Chapter 944: Chapter 188: Encounter
Remember, this train conductor Cage was supposed to follow me, but when Bucky had him go ahead to meet up with his crew, a bunch of plainclothes officers suddenly appeared.
At that moment, Bucky thought there was no way he could bother with Cage, so he quickly made a run for it himself.
A whole slew of events happened after that, and if not for running into him here today, Bucky probably would have pletely forgotten about the guy.
Bucky basically forgot some of the promises he made to Cage, but the phrase ‘my boss Bucky’ left quite an impression on him!
“Get lost if you don’t want to die, okay?” the heavily tattooed youth said, holding an iron pipe, patting it against his palm, as he walked up to Bucky.
“Hah, is this how the boys in the game are nowadays? Way worse than back in the day.” Bucky sighed, “I really wonder how your boss teaches you.”
“I am the boss.” The youth sneered, “Looks like you’re looking for trouble… You know this guy, huh? He stole money from me. I taught him a lesson. You got a problem with that?”
“You already beat him up, just let it go.” Bucky said calmly, “Friend, give me some face. We’re all in the same game. We bump into each other all the time. You never know, we might end up working together in the future.”
“Then let me make YOU bow down before me!” The vicious youth said as he swung the iron pipe in his hand, “Dammit, dare to act tough in front of me!”
Unexpectedly, Bucky easily caught the swinging iron pipe, holding it firmly in his hand. The vicious youth was stunned and tried to pull the weapon back with great force, but found that once Bucky grasped it, it wouldn’t budge an inch!
“Ignore my leniency, then don’t blame me!” Bucky sneered, “Talking about rules with me? When I was in the game, you lot were still peeking at hookers eating meat/rice… rookies!”
With that, Bucky kicked directly, landing a powerful blow to the youth’s belly — the force sent him flying more than two meters away!
The young man lay on the ground, writhing in pain, before frothing at the mouth and passing out.
Seeing this, the remaining young men moved in, but Bucky immediately bent the iron pipe he had just snatched in front of them and tossed it casually to the ground.
He gestured with a sinister smile on his face, “If you’re not afraid to die… e at me!”
Bucky’s words instantly scared the color out of the young men’s faces. Someone shouted, and the group scattered, turning to run into the alleyway.
“Pathetic.”
Bucky sighed, lamenting that the young thugs these days were not what they used to be, as he walked up to Cage, helping him up, “You okay… didn’t expect you to be this heavy?”
“You are…?” Cage, eyes swollen from the beating, looked in shock at the man who helped him.
There was no doubt this guy was well-dressed, charming, probably someone with money… What was he doing in a place full of riffraff instead of some upscale club?
And on top of that, he actually stepped in to help him?
Bucky laughed, “Because my boss is also Bucky!”
Cage was taken aback, then suddenly hugged Bucky’s leg, crying, “I finally found the organization! Boss Bucky, I finally found out about you!”
“Hey, hey…”

This guy looks like he hasn’t had a proper meal for days.
In the hospital’s outdoor café, Bucky was sipping a frozen drink through a straw, watching in amazement as Cage, heavily bandaged, devoured his food, “Let me know if you need more…”
“Another serving of roasted steak, please!” Cage showed no sign of politeness — on the way here, he acted like he was Bucky’s lifesaver.
From the conversation along the way, Bucky finally understood what happened after he was betrayed and Cage was captured that day.
It turns out, the hidden cops mistook Cage for Bucky and, in their rage, gave him a brutal lesson before throwing him into the holding cell.
It was only after Cage got himself a lawyer and went through many hurdles that he finally got bailed out. His explanation to the police was — he was coerced by Bucky under threat of life, and that’s why he reluctantly helped Bucky escape.
The police seemed to buy his story after checking Cage’s files, and eventually let him go — but that was just the beginning of Cage’s troubles.
First, Cage lost his job because he helped a felon escape with a prison van.
When he got bailed out, he discovered his wife had run off with another man, taking their daughter with her — the house was in her name from their marriage, and it had already been sold, leaving Cage on the street.
Jobless, homeless, and finding the joint account empty, Cage became penniless, and even owed a sizeable amount for legal fees.
Financial pressure forced Cage into a life of crime — he started by robbing pedestrians, and after succeeding a few times, he got bolder.
Today, he saw a promising target for theft, but didn’t expect the woman he tried to rob was the girlfriend of a minor gang leader in the area.
That did it; Cage was chased into the alley and beaten mercilessly.
Cage suddenly opened his greasy mouth and asked, “Was it Boss Bucky who sent you to save me this time? I knew it! Boss Bucky is all about loyalty, he wouldn’t just abandon me!”
Hmm…
“Of course! Our Boss Bucky is known for his loyalty, the whole world knows that! It’s a privilege to know such a great boss in my life!” Bucky felt neither guilty nor blushed as he said this.
Probably from all the times he’s conned followers?
“Is Boss Bucky alright now? Is he safe?” Cage asked nervously, “I saw a lot of people trying to catch him that day!”
“He’s fine now, very safe, doing well, no need to worry,” Bucky replied casually… Hmm, he finally remembered what he promised Cage back then.
“So… can I go see Boss Bucky then?” Cage looked at him, full of hope.
