The white light completely swallowed the three of them along with the train. Besides the endless darkness, the first thing that echoed in their ears was the surging ocean waves.
It was pouring rain, and flashes of lightning illuminated the entire world, allowing Bai Cheng to see the vast, boundless ocean all around.
In the distance, colossal waves surged towards the sky, as if connecting with the horizon, while closer, the churning seawater was terrifyingly dark.
Looking around, not a single piece of land could be seen!
The railway tracks materialized out of thin air on the sea surface, carrying the train forward at full speed in this apocalyptic scene.
For a mont, Bai Cheng and the other two were stunned.
Splash! Waves crashing against the train nearly shattered the glass windows. The three of them snapped back to reality and quickly closed the window armor to increase the train's defense.
“This is completely the end of the world!” Yu Nian was panicking. Thinking of the screen prompt earlier, she was even more confused, “What kind of civilization or race would live here?”
At this mont, Bai Cheng’s gaze turned to the detection Station.
“Current Area: Naless Sea”
“Abnormal Status: Raging Waves”
“Distance to next Station”
“This abnormal status, judging by its na, seems to just be a natural disaster?” Bai Cheng felt sowhat relieved at this.
No matter how turbulent the giant waves were, crashing against the train would at most reduce so durability. It couldn't possibly directly defy the system's power and derail the train, could it? How would they even play then?
But just as Bai Cheng thought this, there was a sudden deafening roar, and the entire train shook violently.
This was a giant wave hitting the train.
The few of them stumbled, and for a mont, she almost truly believed the train was going to derail.
“No, we can’t take that risk!”
Bai Cheng imdiately looked at Lan Xiaoyu, who was driving the train: “Xiaoyu!”
Upon hearing her, Lan Xiaoyu imdiately reached for the elental converter beside her. The next second, the train was instantly enveloped by water elents.
In this state, the train would ignore all obstacles. Water... should count too, right?
Bai Cheng stared intently at the front of the vehicle, wanting to check the effect.
But whether water counted as an obstacle no longer mattered, because Bai Cheng saw sothing even more shocking.
As the train passed, it cut through the sea surface like a sharp knife.
An invisible barrier seed to isolate the train, preventing all surrounding water from touching it. Even the giant waves, crashing with imnse force, disintegrated upon contact!
“That’s right, Xiaoyu’s ability can control water! In a state of elental resonance, all surrounding water elents will automatically avoid it!”
Like a fish in water!
In that case, in this Naless Sea, it probably wouldn’t cause them any more trouble.
Yu Nian and Leng Ningxue also relaxed at the sight, their faces showing relief.
“Good thing we have Xiaoyu. Now, as long as we don’t encounter any monster races, we can travel unimpeded.”
“Shh, don’t jinx it.”
“Speaking of which, Xiaoyu, how long can you maintain the train’s elental resonance state?” Bai Cheng asked the crucial question.
After all, this was different from activating a skill; it required the staff ❖ Nоvеl𝚒ght ❖ (Exclusive on Nоvеl𝚒ght) to continuously infuse power.
Of course, the good news was that it could be interrupted or activated at any ti.
Lan Xiaoyu pondered for a mont and replied, “Miss, with my current strength, I can maintain it for over four hours.”
Four hours of intermittent release, used to block wave attacks at critical monts, would be enough to last through the night.
“It’s okay, I should be able to try too,” Leng Ningxue suddenly said.
Bai Cheng and Yu Nian both looked over in surprise.
Indeed, among all the personnel on the train, the only ones with water-related abilities were Lan Xiaoyu and Leng Ningxue.
And Leng Ningxue’s ability was ice, which sounded like it could completely counter these waves.
“Freeze the entire sea surface?” Yu Nian wondered, “Wouldn’t that be too exaggerated?”
This was clearly impossible, especially since Leng Ningxue’s current strength had not yet reached War General-level.
“We won’t know until we try, right?” she replied.
Under the curious gazes of the two, she slowly walked to the driver’s console.
The mont she placed her hand on it, ice elents began to resonate with the train.
A chill swept through, and the previously separated water currents surged back, but were instantly frozen into solid ice.
The radiation range was only about two ters extending outwards from each side of the train’s width. Covered in cold air, an ice path was left behind the train wherever it passed.
Soon, giant waves attacked again, but countless ice crystals condensed as they approached the train, slowing them down.
The train instantly passed through, leaving the attack range.
Although it couldn’t completely freeze the waves, it was indeed effective.
“Elental Effect: Chill Invasion (All areas passed are frozen, slowing everything approaching the train).”
“No...” Leng Ningxue quickly withdrew her power, and Lan Xiaoyu took over.
“The consumption suddenly increased when the waves hit just now, I’m already drenched in sweat,” Leng Ningxue said, breathing heavily.
“This really isn’t sothing an Elite-grade can drive.”
“It’s okay, you did great compared to that night,” Yu Nian said, patting her shoulder reassuringly.
Leng Ningxue had a look of confusion.
Just then, information ca from the ring on Bai Cheng’s hand: “Wait, there are minerals around!”
Yu Nian looked over with a strange expression: “No, how are we supposed to mine in this weather?”
“No,” she suddenly realized, “it’s all ocean around us, where would the minerals be?”
Leng Ningxue frowned, guessing, “Could it be... on the seabed?”
“Are you kidding? How would we mine that?”
Never mind whether they could swim; in such deep water with giant waves, even a swimming champion would drown if they jumped in.
“Let’s wait until dawn,” Bai Cheng said. “Maybe it’s due to the influence of Silent Night, and the environnt will change during the day.”
Since they left the Station too early, it was still several hours until dawn.
After realizing the danger of the new environnt and resolving it, they could rest a little longer.
“Xiaoyu, conserve your stamina. Only use elental resonance at critical monts,” Bai Cheng instructed, and then the three of them turned and went to the bedroom.
“Speaking of which, as soone who grew up inland, this is my first ti seeing the ocean,” Yu Nian sighed, lying on the bed in the bedroom, listening to the patter of rain on the ceiling and feeling the surrounding waves surge.
From the darkness ca Leng Ningxue’s voice, with a hint of a smile: “How does it feel?”
“It’s not the azure blue I imagined. It’s scary, terrifying, it only makes feel insignificant, it’s completely the end of the world...”
The few of them chatted idly, and soon the entire bedroom beca quiet, gradually filled with the steady breathing of three young girls.
When the sun rose and Silent Night receded, Bai Cheng was the first to open her eyes from bed.
She quickly got up and curiously pulled back the curtains to look outside.
But the sight that t her eyes... still left her speechless.
