Chapter 972: Chapter 16: Lost (6)
Qiao An in black looked at Luo Qiu in fear, unable to speak.
In fact, the last time she took Paul away from him, she felt terrified by the young man’s gaze—what is the current year over there.
This should be her biggest secret, but how did this young man know—even seeming to know about the ring.
“You… are you also…” Qiao An in black’s mind directly pointed to an answer she could understand.
“Me?” Luo Qiu shook his head, “I’ve always been here, at least for now, I haven’t left this place.”
“But how did you…” Qiao An in black was surprised.
He’s someone that’s easy to believe, unintentionally, Qiao An in black didn’t feel he was lying.
Luo Qiu simply said: “Just like the ring in your hand, if such things exist, then the existence of some unusual things is also quite normal.”
Qiao An in black frowned but maintained her distance from Luo Qiu.
“May I see the ring?” Luo Qiu suddenly asked.
Qiao An in black was suddenly taken aback, her body stepped back immediately.
But Luo Qiu said: “Miss Joanne, don’t you want to know why the ring isn’t working right now.”
“You… you just want to take it from me.” Qiao An in black said trembling—yet at this moment, her hand was uncontrollably stretching out.
Her tightly clenched hand started to open up slightly, revealing the ring held in her palm—it was clear this wasn’t her intention.
Her body lost control, she became even more terrified… the level of fear was no less than when she discovered the ring’s functions.
But her body quickly returned to normal, she clenched the ring in her palm once again… Qiao An in black looked sharply at Luo Qiu.
Luo Qiu softly said: “I hope you understand, if I wanted to take it, it wouldn’t be much trouble… So, can you let me see it?”
Qiao An bit her lip, but ultimately lacked the courage to flee in front of him. She hesitated for a moment but eventually walked over to Luo Qiu, opening her hand slowly, full of anxiousness.
Luo Qiu took out a new handkerchief, covered his hand, then lifted the ring from Qiao An in black’s palm and started examining it carefully.
“I met another Miss Joanne in the security room, she was much calmer than you, probably because she’s an actress.” Luo Qiu suddenly said.
Qiao An in black was startled, smiled bitterly, “I’m not an actress… We’re different.”
“I understand why it can’t be activated.” Luo Qiu quickly handed the ring back to Qiao An in black.
It seemed unbelievable to Qiao An in black that he returned the item—and so quickly, when the ring touched her palm, she was unable to react.
“You…” she stared blankly.
“It’s an energy issue.” Luo Qiu slowly said, “The energy in this ring has been depleted, likely due to multiple uses. If you want to use it again, you’ll need to recharge it. That’s the simplest method.”
“Incredible…” Qiao An in black opened her mouth, the ring malfunctioned due to such a simple reason, “Then… do you know how to recharge it?”
“Before that, I want to know where you plan to go.” Luo Qiu looked at Qiao An in black, not blinking, just staring into her eyes.
“Where… it must be the world where Paul and I are!” Qiao An in black said excitedly.
Luo Qiu closed his eyes, after a while he opened them and sighed, calmly said, “Sorry, I currently don’t know how to recharge the ring.”
“What?!” Qiao An in black exclaimed, opening her mouth.
Simultaneously, Luo Qiu glanced at Paul, who suddenly buried his head in Qiao An in black’s shoulder, grabbing tightly onto her shoulder.
“Take good care of this child… But I believe you will.” Luo Qiu suddenly said, “Also, consider well whether you are willing to kill yourself to obtain the life you want.”
“I… I don’t understand what you mean.”
“You will understand… I have something to do, I’ll leave now.” Luo Qiu said, suddenly stepping back from in front of Qiao An in black and gradually disappearing.
“Wait, e back, e back!”
In the lounge, only Qiao An in black and Paul remained, no third person was present.
Qiao An in black lowered her head, her body trembling slightly, while Paul softly called out, “Mom…”
Qiao An in black shivered, quickly raised her head, smiling gently, “Paul, be good, be obedient okay? Mom will protect you… No one can separate us. Definitely… definitely!”
Paul, terrified again, buried his head and quietly watched Qiao An in black’s palm.
Trembling, tightly clenched, nails deeply dug into skin, knuckles turning white.
“The ring… the ring!”
Qiao An in black suddenly looked at the ring in her palm, a crazy thought popped up: If this ring has no energy, then other rings… maybe other rings still have!
“Paul, we will definitely go to a happy world, where no one can hurt us, separate us!”
…
…
“Thank you.”
Agumos took two bottles of water and a warmed meal box from the airport staff, then quickly returned to Joanne’s side.
The airport wasn’t worried about supplies—as this time period doesn’t have many passengers.
Currently, alerts in some areas were lifted, initiating personnel transfers. However, every passenger must undergo identity checks to leave.
It’s not something unacceptable—despite the chaos causing many passengers to protest.
Staff from airlines and the airport are all deployed, but they still can’t handle the situation at the moment.
The queue for inspections is too long, Agumos and Joanne feel helpless and can only sit quietly aside.
“Have something to eat, we don’t know how long we’ll wait.” Agumos said looking at the long queue, sat down helplessly.
Joanne lifted the blanket covering her, giving Agumos a share too.
The two shared a blanket, quietly sat together, Joanne rested her head on Agumos’s shoulder, squinting, lost in thought.
“Do you remember the concert in New York last winter?” Agumos suddenly said.
“Concert?” Joanne raised her head in confusion, looking at Agumos.
Agumos nodded, smiled, “Don’t remember? Last winter, we secretly went to watch a concert. To avoid attention, we bought tickets early. That day, it even snowed, the outdoor venue, everyone was under blankets, just like now.”
“Yeah, I didn’t know how I managed to watch till the end then.” Joanne said, head low, leaning against Agumos’s chest, “Maybe because you were with me.”
“You know how to sweet talk.” Agumos smiled back, “And who wanted to leave first then?”
“Did I?” Joanne closed her eyes, “That was you.”
Agumos just smiled, not minding Joanne’s denying.
Joanne suddenly said, “Agumos, let’s get married?”
“Married?” Agumos lowered his head, looking at Joanne, the eastern woman he had chosen long ago, looking at her eyes like looking into her heart, instinctively said, “But wasn’t it you who said until you fulfilled your dream, you wouldn’t consider it?”
Joanne held Agumos’s hands, “It’s unfair to let you wait… Besides, there’s no rule saying you can’t act after marriage. I don’t want to be labeled by the pany. I am Joanne, I am myself.”
“Qiao An.” Agumos called affectionately.
Qiao An smiled faintly at this moment, a smile capable of moving any man, just like her role in the award-winning movie last year, invoking a sense of pity in a mere instant.
It was this smile that allowed her to break through the numerous petitors and successfully win the Best Newer Award.
“I want to have a child with you.” Qiao An leaned against Agumos’s chest, “I’ll teach him acting, you’ll teach him posing. He’ll surely bee an outstanding person… Our family will be very happy.”
“What a future worth dreaming about.” Agumos held her, inhaling the scent of her hair, smiling, “I don’t know why, but it feels like you’ve suddenly bee more mature and gentle.”
“Are you plaining about me before?” Qiao An raised her head and glared playfully.
This grace is rarely seen at Qiao An’s age, making Agumos unable to resist kissing her lips in a moment of peculiarity.
She responded eagerly.
After a long while, Agumos pulled away slightly breathless, “Oh, my god! I never knew you were such a great kisser, you’re so passionate.”
Qiao An gently pinched Agumos’s waist and whispered in his ear, “Once we’re married, I’ll give myself to you… Agumos, my lover.”
This must be a declaration no man can resist… Agumos felt the male instinct within him hard to control, his heart racing.
How did she bee so enchanting…
“Miss Joanne at the airport, please go to the XX airline’s temporary point after hearing the broadcast…”
“At the airport…”
Suddenly, repeated broadcasts came on in two different languages.
The broadcast startled the lovers engrossed in their romance, Agumos and Qiao An looked up simultaneously, both frowning.
“What’s going on, why is this broadcast looking for you?” Agumos was bewildered.
Qiao An lowered her head, “I don’t know… However, let’s leave here first.”
Agumos was taken aback, then realized the situation—the broadcast had caused some motion.
Perhaps not many had seen Qiao An in person, but certainly many had watched the movie she starred in last year—or at least heard of the name of this new actress through various means.
“Qiao An? This name sounds so familiar?”
“Isn’t this the Best Newer Award winner Qiao An?”
“Wow, I’m actually in the same place as her? She’s my goddess!”
The discussions gradually grew livelier.
Agumos stood up at once, pulling Qiao An up and protecting her shoulder with his hand, the two of them quickly left the place with their heads down.
…
…
You can’t blame the police for being the last ones to arrive, as they are only notified after things happen.
“Where’s the deceased?”
The forensic doctor rushed to the scene, put on his ID badge, and crossed the police line.
The entrances to these two restrooms were already closed off, and three guards stood watch.
“Inside, the men’s restroom.” One of the airport guards promptly pointed. The forensic doctor said nothing more and hurriedly entered the men’s restroom with his assistant.
Yet it was only a short while before the forensic doctor came rushing out, “Where’s the body? Did you move it?”
“No, wasn’t it covered with a white cloth… huh?”
The guard was instantly bewildered—because inside the men’s restroom, where the body was supposed to be, apart from a white cloth, was there any sign of the victim’s body?
The scene was merely left with a large amount of blood.
“How could this be…” Several guards were panicked at this moment—because not just them, but many airport special police could attest that the horrifyingly dead body was clearly lying there!
“No one came in, we were guarding here the whole time, it’s even more impossible for anyone to carry the body out! But the body… how did the body disappear?”
“How could something so bizarre happen?” The forensic doctor frowned, believing in science, “Search everywhere, and I’ll look for clues here, plus notify more people!”
“O-okay!”
…
It truly is a frightening day.
It ought to be time to get off work—yet the plump cleaning lady sighed.
Not only was the airport temporarily closed due to an unexplained explosion, but she was also later called for questioning by airport police.
The guy in the smoking room smoking heavily, he didn’t look like a good person… Damn kid, made me late for getting off work!!
The cleaning lady angrily pummeled the mop into a bucket of dirty water, venting her dissatisfaction—she still had to clean the restrooms on this floor before she could end her shift.
Of course, the airport had temporarily stopped all current work—but who knows when work will resume, and then when it’ll be time to get off work!
So she could only e over quietly.
Placing the wet mop on the ground nonchalantly, the cleaning lady began mopping the floor. But when she reached a particular stall, she saw some red liquid seeping from under the door.
“What’s going on, who’s in there?” The lady knocked on the door, “Messed up the floor! Say something!!”
No matter how she shouted, there was no response from the stall… Yet more of that red liquid flowed out.
The cleaning lady frowned, crouched down, peered through the gap under the door.
“Ah—!!!”
The cleaning lady screamed, jumped up, and clutched her collar in terror—she had seen a woman lying in a pool of blood through the gap!
“Someone help! Help me! Help me! Help…”
But she didn’t shout for long before collapsing directly to the ground—oddly, though, her body didn’t hit the floor but seemed supported by something, preventing direct contact with the ground.
“Thank you for your hard work.”
A gentle voice, Luo Qiu’s voice, “Have a good rest, forget about this when you wake.”
Luo Qiu waved his hand, setting the cleaning lady down against the wall—then he placed his hand on the stall latch, giving it a light push.
The door swung open.
Revealing a woman stripped of almost all her clothes, left only in her underwear, lying curled up next to the toilet.
Her wrist had been slashed, a lot of blood had already flowed out, extending to the other two connected stalls… It was Qiao An.
Luo Qiu frowned at this sight and then snapped his fingers.
The blood flowing on the floor began to recede, inching back towards Qiao An’s wrist.
