"Y-Your estimated Vitality is Grade 65 to 70."
"In total... your estimated Grade is 60 to 65. That puts you at Gold rank. But because your enhancent is able to boost your power by more than 10 Grades, you’re now Prismatic Gold rank."
My eyes widened slightly.
Prismatic was a rank given to those who were deed special.
Very special.
With a rank like that, I’m now considered one of the gifted prodigies of the continent.
A prodigy which would usually be respected across the Western continent... if only I didn’t have this big of a bounty.
But since I had this big of a bounty, I’d be feared by the people, admired by the strong, and hunted by pretty much every idiot seeking my bounty.
Either way, I was satisfied.
"Can you give a badge right away?" I asked.
Charles paused, then nodded.
He carefully approached and placed a silver badge on my forehead.
Though in the very next instant, that silver badge began to glow and turn golden.
Not only that, the gold soon turned prismatic, and once that was done, Charles backed off.
I grabbed the badge and inspected it.
My na was etched in the back, as well as my rank.
[Amon Everness - Prismatic Gold]
Heh.
This was pretty cool.
If I can clear my bounty sohow, then my status would be that of soone just under the king.
I can’t wait for it.
"You’ll have to step out and let fix everything. I’ll call in Clentine once I’m done here."
"Ah, I’ll wait," I replied.
He froze slightly.
"There’s no need for that. I’ll be done in just a few minutes."
Oh, I know.
It’s just that I never know what he could be hiding inside his dinsional ring.
The last thing I wanted now was for him to call in so powerful cavalry.
So with that in mind, I began pestering him.
After just a few monts, he gave in and repaired all the damage done, replacing everything easily in re minutes.
And once he was done, I stepped out of the room and gestured for Clentine to go inside.
Since I knew it would take a few minutes, I closed my eyes and decided to scan the surroundings.
It didn’t take long for Clentine to step out.
And as I expected, she wore a massive smirk on her face and held up a Prismatic Gold badge.
"I got one too. Does that an we’re important now?"
"Very. Though I doubt all those people gathered around this building are here to congratulate us," I said.
Then I nodded at Charles.
"We’ll be taking our leave now. Thanks for all the help."
"Are you sure you two don’t want to stay for so tea? There’s a dining room just down the hall."
I shook my head.
"We’ll have to pass."
A faint smile appeared on my face.
"Also, if you don’t want this city to be wiped off the map, I suggest you put that down."
Clentine seed like she didn’t understand what I was talking about.
But Charles understood perfectly.
He slowly pulled his hand out of his pocket, revealing a small blue crystal.
We exchanged a glance, and he let out a sigh.
"You caught . But at the end of the day, it’s just business. I held up my end of the deal and made you two identification. As for what happens afterward? Well... it doesn’t really matter, does it?"
"Pfft..."
Clentine held back a laugh.
"So even after you saw what we’re capable of, you pull sothing like this? Isn’t it a little pathetic?"
"Business is sotis pathetic."
At this point, he was just rambling on and trying to buy ti.
So I decided not to waste my ti with him any longer.
I tapped Clentine’s shoulder, and the two of us suddenly vanished as I used lightning to teleport us outside of the building, right on top of the roof.
Feeling the cold wind brush against my cheek, I glanced ahead, spotting tens of people just sitting and chatting on the edge of the roof, not noticing our presence at all.
My hand rested on the hilt of my katana, and for a mont, I thought about just slicing everyone’s throats here and now without them noticing.
But once Clentine placed her hand over mine, I stopped.
Just then, five silver Holy Knights erged from the ground, belonging to Clentine.
Without saying a single word, she snapped her fingers.
The people gathered here for us imdiately reacted to that sound and turned around.
Raising their hands, several dozen Gifts suddenly fired out toward the two of us.
But by then, the Holy Knights had already begun to move.
And as it so happened, one Holy Knight was enough to parry every single one of the attacks coming our way.
"We should get going now," Clentine said.
I slowly nodded at her, then stopped.
"That might be a little difficult..."
I glanced up and spotted a lean man sitting on the very top of one of the mountains up above.
It was one of the main mountains that extended upward and ford the do-like wall around the city.
Seeing the crimson scythe in the man’s hands, the image of an overly heroic trickster popped into my head.
He’s usually wearing a mask and a silly-looking red cape.
But this guy’s not wearing anything but a white tank top, simple shorts, and a headband to hold his dark blue hair from getting in his eyes.
...Could this be him?
No way.
"Do you know him?"
"Maybe?"
"My Soul Knights can handle the people down in the city. Want to go up and say hello?"
Soul Knights?
That’s definitely better than Holy Knights.
"Yeah. We might as well say hello."
With that, Clentine and I vanished from the rooftop, and just a few monts later, we reappeared a few ters behind the scythe-wielding man.
He seed to notice us, but instead of turning around, he simply thumped his scythe down onto the mountain and said:
"How generous of you two to co to ."
Yeah.
Judging by the cringe one-liner...
This might actually be him.
