Inside the Desert Temple, there were ruins everywhere, with tall and majestic golden palaces standing within a bronze-colored enclosure.
Several paths intersected, leading in eight different directions.
At the end of each path was a massive crimson portal, with unknown energy surging, and in this silent place, the roars of hordes of monsters could even be heard from beyond them.
Clearly, everyone's task was to simultaneously defend against monsters attacking from all eight directions within this temple.
The task was simple, with only strict requirents on strength.
However, due to the early activation, each person now had to defend two paths simultaneously to prevent accidents.
This was the deploynt jointly made by three of them after entering early to investigate the situation. At this mont, the three occupied three different positions, each guarding the two paths closest to them.
Yet, they waited for a long ti, but the last person never entered the Desert Temple.
Wasting everyone's ti made them incredibly angry.
"That guy better pray he doesn't run into in the next area, or I'll be the first to take her out!" said a middle-aged man with a scar near his eye.
Upon hearing him, several of his subordinates behind him also chid in.
"The mission has already started, and that guy still isn't coming in. I think she's doing it on purpose!"
"Hmph, let's see how long she can wait!"
The Station had already opened early, so even if new Survivors were still waiting at the Station, none would arrive.
This ant that there were only four of them at this Station.
The scar-faced man was very displeased. He stood on a high vantage point, looked at the entrance again, and then turned his gaze to the other two Survivors standing not far away, trying to win them over.
"I say, brother, how about the three of us team up and take her out once we enter the desert?"
The Survivors who could arrive here at the sa ti as him were naturally not weak. Although he had made harsh threats, he wasn't foolish. He knew that the cost of hunting the other party would likely be very high, so he tried to win over the other two Survivors before the other party entered.
If the three of them tead up, it shouldn't be too difficult to assassinate a leader of the channel.
The other two had also grown impatient. One of them imdiately agreed.
"That suits perfectly. My na is Wang Bian. What should I call you, brother?"
"I am Lin Shu!"
"And this young brother?"
The two exchanged nas. Seeing that the last person, and also the youngest of the three, remained silent, they all looked at him inquiringly.
"Ye Liangchen."
The young man spoke indifferently. In reality, he wasn't very interested in ganging up on others, but since the other two had already reached an agreent, he could only feign consent.
But then again, that guy made them wait three hours in this wretched place for nothing, so she really deserved a good lesson.
The initiator then continued, "Alright, as soon as our mission ends and we enter the desert, we'll..."
But before he could finish, a white beam of light suddenly shot up from the Desert Temple behind the three, piercing the sky, and then the entire ground began to shake.
The three stumbled, and then saw curtains of light suddenly rise, blocking all eight diverging paths leading out from the temple. It was no longer possible to directly cross to other paths; one would have to return to the temple and take a detour.
At the sa ti, the roars of monster hordes began to emanate from within the massive portals at the end of each diverging path. The next second, countless crawling monsters surged out frantically.
Their numbers were astonishing, and their speed was incredibly fast, instantly rushing along the paths towards the core of the temple.
All of this happened almost simultaneously in an instant, so much so that even the three of them didn't react in ti.
The curtains of light that rose on both sides of the paths not only restricted their movent but also prevented sound from being transmitted.
Fortunately, the three had discussed it beforehand. The mont the anomaly occurred, they imdiately directed their pre-assigned combat power to quickly move to the other path closest to them.
One person guarding two paths, they were top leaders, at the forefront of all Survivors, and did not believe this would be a problem.
anwhile, Bai Cheng and the others, who had just entered the temple, naturally also sensed the abnormality here.
"The mission has started already?" Bai Cheng raised an eyebrow. She hadn't even had ti to observe her surroundings.
In the spacious desert hall, the core floated quietly in the center, and a screen above displayed a line of information.
"The first wave of attack has arrived!"
Leng Ningxue, standing beside her, frowned as she looked at the eight diverging paths before them and asked, "So many paths? Which one should we go to?"
However, very quickly, this question no longer needed to be considered.
Because countless snake, rat, insect, and ant-like monsters were already attacking in hordes from the two northernmost paths.
Bai Cheng glanced over and found that these monsters were only of Servant Level strength, even more like cannon fodder than cannon fodder.
"There's no difficulty at all?"
Bai Cheng did not bring all her staff with her this ti, only three Town Guardian Level mbers.
Seeing this, she imdiately made a deploynt: "Nian Nian, Ningxue, you two go with Scarlet Fla to one path, and Zi Yuan and I will go to another."
The other six paths had no monsters attacking, which clearly indicated that the other three had already made their deploynts.
Zi Yuan, who was nearby, seeing that Bai Cheng hadn't ntioned her na, quickly spoke up, "Miss, what about Zi Yuan?"
"You stay here to defend," Bai Cheng explained.
She couldn't place her hopes on all three of the others being able to hold out. What if sothing unexpected happened?
Keeping Zi Yuan here would be the last insurance.
Of course, it was also because she considered that the monsters' strength would beco stronger and stronger later on, and Zi Yuan did not have effective area-of-effect damage.
After making the arrangents, several people quickly began to enter the diverging paths and start defending.
"This mission feels like a tower defense ga?"
