Chapter 1136: Chapter 180: Reincarnated (4)

Mo Mo had Lv Yiyun bring her father Lv Hai’s blood late at night just to avoid trouble—but he never expected anyone to e near here in this terrible weather and at such a late hour.

The footsteps were urgent and heavy, not like those of someone skilled in martial arts… it was an ordinary person.

If he were caught at night with a young girl in such a place, it would be hard to wash away the suspicion—even with the trendy dyed golden hair from years ago, at heart, he was still a Taoist.

He covered the little girl’s mouth while pulling her to a corner of the woodshed and hiding her there, snatched away her umbrella as well, and finally clapped his hands, stirring up dust inside the house to cover the water marks… this was done almost in one go without making a single sound.

Mo Mo was very satisfied with his reaction.

“Sorry, bear with it for a while.”

Despite this, Mo Mo tried his best to avoid touching the other person in the narrow space.

The door opened, and someone walked in… it was a middle-aged man. After he came in, he took off his raincoat with a face full of gloom, then skillfully fished out a kerosene lamp from the corner of the woodshed and lit it.

After that, the man sat down, lit a cigarette, and began to smoke.

The little girl and Mo Mo, under the light, also saw the man’s appearance clearly… the little girl opened her mouth, seeming to recognize who this man was.

“Do you know this person?”

The voice echoed in the little girl’s ear—but she did not see Mo Mo’s lips move.

“I have the ability to deal with monsters and naturally have these kinds of abilities too; don’t be too surprised… Do you know this person?” Mo Mo’s voice entered Lv Yiyun’s ears again.

The little girl nodded, then looked around, and used her finger to dip in the water on the umbrella, writing on the floor: The village branch secretary, Secretary Wu.

Mo Mo frowned… why did the secretary of Lv Village e to such a place in the middle of the night?

But it did not take long for another visitor to arrive—a person whom both Mo Mo and Lv Yiyun knew well.

It was none other than the owner of the inn, Luo Aiyu.

“Oh e on, didn’t I say I wouldn’t e out tonight! In this ghostly weather, do you know how hard it was for me to get here?” The man’s voice resounded.

Then it was the woman’s voice.

“That useless ghost suddenly came back today; I don’t want to sleep next to him. If you don’t e, I’ll go find you! Don’t think you can get away with it!”

“How could that be!”

Rubbing, panting… the joyous sounds gradually became intense, almost drowned by the sound of wind and rain. However, the two hiding felt only torment.

Mo Mo didn’t know how the little girl felt at this moment, but he felt extremely awkward—what should he do after breaking an affair between someone’s daughter and her stepmother?

Mo Mo was desperate too…

“Stay calm, remember what I told you.” Mo Mo had to steady his mind and remind the little girl—at that moment, there was a faint sign of an increase in the monster’s aura within her.

Noticing this, Mo Mo reached out his finger, tapped it on her forehead, secretly casting a magic formula to clear her mind… but Lv Yiyun, after regaining clarity, showed nothing but sorrow and indignation.

Mo Mo had to pretend not to see, continuing to say through voice transmission, “They shouldn’t take long… Once they’re gone, we can leave; let’s avoid an embarrassing situation for everyone.”

The Taoists of Dragon Tiger Mountain capture monsters, subdue demons, exorcise ghosts, and perform rituals, but they don’t catch adulterers…

The sounds of pleasure gradually subsided, and the satisfied panting of the man and woman began to surface… Just as Mo Mo sighed a breath of relief, the pair started to talk to themselves again.

“I want a divorce, I don’t want to stay with that loser anymore. When I got married, I didn’t know, this whole family is just freaks! I can’t take it anymore! If I don’t leave, I’ll go crazy!”

“Wait a bit longer!”

“Wait for what! Until you get reassigned and leave without a trace? I’m telling you, there’s no way! If you dare take advantage and leave, I’ll cause a scene at your office, exposing your affair with me!”

“Don’t make a fuss.” The man lit another cigarette, took two puffs, “Recently, there’s a project from above aimed at supporting development around here. Several villages nearby will have a significant amount of land requisitioned. Although Lv Hai might not be very petent, their entire mountain belongs to him. Under his father Lv Buhai’s name… you get it?”

“What do you mean?”

“I gather he’s unwilling to sell… That won’t do. This project’s massive, and I’ve heard the town council brought in several big developers, planning to transform this area into a seaside entertainment and vacation zone, investing billions! Your husband’s mountain is worth a fortune!”

“Oh my, you’re not lying to me!”

“Why would I lie to you! Silly woman, have you no idea what your husband’s worth? Do you really think Lv Hai’s only holding is a shabby inn? I’ve looked over the village’s past records to find out, the entire mountain belongs to your husband! Though it’s strange, the village folks are miserly, yet they offered such a big mountain to Lv Hai… as some sort of pensation. But those old timers refuse to spill the beans.”

“But… but if that useless man won’t sell, what can we do?”

“People think up solutions… I believe you shouldn’t divorce; if you do, you’ll end up with nothing. According to property law, as long as you stay married, you’ll stake a claim in that land too!”

“Really… if, if it’s sold, how much will it be worth?”

“Hard to say, the village won’t offer a high price for the land, there’s a lot of handling and maneuvering involved, but it should easily fetch tens of millions. Developers are surely willing to invest given the location.”

“Tens of millions… my god. What did you just say? I also have a share?”

“The premise is that he agrees to sell. But this old fellow’s reportedly lost his mind, getting him to sign may be tough.”

After a while, the woman’s voice suddenly arose.

“Say, if that old geezer actually dies, would… Lv Hai’s signature be valid then?”

“What… what are you planning?”

“After all, that old coot’s already beyond saving; alive he’s a burden, might as well be dead!”

“Don’t do anything rash! We can’t take lives for money!”

“Burden? He’s a plague alive! You have no idea how I’ve had to care for him daily… Besides, everyone’s aware of how old and mentally unsound he is! Anytime he missteps and falls down the stairs, going belly up, wouldn’t that be natural?”

Listening along, Mo Mo felt something was amiss… the two of them were actually conspiring for murder—yet in that moment of shock, Lv Yiyun beside him suddenly rushed out.

In an instant, the monster’s aura erupted, and a sharp, inhuman sound burst from her mouth… The piercing noise instantly shattered the window glass!

The howling wind blew in, extinguishing the kerosene lamp in a heartbeat.

“You deserve to die—!!!”

In the instant the sharp cry erupted, all Secretary Wu and inn owner Luo Aiyu saw was a black shadow rushing at them through the flashing lightning, revealing a face devoid of normal human traits, covered with azure scales!

“Ghost—!”

At the moment the terrifying face came into view, Secretary Wu was so scared that he fell straight to the ground and fainted — while Luo Aiyu, on the other hand, was staring fearfully at her legs and scrambled out of the door.

“Wretch, I’ll kill you—!!!”

The piercing voice rang out behind Luo Aiyu, and as she rushed out through the door, she could no longer care about the storm, the mud covering her, only feeling a chilling sensation ing from behind.

She rolled several meters away, only hearing the sharp voice echo again. Luo Aiyu was instantly scared out of her wits, fleeing down the mountain in panic and desperation.

Inside the house, Lv Yiyun was pressed against the floor by Mo Mo’s palm on her back, Mo Mo looked solemn as she whispered a mand, “Lin!”

Lv Yiyun was only focused on struggling desperately.

“Calm down! If you actually kill someone, your life is done for! They are just plotting, they haven’t done anything to your family! You have no reason to lose control! But if you lose control and kill someone now, I’ll take you in immediately! Think about your father and grandfather!!”

Lv Yiyun held her head painfully, screaming in agony.

“You are human, not a monster!” Mo Mo took a breath, flipped her hand, and struck another Dharma Seal onto Lv Yiyun’s back, “Remember, you are human!”

Lv Yiyun’s consciousness emptied and she fainted instantly.

Mo Mo sat down heavily on the ground, glanced at the village secretary who had also fainted, and frowned, recalling her earlier conversation with Luo Aiyu, “Master was right, people really are cold-hearted…”

When Lv Yiyun came back to her senses, she found herself lying in bed…in her own room.

Mo Mo was sitting beside the bed, meditating. She instinctively sat up, feeling her head heavy, as if it had been cracked open and then stitched back together.

“Came back to your senses?” Mo Mo slowly opened his eyes, “Is your body unfortable anywhere, or do you feel like vomiting? Pay close attention to the details, your monster’s blood suddenly erupted, although I forcibly suppressed it…but if it happened once, it can happen again, you must behave.”

Lv Yiyun gritted her teeth, gripping the corner of the bed sheet, “My mom…where’s that woman?”

“Ran away.” Mo Mo shook his head, “Ran all the way down the mountain, probably scared out of her wits, hasn’t returned yet. As for Secretary Wu, he also rushed out after waking up.”

“Best if they never return!” The girl spoke with hatred in her eyes.

The intensity of hatred in her eyes was alarming…but Mo Mo inexplicably felt relieved—best if they never return, the girl ultimately harbors some kindness at heart.

“Don’t worry about it, I’ll find a way to deal with it.” Mo Mo shook his head, “Although I’m not good at handling such matters, it’s better than you dealing with it haphazardly…Alright, I won’t say too much, just remember, as long as you behave, I won’t do anything to you. But no matter your reason, if you lose control and kill someone, I’ll e for you immediately.”

He stood up, “Rest well.”

“Thank…you.”

Listening to the girl’s words, Mo Mo suddenly stopped and spoke softly, “Why thank me, you should thank that lady. After all, it’s her who pushed for the demon residence management law…in the past, it wouldn’t have been so easy.”

“That lady?”

“Pretend you don’t know, you probably won’t have the chance to meet her anyway.” Mo Mo shrugged, “Even I haven’t actually seen her…rest and calm yourself.”

Mo Mo closed the door but didn’t leave immediately, instead leaning against Lv Yiyun’s room door, sighing…he felt someone’s gaze fall upon him.

At the end of the corridor.

Mo Mo looked sharply and saw murky eyes…an old man.

He stood there quietly, didn’t say a word, just watched. His face showed no expression, as if he was thinking about something, or perhaps knowing nothing.

“You…”

Just as Mo Mo wanted to ask something, the old man at the end of the corridor turned around, expressionless, and walked back to his room, step by step.

Seemed senile…this should be Lv Yiyun’s grandfather, Lv Buhai, Mo Mo thought.

He didn’t chase after him, instead remembering the blood-stained tissue sent by Lv Yiyun was still in hand, he returned to the room…he still had things to do.

As for Lv Hai, he probably fell asleep from exhaustion after returning and knew nothing…probably quite relaxed?

In the storm, two men were hurrying through the pouring rain.

One of the men was carrying a third person on his back, covered by a raincoat—the place they were rushing to was the village’s only clinic.

“Doctor! Doctor, save her! Doctor! Save her!!”

The two men rushed into the clinic and shouted urgently—at this moment, a man in pajamas walked out, “What’s the matter?”

“Brother Chaosheng, help! Please take a look at my aunt, something’s wrong with her!” The young man looked terrified, directly placing the person on his back onto the chair.

The village’s only educated, acplished doctor, Doctor Lv Chaosheng frowned as he lifted the raincoat off the person, scared by what he saw.

The hands and face were covered in creepy keratin growths, like coral or tree roots.

The village doctor’s face turned pale instantly, “This…this is…”

“Brother Lv Chao, can you cure her?” the man asked fearfully.

“First…let’s take her inside.” Doctor Lv Chaosheng steadied himself, “Whether she can be saved or not, I need to take a look first…I’ll go get my stethoscope from the room, hurry up.”

“Okay, okay! We’ll do it right away!” The man hurriedly brought her inside.

At that moment, Doctor Lv Chaosheng rushed to his office—it was unexpected that the lights inside were on.

Doctor Lv Chaosheng pushed the door open, finding a young man sitting in his chair, going through files.

“Who…who are you? What are you doing here!” Doctor Lv Chaosheng was shocked.

The young man looked up, gazed at Doctor Lv Chaosheng, expressionless, “Before I answer your question, shouldn’t you tell me…what is this Lv Village residents’ health examination report all about.”

Doctor Lv Chaosheng was instantly shocked!
