Kevin and the others soon stepped into the office.
"I can’t believe you actually decided to finish your lesson instead of coming here directly," Evelyn said.
lina scoffed.
"I want to have a future after I graduate, hag."
Evelyn’s brows twitched.
"Call a hag one more ti, and you won’t be stepping foot in this office again. Also, what future are you talking about? You think anything’s going to be left after the demons co down?"
At her words, lina just covered her ears and began blabbering, trying to ignore Evelyn. Not only that, she closed her eyes and wobbled over to the bean bag.
Yet the mont she tried to jump into it, Clentine coughed, forcing lina to open her eyes.
"Hey. You’re in my spot."
Clentine tilted her head.
"It’s mine now. But we can share if you want. This cushion is very big."
"Like hell I’d share it with you. Get out."
"Nope~"
Yeah.
Those two can go ahead and bicker.
As for Isabelle and Kevin, those two were a bit more composed.
Or so I thought...
Kevin was staring at lina, and he wasn’t trying to make it less obvious either.
Was he into that delinquent?
No way, right?
Anyhow, while Kevin stared at the bickering lina and Clentine, Isabelle approached and sat down not too far from .
She seed as curt and perfect as always, though that’s to be expected from an imperial princess.
"Okay. You lot are still as awkward as always. But I don’t really care. Where’s the alchemist girl, by the way?" Evelyn asked.
"She’s currently brewing potions," Isabelle answered.
Evelyn seed a little pissed.
"That little brat. I told you to keep her in check."
"I apologize..."
"It’s whatever. The three of you will have to do."
With that, Evelyn pointed at and Clentine.
"They’re going to be entering the gala alongside you three."
Kevin froze.
"Aren’t they criminals?"
"Well yeah. They won’t be entering as themselves. I’ll find so married noble couple that owes , and those two will take their identities."
Married noble couple?
Oh.
That’s perfect practice, actually.
But then again, we were already acting like a married couple.
Ugh...
I really am overthinking it.
"To be fair though, I didn’t really prepare anything for today. So that kind of wraps up our eting."
Evelyn rubbed the back of her head.
"I promise I’ll have sothing interesting tomorrow. But hey. You can use my office as a mini hideout. Or you can just laze around here. I don’t really mind."
For a literal prophet, she was pretty clumsy.
Though that’s fine.
The reason I brought all of these guys together was because I wanted to train them.
"Kevin, lina, Isabelle. I’m sure you three already know that the world is going to end in a few months, right?"
Isabelle and Kevin nodded with glum expressions. As for lina, she just scoffed.
"Can’t say I give much of a shit. At least when the world ends, I’ll have more target dummies to practice my Gift on."
What a narcissist.
"Yeah. I don’t really care. The reason Clentine and I ca back was to train you three. As it so happens, you’re way too weak. Honestly, I’m afraid of even leaving you alone, since just about anyone or anything could kill you."
Right as they were about to refute my words, I added:
"Kevin, I’ll teach you proper swordsmanship. Isabelle, Clentine and I will fix that issue you’re having, and I’ll also teach you Gift control, as well as a new way to control your Gift."
That way, obviously, being what Kevin and I did, using our imaginations instead of so stupid picturization.
And finally...
"lina. I’ll be your target dummy."
A wide smile appeared on her face. In fact, she was so happy that she decided to stop bickering with Clentine. Instead, she plopped down right beside Clentine as the two of them enjoyed the comfy bean bag together.
Normally, Clentine would push soone like lina away. But maybe she likes how chaotic lina was. Hell, after what happened with Cassie, I didn’t think she’d ever try to make friends again.
I’m glad she’s getting along.
Just then, Kevin approached and stopped right in front of . He glared down at .
"Proper swordsmanship? Do you think my swordsmanship is a joke?"
I let out a sigh.
"You know, I talked with a very good swordswoman not too long ago. When I showed her your swordsmanship, you know what she said? And I quote, ’It’s a shabby swordsmanship only ant to please the crowd’s gaze.’ After seeing it again, I believe her."
Kevin’s gaze turned cold.
But then again, he knew that no matter how much he grumbled at , he would never be able to defeat .
Still, I didn’t want our relationship to be one of hate.
If anything...
"I’m sure you can make your swordsmanship better. Basically, when we train together, I want you to have an open mind. Don’t think that what you know is good enough, since that’s the path to dying very~ quickly."
"I see."
Doesn’t look like you do.
Though, I wasn’t here to teach him proper manners. So while he was pissed at for no reason, I turned to Isabelle.
She had been staring at for a while now.
Honestly, ever since back in the Mud Flats forest, I felt like there was sothing off about her.
Especially that look in her eyes when she stared at ...
But maybe I’m just looking too much into it.
"We’ll be leaving right away. There’s a small mountain range not too far away from Aldraazan. We’ll train there."
"Make sure to co back tomorrow so I can brief you on your noble identities," Evelyn chid in.
I nodded at her.
With that, I was pretty sure I was done with all that I set out to do at the mont.
Obviously, Alexius’s energy kept trying to probe us every now and again, which pissed off a little, but I knew there wasn’t much I could do at the mont.
I guess I did want to get to know these three a little better too?
More as people, rather than characters that I had once played or controlled.
Yeah.
That’s what I wanted.
"We’ll leave now then. See you later, Evelyn."
