The mont I uttered those words, I turned into red lightning and reappeared atop one of the valley edges.

Staring at the group of five n who didn’t even realize I was here, I clicked my tongue, finally getting their attention.

"Huh?"

"How did you—"

"It’s a demon!"

When they turned to , each of them drew their weapons, while one in particular directly used his Gift on .

A fireball flew straight at , yet I didn’t even bat an eye.

And rightfully so, because the fireball dissipated upon hitting .

That alone made the others wary of approaching .

I raised my arms, showing that I’m friendly.

"I’m not a demon. As for you lot, are you treasure hunters, or...?"

I glanced at their waists and saw ropes, chains, and a few collars strapped to them.

"Ah."

"Slave traders?"

The five n froze.

But they lost all right to negotiate the mont I found out what they were.

I drew a line with my finger, and regular lightning soon erged, slashing the necks of all five of the slave traders and killing them instantly.

By the ti their heads hit the ground, I was already on another valley edge, killing another group of slave traders, then another... and another.

Within a minute, hundreds of heads belonging to slave traders riddled the top of the valley.

Once every single one of them was dead, I went back down and arrived beside Clentine and the boy.

"I’m done. This spot’s way too easy to get ambushed from. If you really live here, you should probably consider moving out."

The boy narrowed his eyes.

"Did you see my sister?"

"Nope."

He clenched his fists and stopped asking any more questions.

Backing off from Clentine, he once again led the way forward.

Honestly?

If his sister was as powerful as he’s been saying, and what I’ve been feeling, then she must’ve already realized these people were here.

By default, she should’ve also known her brother’s down here.

That’s only if she hasn’t already left this place.

As we followed after the kid, I decided to ask him so questions.

"What made you go so far away from your ho? I can’t imagine a kid like you would be rebellious enough to do sothing so stupid like run away."

He slightly turned his head in my direction.

"My sister’s birthday was a couple days ago, so I went to get her a gift in the city."

"...But because of what happened to the Harper Citadel, there were a lot of bad people standing guard outside of cities, and one of them caught and locked up in a cage. I escaped after they let their guard down."

So he really was captured as a slave.

And it’s because of what happened to the Harper Citadel...

Since I haven’t been into any city or village myself, I don’t know much.

However, from what little Clentine ntioned about it, the Harper Citadel and the whole area around it turned into a wasteland.

The atmosphere there was radioactive, no more crops could grow, and pretty much the whole Holy Order put that area on lockdown until they finished purifying it.

I didn’t even want to hear how many casualties there were...

"Quit staring already. You’re creeping out, demon," the boy said and sped up his pace.

Clentine pouted in my stead, yet as much as she wanted to bonk the kid over the head, she held back.

Just a few minutes later, we finally arrived in front of a giant cave opening in the side of the valley.

It was riddled with lanterns and a few bamboos, so of which resembled the boy’s height.

Haha.

My parents also used to asure my height by marking it on the wall with a permanent marker.

These guys just did it a bit more creatively.

Using my Mystic Eyes, I scanned the cave.

"Doesn’t seem like your sister’s ho."

Instead of replying, the boy took a few steps inside, picked up a nearby bamboo, and slamd it against the cave’s entrance, causing a loud echo to resound throughout the entire valley.

I didn’t think much of it at first, but my Mystic Eyes quickly picked up on a powerful energy soaring toward us at an incredible speed.

A faint whistle reached my ears, and out of instinct, I raised my arms to block.

And thankfully I did, because in the next instant, I saw a flash of white light, followed by my vision distorting as I was sent flying directly into the valley wall.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

RUMBLE!

"Ugh..."

Once I regained my senses, I realized I was at least 50 ters deep into the valley wall.

Feeling the sharp pain in my arms, I glanced down.

To my surprise, my arms were ripped to shreds, and only the regenerating bone remained.

Shit...

It was like a nuke just hit .

If I didn’t have Atomic Stabilization, I’d already be dead.

I waited nearly a minute until my arms healed, and then finally crawled out of the hole.

But as I was about to fly back to Clentine, I suddenly clutched my forehead and tumbled down to the ground, landing roughly.

Adjusting myself, I stared at the sky and heaved a few deep breaths.

Why was I so disoriented...?

It’s not like I’ve never taken a hit this powerful before.

If anything, Kai’s attacks were even stronger.

The headache gradually passed, but when I used energy again, it ca back.

Realizing what was happening, I scrapped the idea of using energy at all and slowly made my way back to the cave, spotting three people standing and talking there.

Clentine, the boy, and an oddly nacing woman.

Her hair was primarily black and had white outlines that were slightly stained with blood.

Once she turned to and t my gaze, I froze.

Her deep amber eyes contained so much pressure, I knew for a fact I didn’t want to fight her.

And yet, once I saw her glance up at my horns and draw her silver katana, I realized fighting her was inevitable.

Clentine shook her head repeatedly at , but even so, I reached into my dinsional ring and pulled out my Ancient Dragon Slayer katana and entered a calm, defensive stance.

She paused for a mont, then blasted off the ground and reappeared in front of with her katana already re inches away from my head.
