Jiang Zheyu had no idea her video had blown up in just one minute.
She was anxiously wondering, ’What ti exactly is Su Yan coming back?’
Su Yan was clearly busy right now, or he wouldn’t have told her that.
’If I force him to co back now, I feel like I’ll be bothering him...’
Coincidentally, today was the end of the month. Su Yan’s salary had already been deposited, and the Empire had automatically transferred sixty percent of it—one million—to her account. She could go buy a Beast Slave tomorrow.
Still, she decided to ask Su Yan for a specific ti.
Yu Yu: Mr. Su, what ti will you be ho tonight, exactly?
A mont later, Su Yan replied. His response was so fast that Jiang Zheyu always suspected he had her set as a special contact.
Only with special contact status would his Light Brain notify him of a ssage imdiately, no matter the ti.
Su Yan: Female Master, what ti would you like to be back?
Jiang Zheyu blinked, looking at the ssage on her Light Brain. She typed back tentatively: Mr. Su, could you be ho by 11:40?
In his futuristic office, Su Yan stared at the ssage for a mont. His gaze fixated on the word "ho," and he could almost picture the young woman’s disappointed face if he didn’t return.
A mont later, he walked out of his office.
Outside, the Beastn were in the middle of a heated discussion about sothing.
Su Yan only caught a few words: "Xingdou," "female," "so beautiful."
As he stepped out of his office, a sharp-eyed Beastman spotted him and quickly shut down the conversation.
However, a few others failed to notice Su Yan had erged.
Ji Wu was one of them. He was practically drooling, his eyes glued to his Light Brain. "I’ve decided! From now on, I’m submitting all my annual matching applications to this female! I can’t see any other female but her. Even if I have to wait in line for a few hundred years, I’ll do it!"
"Wait for what?" a cold voice sounded beside him.
"Wait for the female to see my matching application!" Ji Wu answered without thinking.
Then it suddenly dawned on him. He whipped around to see Yan Team’s icy red eyes. He reacted by stumbling back a few steps and stamred, "Yan... Yan Team, I-I’ll get back to work right now."
"Hold on." Su Yan frowned.
Ji Wu had no choice but to stand there anxiously.
"Send the Star Cloud Data files to my Light Brain," Su Yan said coldly. "Continue to report to on the Deserted Star tracking situation. If any problems arise, you can also contact directly on the Star Brain."
Ji Wu paused, then nodded in understanding. "Yes, Yan Team."
Su Yan turned to leave the office. Just as the Beastn were about to breathe a sigh of relief, his cold voice drifted back, "Less Xingdou while you’re on duty."
This wasn’t just directed at Ji Wu; it seed to be a warning for all the other Beastn in the office as well.
But since Ji Wu was caught red-handed, he could only reply miserably, "Yes, Yan Team."
After Su Yan left, it slowly dawned on Ji Wu. ’Is Yan Team going ho to handle work? Otherwise, why would he tell to contact him on his Light Brain if anything cos up?!’
He didn’t know what Yan Team was up to, but either way, he didn’t dare delay any longer and hurried to get back to work.
anwhile, Jiang Zheyu also received a ssage from Su Yan.
Su Yan: Okay.
Seeing this ssage, Jiang Zheyu let out a small sigh of relief. If Su Yan said he would be back at 11:40, then he would be back at 11:40. He wouldn’t go back on his word.
But disaster often strikes when you least expect it.
On his way back in the Hovercar, Su Yan’s Light Brain detected a signal from the Zerg Race.
He was the closest, so he made a quick decision and headed for the location.
The sky was dark. In a bustling comrcial district at night, the street suddenly cracked open. A huge, white, writhing worm erged from the ground, emitting a bizarre sonic wave.
The white worm’s body was covered in countless white tentacles, each one lined with twitching eyeballs. These eyes now sward out from the worm’s body, extending toward the surrounding crowd.
Several people were touched by the white tentacles and were instantly pierced through the heart. They let out agonized screams as blood splattered across the street.
People scread and fled. A young boy, who had only co out to buy cotton candy for his sister, never expected to encounter the Zerg Race. Seeing a Beastman killed without even a chance to fight back, he was terrified and ran even faster.
Everyone was running for their lives. The young boy clutched the cotton candy and ran desperately, but soone rushing past accidentally knocked him over. He fell to the ground, and the cotton candy rolled away.
The white monster’s tendril shot toward him.
The little boy watched in horror as the eye on the tentacle chanically swiveled to stare at him. His scalp tingled, and a chill ran down his spine.
Just as the tentacle was about to reach him—
A sharp flash of red light slashed down.
The white tentacle was instantly severed, and the eyes on it closed.
The white worm let out another bizarre shriek.
BOOM! The ground shook with a massive impact.
A colossal, shimring red Battle Armor landed before the boy like a god descending from the heavens.
In the distance, the white worm tried to burrow back underground.
A silver blade materialized in the hand of the incredibly agile red Battle Armor. Silver tal wings unfurled from its back as it leaped forward, and a sharp red light instantly sliced into the burrowing white worm.
The white tentacles lunged, and the bizarre sound grew more ntally unsettling.
But the beautiful, shimring red cha instantly sliced through the white worm’s body, and the Laser Cannon on its fra fired, accurately hitting the massive eye in the center of the worm.
As the massive central eye bled and closed, the eyes on the tentacles all shut as well.
The red Battle Armor had swiftly and cleanly killed the Zerg.
The Imperial City’s guard forces also arrived.
The red Battle Armor vanished like a fading light, and Su Yan’s figure appeared before them.
"Commander Su!" The man in the lead hurriedly saluted.
"An A-level White-Eyed Worm was lurking under this street for so long that it grew this large. What the hell do you do on your daily patrols?" Su Yan’s chilling red eyes bored into the Beastman soldier, filled with icy rage.
The Beastman soldier dropped to his knees, breaking out in a cold sweat. "I have failed in my duty!"
"You have indeed." Su Yan’s voice was laced with ice. "All guard teams will attend a daily class on Zerg Race detection from now on."
"Yes, sir." The Beastman soldier didn’t dare to object.
"Clean up the scene," Su Yan ordered icily before turning away.
The Beastman soldier quickly led his n to secure and process the area.
Su Yan glanced at the ti on his Light Brain. Three minutes until 11:40.
With no ti for further thought, he hurried from the scene.
