The Jin Family was a prominent clan in Dancheng, so as the criminal police captain, Zhang knew of Jin Luoshan. However, their acquaintance was limited to just that.

This Captain Zhang was indeed the sa Officer Zhang who had encountered Ding Fan during the Myanmar Restoration Organization's assassination attempt on Qin Manshu at the school.
Originally just a captain of the criminal police, Zhang's outstanding performance during the school incident had made him a role model within Dancheng's police force and a city hero. He was promoted to oversee the West District as a director.
