Once they were in the car, Caspian Parker glanced a few tis at Aurelia Shaw, who still hadn’t taken off her sunglasses. "Not many people know you here in M Nation. You don’t need to wear sunglasses here."
"Mm." Aurelia answered, but still didn’t take them off.
Seeing this, Caspian didn’t say anything more.
When they got ho, Caspian took the suitcase down, opened the door, and walked in. "I didn’t hire any housekeeper, but you don’t have to worry about cleaning and all that.
This is your room. The style and decor are all done according to what you like."
Aurelia felt a weight on the top of her head. She looked up and saw Caspian’s hand resting there, and she looked at him, puzzled.
Caspian looked down at her from above, and from that angle he could see her eyes under the sunglasses—red and swollen. He froze for a mont, thought of sothing, his thin lips pressing into a tight line. "Stay here with for a while. Don’t think about anything, don’t worry about anything. I’ll protect you, okay?"
"Mm." Aurelia nodded, leaned over, and wrapped her arms around him, drawing in a deep breath. "I know. Haven’t you always been the one protecting ? It wasn’t easy for you to co back. I’ll cling to you like a bad penny; don’t even think about shaking off again."
Caspian let out a helpless little laugh, ruffled her hair, sighed softly, and promised solemnly, "I won’t."
...
Aurelia carried her luggage into the room and went into the bathroom to wash her face. But when she saw her own swollen, red eyes in the mirror, she froze for a second. She raised her hand and touched the tear tracks that still hadn’t been completely wiped clean.
She stared at herself for a mont, then scooped up so water and washed her face clean.
...
There was a knock at the door, and Caspian’s voice sounded from outside:
"Aurelia, can I co in?"
"Co in." Aurelia put away the ring in her hand. She’d actually forgotten to give it back to Mason Nightshade.
Their relationship, sohow, stayed entangled no matter what.
Caspian pushed the door open, ca in, and glanced at her. "I haven’t bought any of your personal items yet. I don’t know which kind you’re used to. Let’s go to the supermarket later and buy them together."
"Okay, wait for to change my clothes." Aurelia said.
Caspian nodded, his gaze brushing over her swollen eyes. Her hair was slightly damp; clearly, she’d just washed her face.
Caspian opened his mouth, wanting to say sothing, but in the end he said nothing, closed the door, and left.
...
Aurelia changed her clothes and went downstairs. Caspian had already driven the car out. Once she got in, he headed straight for the nearby supermarket.
Before getting out of the car, Aurelia looked at Caspian, who was only wearing a cap, his handso face fully exposed. She asked in puzzlent, "This is M Nation..." The place where he was famous. "Aren’t you afraid your fans will recognize you?"
She still rembered those people at the airport who’d gone crazy trying to hit on him.
Caspian flicked her forehead. "You think everyone has such refined taste that they go to my concerts? The photos of online are mostly side profiles. People don’t really see clearly."
"Then those people at the airport..." Aurelia voiced her confusion.
Caspian said helplessly, "They were just trying to hit on , pure and simple."
All right then...
She’d forgotten that a good-looking guy is the most attractive thing anywhere.
Her forehead got flicked again, and Aurelia glared at Caspian. "Why are you hitting ?"
Caspian said, "You little girls are all face-obsessed. Once you see a handso guy, you can’t take another step."
Rubbing her forehead while picking out a toothbrush, Aurelia said lightly, "I’m not so little girl."
She really couldn’t be called a little girl anymore.
She’d been divorced once... No, to be accurate, it should count as twice.
As she was lost in thought, a man’s voice with a pure M Nation accent suddenly sounded. "Beautiful lady, may I have your contact information?"
