay much attention, only to see Mason suddenly bend down and roll up her pant leg... "Hey..." Not there.
But it was too late to stop him.
Her fair and delicate knee was all red, and as her pants rolled up, there were also bruises on her thigh.
Mason's face suddenly turned gloomy, glaring at Aurelia, "I don't care how you ss around, nor do I want to restrict your freedom, but the consequence of my not caring is that you end up getting yourself hurt?"
"It was just an accident..." Aurelia explained, touching her nose.
This... was indeed an accident.
She hadn't expected the people Jovana Shaw found to be so skilled, almost like they had professional training. Although she had received special training from Mason Nightshade, dealing with those people was still a close call, almost costing her life.
Although she seed unscathed on the surface, professionals, especially soone like Mason, could tell her injuries from her subtle movents.
It wasn't surprising she couldn't hide it from him.
"This kind of accident won't happen again!" Mason said coldly.
Aurelia detected an implied aning, "Mason..."
"I gave you freedom!" Mason cut her off, his eyes darkening, leaving no room for negotiation. "I haven't interfered with how you ss around, but what's the result of not interfering? You end up harming yourself?
You won't have such freedom anymore!"
"It really was just an accident this ti..."
Aurelia's words suddenly stopped because she saw a hint of hurt and pain in Mason's eyes, leaving her stunned. This might be just a flaw in a ticulous plan for her, but for Mason, it could an losing her.
"Quinn." Grayson Quinn knocked on the window.
"In a mont." Mason said somberly. After Aurelia had applied her dicine, he got out of the car and reminded her, "Stay in the car and don't get out. Rest if you're tired."
Aurelia watched him and Grayson walk away, then lay back and let out a deep breath. No matter how well-trained soone is, facing death is terrifying, especially for soone who has... died once and knows what it feels like.
...
"I found tattoos on them, they belong to the group." Grayson said quietly.
"Take them back for a thorough interrogation." Although these small fries might not know anything significant, they knew too little about the Mafia Organization.
"Okay." Grayson paused for a mont, hesitated, then couldn't help but say, "Aurelia..."
Mason squinted his eyes, "That group targeted her and even knew about the grudge between Jovana Shaw and her. Look into how Jovana Shaw got in contact with them."
"Mason, that's not what I was going to say." Grayson's expression was a bit unusual.
Mason looked at him.
"Today, the way Aurelia acted... do you think it's how a normal person would behave?" Grayson felt that Mason had spoiled her, as Aurelia's behavior was bold even on usual days.
"This ti it was the Mafia, but what if... it's not them next ti?"
