Now reading: Chapter 298: A valley from Train Survival: I Became a White-Haired Hardcore Grinder, a Action novel by 人间十月天.

Lvdou also stood on the roof of the train, firing several Charged Arrows in an instant.

A violent explosion rang out; the shell of that train twisted and cracked, and the energy-absorbing vortices on its side suddenly beca chaotic and extinguished.

However, the train continued to hurtle forward along a straight line due to inertia for several hundred ters before coming to a stop at an angle; there were no screams, no counterattacks, and not even any attempts to escape from within.

A blurry figure slid out from the broken window, falling onto the scorched earth that was rapidly turning gray and white, remaining motionless.

The figure emitted an aura close to King-level, but at this mont, it was like a puppet with its strings cut—or rather, more like a shell that had been emptied of so kind of core.

Next was the second train, then the third... Inside their own train, Bai Cheng and Yu Nian stared intently at this silent harvest through the observation screen.

They watched as their King-level Employees easily destroyed one dark train after another, clearing out the operators inside—special Survivors who emitted a pseudo-King-level aura—as if they were dismantling parts.

But whether it was the destruction of a train or the fall of the Survivors within, the entire massive convoy remained unresponsive.

The trains ahead showed no intention of slowing down or turning back to help; not a single car even adjusted its direction or activated its defenses.

They simply sped forward silently and frantically, the vortices on both sides still greedily sucking away the remaining vitality of the grassland,

as if the destruction of their companions behind them had nothing to do with them, as if the sole purpose of their existence was to follow this straight line and turn everything into dead silence.

Those special Survivors who were killed didn't make a sound until the end, nor did they perform any decent defensive or counter-attacking moves.

Their hollow eyes didn't even focus on the attackers, still staring straight ahead at so unknown destination.

"This feels... less like killing people," Yu Nian's voice was a bit dry, "and more like clearing away... a pile of programd obstacles."

Bai Cheng's brow furrowed tighter and tighter, the unease in her heart spreading as rapidly as the expanding desolation ahead.

Yet, it was undeniable that as they destroyed these Survivor trains from #1 Channel following at the tail of the convoy, the force affecting their own train was indeed noticeably weakening.

The train's speed was already much faster than before.

"I originally thought the Survivors of #1 Channel were like us, a group of poor souls surviving on their own, with the only difference being that they originally ca from this world..."

Bai Cheng frowned, her mind racing with thoughts.

"But now it seems they are completely different from us."

Leng Ningxue nodded in silence and then added, "They seem to be organized, or rather, the entirety of the #1 Channel Survivors are going all out to achieve a certain goal."

In the current situation, it seed more like their secret machinations had been discovered by the system, leading to a liquidation.

Clearly, these guys had no more ti to continue their plotting.

Their unknown objective or mission had been moved forward.

"Continue," Bai Cheng said coldly, suppressing her swirling doubts.

"Since they aren't resisting, speed up and clear them out one by one starting from the tail!"

The train was still forced to follow at the end of the torrent devouring all life, and a one-sided, silent demolition was playing out in this constantly fading world.

With no resistance, the cleanup work concluded exceptionally quickly.

When the signal of the last convoy Survivor disappeared from the detection console, the grassland outside—which was being eaten away by an invisible force and losing its last bits of green—seed to have its pause button pressed.

The spread of desertification stopped, the scorched yellow boundary freezing not far from the tracks.

At the sa ti, everyone inside the carriage felt a weight lift from their bodies.

The eerie force that had followed them like a shadow since they entered this area, tightly suppressing the train's power and everyone's mobility, receded quietly like the tide.

"The suppression is lifted!" Yu Nian imdiately rushed to the control console, confirming that all data had returned to normal and the train's protective force field had stabilized again.

Bai Cheng's tense nerves relaxed slightly as her gaze swept across the wasteland that had returned to "calm."

Although the crisis was temporarily resolved, the notification for mission completion did not appear, and the map on the detection console still showed this area.

A sense of unease lingered in her heart.

"Sothing's not right..." Just as she spoke, a sudden change occurred!

In the center of the detection console, the coordinate marker representing their own position began to flash wildly without warning!

It wasn't a regular blinking, but a near-frenzied, rhythm-less strobe; the red light was blinding, painting the entire carriage in a bloody hue.

"What's happening? A system malfunction?!" Leng Ningxue cried out.

Before her words even landed, the entire train shuddered violently!

It wasn't an attack, but rather as if the power core had been grabbed by an invisible giant hand and then violently thrust forward!

Woooo—!!!

The shrill whistle, far exceeding normal limits, was stretched and distorted as the train, like an unbridled steel beast, suddenly accelerated completely out of control!

The scenery outside blurred instantly, turning into distorted bands of light and blocks of color rushing backward.

The intense acceleration pinned everyone firmly against their seats or the cabin walls, their cries suppressed in their throats.

This wasn't driving; it was more like being forcibly "thrown" by so spatial force!

The violent jolting and dizziness lasted for who knows how long—perhaps only a dozen seconds, perhaps a century.

When that violent thrust suddenly vanished, the train ca to a sudden halt on an unfamiliar track with the screeching sound of tal friction.

Inertia sent everyone inside the carriage tumbling.

Bai Cheng braced herself against the edge of the control console, steadying herself, and imdiately looked out the window.

It was no longer a wasteland.

The train was stopped at the entrance of a narrow and deep valley.

On both sides were steep, dark-red rock walls that towered into the clouds, squeezing the sky into a dim, thin line.

Light inside the valley was dim, filled with a faint mist that slled of rust and dust.

The tracks extended forward, disappearing into the shadows deep within the valley.

But the train seed to have exhausted all its strength, or perhaps was forced to stop by so command; the power system humd lowly, with no further intention of moving forward.

On the detection ❖ Nоvеl𝚒ght ❖ (Exclusive on Nоvеl𝚒ght) console, the wildly flashing coordinates finally stabilized, the red light condensing into a clear pinpoint of light. Its position... was strikingly deep within the valley ahead.

The train stopping here made its intent more than clear: it was signaling them to disembark and head toward that coordinate point on foot.

"Were we sent to the designated location by the system?" Bai Cheng's voice was a bit hoarse.

The faces of Yu Nian and Leng Ningxue also showed varying expressions.

"A valley?"

"This is a type of terrain we've never reached before," Leng Ningxue said solemnly.

"Clearly, the ultimate goal of those Survivors from #1 Channel is in there," Bai Cheng said with certainty.

"Let's go."
