"Yawn..."
By the ti I woke up, Clentine was already dressed and ready to leave.
Honestly, I had no idea how she keeps slipping away from my grasp without waking up.
Was she phasing?
"Aliyah knocked on our door a few tis, so get dressed. We’re leaving."
I nodded and did just that, putting on a fresh pair of clothes and, alongside Clentine, stepping out of the room.
Sensing that Aliyah was downstairs, we went down, spotting her eating at one of the tables in the corner.
To my surprise, she had bought food for three people.
And while I didn’t expect her to be so considerate, I sat down with Clentine and began eating the sausages and toast.
None of us spoke, only ate the food.
Once we were finished, we silently stepped out of the inn and began making our way to the west again, just this ti, we decided to get a nice and comfortable carriage.
And so...
"You two talk a lot," Aliyah said.
I shrugged.
"We’re a couple. Of course we talk a lot."
Clentine playfully patted my head, and I puffed out my chest at Aliyah.
She rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, whatever. Just so you know, I won’t be able to accompany you forever, since I have my own business to take care of. After we get done with the Divine Healer, we will part ways."
"So soon? What about your dear disciple? Did you forget about already?" I asked, sulking.
Aliyah crossed her arms.
"It seems like my ’dear disciple’ thinks his master needs several years to teach him sothing."
...I had a bad feeling about this.
"You’re not planning to torture while I’m supposed to be healing, are you?"
"Torturing soone while they’re being healed is the best, since it assures there are never any lasting injuries."
A faint smirk appeared on her face.
"For that reason, during our stay at the Divine Healer’s residence, in your off ti while you’re not being healed, I’ll be teaching you one of the basic forms from my swordsmanship."
"..."
I knew it.
I turned to Clentine for help, but she simply smiled at and continued patting my head.
Ah...
Even Clentine is on this evil witches’ side.

For the next couple of days, our routine was the sa.
We traveled until it got dark, settled down in a village or town, and then continued again in the morning.
And now, with only a single, almost barren mountain in front of us, it seed like we finally reached it.
The Divine Healer had a whole mountain to himself.
He lived in a small hut on the very top, and he accepted all kinds of people, no matter their injury.
All he asked in return was paynt.
After all, people tended to take things for granted once it is given to them for free.
"He’s up there. Usually, when I get here, he cos down and personally greets . He’s either on the toilet, or he’s ignoring , so let’s go up instead, shall we?"
Before I could reply, Aliyah jumped up, scaling the whole mountain and landing on top in the next second.
I sighed, and after tapping Clentine on the shoulder, I kicked off the ground and scaled the mountain just as easily, eventually landing on the top.
Clentine landed as well.
The mont we arrived though, we were imdiately t with a surprisingly cozy mountaintop.
Like in the ga, there was only a single hut here.
But surrounding it was a potato garden, a few apple trees, a beautiful pond, and even a small flower garden.
It was like an old man’s ho.
"Open up!"
Aliyah slamd on the wooden hut’s door, nearly breaking the hedges.
She quickly stopped when the door opened slightly.
Through the gap, an ordinary brown-haired man scanned the three of us.
He had black bags under his brown eyes, but even so, he eventually stepped out, ruffled his hair, and narrowed his eyes at Aliyah.
"Do you have any semblance of knowledge of how to knock properly, woman?"
"Adam, if you call woman one more ti instead of Aliyah, I’ll cut off both your balls."
Adam rubbed his temples, looking annoyed.
"What do you want, Aliyah?"
A faint smile appeared on her face.
Then, she glanced back and pointed at .
"I want you to fix him."
Adam stared at for a brief mont, then tilted his head.
"What’s there to fix? He doesn’t look broken."
Unlike the zoning out I wanted to have fixed as well, I felt like this was a bit obvious, so I pointed at my crimson horns.
"I want you to get rid of these."
"And what’s wrong with them, if I may ask?"
He adjusted his white robe and stepped past Aliyah, approaching .
Taking out a monocle, he inspected my horns thoroughly, even touching them a few tis.
"They’re made from solidified demonic energy. Unlike regular demon horns, these ones would grow back, since they have a direct ridian channel from your heart."
He raised a finger and tapped my forehead.
"In a sense, think of these horns as a limb. If you cut off your limb, it will regenerate. In the sa sense, that will also happen with these horns."
"While I could remove them, it would require surgically removing ridians inside your brain. But then again, if those horns sprouted once, they’re going to sprout again. I can’t do anything about that."
"..."
In a way, I could see where he’s coming from.
After all, whatever he said, as the Divine Healer, I knew he wasn’t feeding bullshit.
I also knew that if I wanted the most out of my strength, I would have to use the Wrath Transformation, and if that in turn would make my horns sprout back out, I needed a more permanent solution.
"You ntioned ridians and whatnot, and that my horns are connected to my heart. Is it possible to retract them?"
Adam shook his head.
"Solidified energy isn’t the sa as flowing energy. Your skull isn’t big enough to fit those horns inside."
That makes sense.
"So if I were to get my horn and ridians removed, then proceed to create a new ridian path in the old one’s place, except the new would have that flowing energy thingy you ntioned... would that work?"
Adam fell into thought for a mont.
"While it may be theoretically feasible, the margin for error is very slim. One wrong move and you would cripple yourself permanently. As an experienced but humble healer, I highly advise my patients not to take such asures, especially when I can’t directly aid them."
Ah...
It really did seem like I didn’t have much of a choice.
A deadly procedure like that would take a very long ti to perfect, and
"I’ll do it," Clentine suddenly spoke up.
The three of us slowly turned toward her.
Her expression was one of determination that I’ve never seen before.
"Teach how to treat Amon, and I’ll do it for him."
