Chapter 30 – 29 Rewards (Please Bookmark and Recomnd)_1
After a quarter of an hour of taking turns to inspect the items, everyone had a clear understanding of the three objects at hand.
The excitent and joy gradually subsided, and Clan Leader Lin Shihua asked Lin Tianming about how he ca into possession of the items, in case they needed to be prepared for any trouble that might arise.
Under the scrutiny of many clan mbers, Lin Tianming recounted the whole event, deliberately omitting the matter of the Heavenly Grade Technique.
Learning that the treasures ca from a loose cultivator and that no traces were discovered afterward, everyone unanimously breathed a sigh of relief.
Any one of these three items could cause several clans at the Foundation Establishnt Stage to fight bloody battles. The family elders were very clear that in these troubled tis, it was not easy to make enemies.
Now that the facts were clear, it was natural to discuss the disposition of the items.
After thoughtful consideration, Lin Tianming took the initiative to speak:
“All three items will be handed over to the clan in exchange for a portion of rit and spirit stones. As for the creation of Minor Foundation Building Pills, I request three to be given to Lin Tianming without any cost, with the excess managed by the clan.”
Fifteen batches of Minor Foundation Building Pills could be refined from the fifteen Hidden Spirit Grasses. The main ingredient, Hidden Spirit Grass, was precious, but the other auxiliary dicinal ingredients were manageable. The Lin Family Treasure Vault could gather most, and the few that were missing could be bought at so cost.
If the alchemist was competent, with fifteen batches of ingredients and a success rate of thirty percent, they could expect about fifteen pills. Accounting for the alchemist’s remuneration, more than ten pills were a certainty.
To request three pills without compensation was by no ans an excessive demand considering his contribution.
Upon hearing Lin Tianming’s words, many family elders began to ponder and even discuss in small groups.
So clan mbers argued there were many in the Lin Family at the Ninth Level of Qi Refinent and Great Perfection who greatly needed the Minor Foundation Building Pills; three pills were too many. One would be appropriate, with additional compensation in spirit stones or rit.
However, a portion of the elders believed Lin Tianming’s request was not excessive at all. He had made significant contributions to the Lin Family, and it would not be right to demand the items from him; they should unconditionally fulfill his request.
The great hall imdiately buzzed with debate. Those in support of Lin Tianming were mostly elders of the Shi generation, while those who opposed were predominantly Xing Clan mbers.
At that mont, when the main hall was abuzz with argunts,
a loud shout thundered through the hall like an explosion, silencing everyone.
“Enough! Our family has survived nurous crises over eight hundred years, yet now we bicker shafully over the fortune a junior has found. How does this look?”
“If the family is to prosper, we must be as fair as possible; re exploitation and plundering are no different from banditry and only serve to dishearten our clan mbers.”
“Put yourself in Tianming’s position and ask whether you would still be willing to dedicate yourself to the family. We are a family, not a sect. We need young people like Tianming; otherwise, when we pass away, we won’t have the face to et our ancestors.”
After a scolding from Lin Shikang, who had the highest cultivation in the Lin Family, the opposing elders all bowed their heads in sha, their faces flushed with embarrassnt.
With the staunch support of two Foundation Establishnt Stage elders, the family elders reached a unanimous decision.
Clan Leader Lin Shihua spoke:
“Award Tian Ming five thousand rit points or low-grade spirit stones, waive the restriction on performing family missions, award fifty sets of Lingshen Pill alchemical materials, fifty sets of various First Order Superior Grade alchemical spiritual dicines, ten High Quality Talisman papers, and three First Order Superior Grade Spiritual Instrunts, with the type unrestricted.”
“Additionally, if Minor Foundation Building Pills are created, regardless of the total number, three will be given to Lin Tianming without any compensation.”
Upon hearing this, Lin Tianming was very satisfied, feeling that the clan had been quite fair. Although the three items would fetch at least a hundred thousand spirit stones in the market, the family’s finances were indeed limited. Besides, the creation of Minor Foundation Building Pills also required substantial resources.
Even if the family had the will, it could not easily provide a hundred thousand spirit stones without compromising normal operations. The only option was to offer additional rewards in the form of dicinal materials, ans to contend with adversaries, and so special privileges.
Finally, Lin Shikang said to Lin Tianming:
“Tian Ming, the family truly has its difficulties. These awards are hardly worth ntioning. I hope you don’t take it to heart. When the family’s finances improve in the future, we will make every effort to compensate you.”
When Lin Tianming heard this, he was also deeply moved! He stood up to express his gratitude, saying:
“Tianming is a mber of the family, too, running with the blood of the Lin Family. Those ancestors who laid down their lives for the family with selfless devotion, my contribution is nothing compared to theirs, all the elders need not bla themselves.”
“Look, even a teenager has a stronger sense of duty than many of our clan mbers,”
Lin Shikang’s ironic comnt made those clan mbers who had initially opposed him feel even more ashad and embarrassed.
Discussions of the rewards ca to an end, and it was now ti to talk about the thod for refining the Minor Foundation Building Pills.
There was not a qualified Second Order Alchemist in the Lin Family, so to refine these pills, they would have to seek the help of an alchemist from outside.
Many clan mbers also started a discussion about this.
In the entire Luoyun Mountain Range, Second Order Alchemists were rare, and a few of them were closely related to the Lin Family’s rival clans, making it extrely difficult to ask for their help.
Furthermore, although the Minor Foundation Building Pills were not as precious as the Foundation Establishnt Pills, they were valuable nonetheless, and the Lin Family dared not let even the slightest rumor leak out with such large quantities at stake.
If the opposing forces got wind of it, they might very well kill for treasure, and even if they managed to keep it safe, they would suffer significant losses.
After so discussion, the senior family mbers unanimously decided to take the Spiritual dicine Materials to Qianchuan Market in the Wei Kingdom and ask Ye Pinghai, an old friend of Lin Shigong, for help in refining them.
Ye Pinghai was a Loose Cultivator, at the late stage of Foundation Establishnt, and a Second Order dium Grade Alchemist. In his earlier years during the Qi Refinent period, he was saved by Lin Shigong. The two beca close friends, exchanged alchemy techniques, and on several occasions had refined precious elixirs for the Lin Family, making him the best candidate for help.
After discussions and arrangents by the senior family mbers, for the coming month, the family would collect other Spiritual dicine Materials needed for refining the Minor Foundation Building Pills. In a month, Lin Shilu, accompanied by Lin Tianming, would set off to Qianchuan Market to look for Ye Pinghai.
The reason for taking Lin Tianming was twofold, one for the experience, and two because Lin Tianming was a direct descendant of Lin Shigong. By going there, he could learn alchemy from Ye Pinghai as well as build a good relationship.
Having the direct guidance of a Second Order Alchemist would be of great help in improving Lin Tianming’s skills in alchemy. Moreover, with Lin Tianming’s extraordinary abilities and all the Lin Family mbers at the Ninth Level of Qi Refinent busy with family affairs, taking him along would be a significant advantage.
The task of guarding Qingfeng Town would be taken over by another family mber.
The matter of the treasures ca to a close, the clan mbers left the great hall one after another, and Lin Tianming along with his grandparents, also stood up to leave.
Back in his courtyard, Lin Tianming took out a large piece of Spirit-Connecting Python at and handed it to Ren Yuxuan to prepare a feast for the evening, so the family could joyfully share a reunion dinner.
After the al, Lin Tianming took out twenty Lingshen Pills and gave fifteen to his mother and five to his sister.
His sister happily accepted the Lingshen Pills and ran off to cultivate. In the year that Lin Tianming was away, their mother had given her two Lingshen Pills to aid in her cultivation, which helped her successfully break through to the Third Level of Qi Refinent.
Seeing so many Lingshen Pills, his mother beca both touched and happy, seeing her son so accomplished, far surpassing her own achievents, with a future that seed boundless, she couldn’t help but feel proud.
’Mother, you’re getting on in years, and the chances of breaking through to the Foundation Establishnt Stage are slim; you should keep these pills for yourself,’
’Mother, I’m now a qualified First Order dium Grade Alchemist. These pills were all refined by myself, and at least for now, I have no shortage of elixirs for cultivation. You always saved all the Spirit Stones and elixirs for Tian Yue and ; now, it’s ti for your son to repay you.’
Lin Shigong and Lin Xingrong also joined in, trying to persuade her:
’Yuxuan, I’m afraid this boy is now several tis wealthier than I am, aside from Third Brother and Shi Lu, no one in the family is richer than him.’
’Yes, Yuxuan, this boy is not the sa as before. Just take them and catch up on the cultivation you’ve missed out on over the years.’
Moved to near tears by everyone’s earnest urging, Ren Yuxuan accepted the pills and stored them in her bag.
As it was getting very late, after so words of advice from his grandfather and father, Lin Tianming returned to his own room.
Exhausted, he lay down on the bed he had slept in for over ten years and fell into a deep sleep.
