CLANG!

CLANG!

CLANG!

I let out a yawn and finally stopped my training.

The night was long.

Very long.

So I swung my sword 15,000 tis, and only now did I feel like my mind was clear again.

Though... If she were to do that again, I would probably go crazy.

Shaking my head, I glanced to the side.

Just then, I spotted Eric stepping out of the cave.

There were so crumbs on his face, which probably ant Clentine had made so breakfast for him.

Even so, he approached eagerly and then puffed out his chest.

"I see you’ve been training all night, junior. Good, very good!"

Right...

"So how’s your progress now? Have you realized how hard it is to grasp the Sword Heart?"

I tilted my head.

"I already grasped it yesterday. What now?"

"...Huh?"

His eyes widened, and it looked like his brain short-circuited.

"Y-You grasped it already? How...?"

"Didn’t you say it was intuitive? It was pretty easy to learn once I realized so basic stuff," I answered.

He nearly tumbled as he processed what I just said.

Eventually, Eric took a deep breath and t my eyes.

"N-Next is Aura Manipulation, but big sis didn’t tell anything..."

"She only said it appears when your swordsmanship is good enough. B-Besides that, she said your basics need to be really good. That’s about it."

Oh.

Well that’s a sha.

"Then, can we go back to Sword Intent?"

Eric raised a brow.

"Didn’t you learn it already?"

"I did, but I need a sparring partner to test the limits."

So far I’ve only made my sword sharp and unbreakable.

Could I maybe envelop it in fire without using my energy?

However...

"I... I already told you. I can’t practice swordsmanship."

"Oh, right."

I inwardly facepald.

"Can I know why? If it’s not too personal of course."

He glanced at my horns, then shook his head.

"I don’t know. My big sis just said sothing bad will happen if I ever practiced swordsmanship."

"And yet you still practice the sword in secret, don’t you?"

At my words, Eric flinched.

"I don’t! I would never disobey my sister!"

Instead of replying, I pointed my wooden sword at his hands.

"Kid, I’m not blind. Your sister isn’t either."

"If I realized that you’re practicing swordsmanship the mont I first saw you, do you think she hasn’t realized it?"

"..."

I let out a sigh and ruffled his hair.

"Talk to her about it when she cos back. Since I respect Aliyah, I won’t let you practice until then."

He didn’t argue with , and just lowered his head.

A faint smile appeared on my face as I turned back to my sparring partner for the last two weeks.

The wall.

"Just watch and tell if you see sothing off."

With those words, I began swinging my sword at the wall, while also testing out so neat effects.

***

The hours flew by swiftly, and I was definitely humbled by how little I could do.

Added to Sharpness and Durability, I could increase the Weight, Reach, and Penetration.

They were all really basic things that I could just bypass with any of my Gifts.

But then again, fundantals shouldn’t be ignored.

So if these were the only five, I needed to push them to the highest level, where I could even cut things I wouldn’t be able to cut with my Gifts.

Anyhow, there’s a reason why I stopped training now.

"Eric, could you step inside the cave for a little bit?"

"Why? Is sothing up?"

A faint smile appeared on my face.

"Yep, bad people are coming, so go ahead and hide. Oh, call Clentine as well."

Just then, I heard a cough from behind, and when I turned around, I saw a relaxed Clentine.

"There’s no need. I already noticed."

That makes it easier then—

"Can I stay and watch?" Eric asked with a determined look.

"Absolutely not," I answered imdiately.

"If anything were to happen to you, Aliyah would kill us both."

Eric imdiately hit the two of us with the puppy dog eyes.

"...Please? I swear I’ll hide behind you two."

Clentine and I exchanged a glance.

"I’ll bring him inside."

She grabbed Eric by the collar and took him back inside.

He refused and tried to escape, but obviously, a kid wouldn’t be able to overpower Clentine.

Since she’s about to be back anyway, I decided to run ahead.

Although I wasn’t using my energy, my Mystic Eyes still passively detected everything around .

And as it so happened, I managed to catch a trace of a few people who were heading toward us.

Since they didn’t seem that strong, I guessed they weren’t Holy Knights.

Within just a few minutes of running, I spotted the silhouette of at least ten people ahead.

They scanned the walls and dug up the ground, storing so random materials.

Judging by how casually they were dressed, these guys were definitely treasure hunters, and not slavers.

Since I wanted to avoid a misunderstanding, I reached into my dinsional ring and pulled out an oversized top hat before putting it on.

It hid my horns, but I looked ridiculous.

Even so, I stepped out from cover and began approaching the treasure hunters.

It didn’t take long for them to spot .

Though they didn’t seem that bothered.

They laughed at my appearance and sent the only person who had a weapon to et .

It was a muscular green-haired woman with long ears, likely an elf.

"Heya stranger. Did you already explore up ahead?"

Seeing her tap her knuckle weapons, I let out a sigh.

"I live here, so I’d appreciate it if you guys packed up and went on your rry way."

She raised a brow.

"You live here? You know, I don’t want to sound unreasonable, but I feel like that’s a pile of bullshit."

Shifting her posture to seem more nacing, she added:

"Look, we’re just here to collect so resources. If you really live here, we’ll just avoid your house. How does that sound?"

"For soone who doesn’t want to sound unreasonable, you’re being pretty unreasonable right now," I responded.

Then, I tapped the hilt of my wooden sword and gestured with my chin for her to back off.

But clearly, she took it as a joke as she let out a chuckle, and then shot off from the ground, arriving in front of and ramming her fist right into my abdon, sending flying directly into the wall.
