Nathan felt a flicker of systemic relief as Barricade stood down. He had no desire for a localized civil war. Even with the Air Commander's mantle and Soundwave's secret endorsent, a "glitch-frenzy" Decepticon like Barricade was an unpredictable variable.

In a direct kinetic exchange, Nathan's High-Tier Spark might not be enough to overco Barricade's Elite-Tier combat experience. However, in a pursuit, the Silver Fox fra granted Nathan absolute vertical optical superiority.

Standing at eight ters, Nathan leaned down slightly to address the five-ter-tall Enforcer. The height advantage was a rare luxury in the Decepticon ranks; it felt... optimal.

Barricade's optics remained dark, his frustration venting through his cooling secondary-ports. He turned his attention to the spindly infiltrator scuttling between them.

"Frenzy. Brief the Seeker on the operational paraters. Our window is closing."

Frenzy didn't need a second invitation. He projected a high-resolution wirefra of a Boeing VC-25—the Mobile Executive Command Center, or Air Force One—from his chest-array.

"The target is the Federal Network Uplink," Frenzy chirped, his four blue eyes dancing with data-thirst. "I will bypass the hard-line security. Skygnaw, you are to maintain a high-altitude combat-CAP (Combat Air Patrol). If the human interceptors scramble, you drop them before they can lock onto the Executive's transponder."

Nathan watched the projection. So Frenzy is moving to bridge the gap to Sector 7, he calculated. And Sam is likely finalizing his transaction for the yellow scout.

"Skygnaw," Barricade barked, "what is your current alt-mode configuration?"

"High-altitude interceptor," Nathan replied, his voice a deep, tallic resonance. "I can maintain orbital-edge surveillance and provide kinetic suppression within seconds."

"Operate independently," Barricade commanded. "Stay outside the civilian radar-net unless the siphon is compromised. This is a surgical strike. Soundwave wants the Witwicky coordinates, not a war on the tarmac."

Nathan understood the logic. His presence here was "pro-forma"—a way for Soundwave to keep him active while pacifying Starscream. He was the backup, the variable held in reserve.

Burgess International Airport. Austin Sector.

The civilian hub had been placed under an ergency Tier-1 lockdown. Security cordons were cleared, and the primary runway was emptied of all comrcial traffic.

"What's the delay? My flight to Dallas was supposed to push back twenty minutes ago," a flight attendant complained, peering through the terminal glass at the empty tarmac.

"Look at the periter," her colleague whispered, pointing toward a fleet of black SUVs and armored transport trucks. "That isn't a chanical failure. That's a high-level state divergence."

High above, a massive, heavily modified aircraft descended from the clouds. It lacked the standard comrcial livery, bearing only the seal of the United States. As it taxied toward a secure hangar, the ground crews moved with frantic, disciplined haste.

The Mobile Executive Command Center had diverted to Burgess for an ergency logistics refill. The destruction of the Qatar base had paralyzed the standard military supply lines, forcing the Executive's transport to utilize civilian nodes for rapid refueling.

Among the crates of supplies being hauled toward the aircraft's cargo bay was a small, inconspicuous blue-and-white radio. It looked like a piece of high-end vintage tech, but as the ground crew lifted it, two needle-thin antennae extended from its side. A faint blue light pulsed on its frequency-dial—Frenzy had achieved infiltration.

Los Angeles. Tucson 8th Street.

While the Decepticons moved against the governnt's digital heart, the primary asset—Sam Witwicky—was focused on a much smaller world.

Tucson 8th Street sat on the jagged edge between the Los Angeles prosperity and the industrial slums. It was a sector of narrow alleys, rusted chain-link fences, and fading graffiti. Here, the yellow Camaro ca to a halt in front of a weathered two-story house.

The ground floor was a converted automotive workshop, cluttered with half-disassembled engines and hydraulic lifts. The second floor was a wooden addition, its white paint peeling but clean.

"We're here," Sam said, his voice tight with nerves.

In the passenger seat sat Mikaela Banes. She wore a cropped tank top and denim shorts, her appearance radiating a raw, effortless magnetism. But Sam wasn't just attracted to her aesthetic; he was intimidated by her. Mikaela wasn't just the most popular girl in his grade; she was a chanical prodigy who spent her nights in this very workshop.

Sam had abandoned his friend Miles at a lakeside party just for the opportunity to drive her ho. The journey had been a series of systemic failures—the car had stalled, restarted on its own, and Sam had managed to say three things that nearly made her jump out while the vehicle was moving.

"I had... a good ti this afternoon, Sam," Mikaela said, looking at the workshop. "Thanks for the ride. And for listening to vent."

"Oh, uh, yeah. No problem. You know... it's what I do," Sam stamred, his social-processors redlining.

Mikaela didn't laugh. She spent her life surrounded by guys who saw her as a trophy. Sam was the first one who seed genuinely terrified of her—and yet, he was the only one who had actually listened to her talk about her father's incarceration and the chanics of a V8 engine.

"Sam... do you think I'm shallow?" she asked, her blue eyes fixing on him.

"I think you're... no, no," Sam fumbled. "I think you're... more than the assembly of your parts. You've got... structural integrity. Internal depth."

It was a clumsy, gear-head complint, but Mikaela's face broke into a genuine, bright smile. She realized Sam wasn't just the "weird glasses kid" from history class; he was a boy who looked past the exterior plating.

She felt a rare flicker of affinity for him. She reached for the door handle, unaware that the rusted Camaro she was sitting in was currently transmitting her biotric data to a Seeker orbiting five miles above her head.
